Hey everyone!  Here it is - the season 10 OST REACTION!!!  Wow were there some bangers here!!!  I loved the Lamar and Sandy appearances, speed metal, the silly but really musically good one about Carolina, the explanation of voting, etc.!  It never ceases to amaze me how Jeff can put together so many different kinds of sounds and make it all work.  Not to mention the lyrics!  Sadly the ones I clicked weren't lyric videos so I couldn't pour over the lyrics like in my RWBY soundtrack reactions, but I still got the gist!  Also I did confirm that was Japanese language in the one song!!!!  What a great soundtrack for a great season!  Can't wait for season 11 next week!!!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for missing this comment! I'm glad you enjoyed my reaction and I couldn't agree more about how well all the vocals work together. Jeff's high vocals are a thing of legend and I agree that his and Sandy's vocals go so great together! I think you're right about Lamar's lines really capturing the tone of the freelancers. The Rocky line, omg! Oh I never thought about Pray being about the insurrectionists but that makes sense! The love song was a nice touch and it is sad in the context of Connie's relationship. I hope they're happy somewhere together too! I could see the guitar solo in Fragments being a break lol! That was an intense one. I know, I was surprised at the wording in the York/Carolina song lol, but it does fit in a way. I love the 80s sound!! Yeah it's sad that things didn't work out. That's a good point about the interpretation of the line in the song from the Director's perspective; it could be Allison or Carolina. It's fascinating to see the emphasis on some of the bad/negative direction that love can take. I couldn't believe I was hearing Japanese there haha! Makes sense, so cool that Jeff did that as an homage. RWBY music definitely sounds like anime music. Thanks for the info on where the music was played too! I'm bad at that sometimes lol. Thank you SO much for all the kindness and support!!!!!!

What an ost. It’s crazy how much Jeff and sandy can match pitch that you have to listen very closely to recognise which one is singing. In your opinion which is sadder Forever or forever fall from volume 6. Also the fact that York performs come on Carolina makes it better. The moment when you try and process the second verse and you feel you discoverer a glitch in the matrix. 😂. As far as I am aware the lyrics are the same as the first verse but just in a different language. Sad to see the final goodbye to the freelancer saga, the highest peak. Also Tyler if you see this can we go into the campaign?

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Season 11's Soundtrack only has one lyrical track. And it was made by Trocadero, the band that made the OG Season 1 RvB intro.

2023-04-27 03:59:49 So I’m not as in tune with the RvB OSTs as you know but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them. There’s an interesting timing I’d like to point out: you started RvB on Dec. 14, 2021 and this is your final reaction to the initial arc. You’ve been doing this show for over a year now. Did you realize that? Ironic that it worked out that way. I’m not super positive but I believe Casey would have been 12 when she did this, remember, after this is when she starts really going at it. This is the final full OST that Jeff & co. work on for RvB. The next year, they’d start on a different project. One you might be familiar with. 👀 Terminate is both the intro song and played during the credits, while Now that We’ve Come So Far is the end credits song. The voting song is a gag and Come On, Carolina is a bonus track as well. Also the “On Your Knees” line is a reference to a Tex themed song in Season 9. So a couple of non spoiler housekeeping notes for the next batch and the first one in the new arc and new year: the situation at the end of Season 10 gets slightly retconned a bit. I’ll explain more after you’ve seen it. Also, Season 11 will be a lot less intense than what you’ve had lately. It’s still going somewhere, but it’ll feel a lot more classic style. :) At some point you should watch the 1-10 series again, now that you know everything, I’m sure you would catch things that you didn’t before. More importantly, I learned everyone I vote for are all a bunch of jerks! Hey that makes sense! Thanks Reds! Tell me more! 😃

Definitely learned a thing or two about voting today This soundtrack overall was fire. It matched the intensity and feel of Season 10. Another great listen 🎧

Pinkandahalf

Every time you do one of these videos I get reminded of at least one song that I heard once and then didn't really think about since. Good old voting. And I'm not even sure I ever heard that song that was written from York's perspective. Do you have any plans to do something similar with the Public Service Announcements? They can be kind of hard to find these days, but up until season 8 or so they were a very regular part of the show.

kamenriderhime

Seriously!!! I know, they do match pitch really well right? Oh gawd, they're both so good....if I was forced to choose, I'd probably go with Forever Fall just because of how well we knew/loved Pyrrha by that point. OMG that's York singing??? Holy cow hahaha!! OMG for real, I had to do a double take because I'm so used to hearing Japanese in nearly everything I watch and listen to!! Good to know about the lyrics, such a cool choice. I know, it's the end of an era! Ooh, when I comment Tyler below I'll tell him you were asking for him hehe!

kamenriderhime

It was great! Gotcha, I'm pretty sure Tyler included that one in my playlist so that's good! So cool about the band!

kamenriderhime

Before I answer your comment - Canonman in the comments above asked you a question! Sadly there's no way to really tag someone here :P WHOA, no kidding!!!! That timed out so perfectly! Wow, that's SO young!!!! She's beyond talented. Oh hmm perhaps I've heard of that project? :P Oh cool about Terminate, I did recognize Now that We've Come So Far. Loved the gag songs!!! Oh yeah, good call about the line reference about Tex! Oh interesting about the retcon, hmm! I'm filming the first batch on Monday so I'll be curious to see what you mean. I'm good with classic style, as much as I enjoyed the intensity of the last few seasons! I totally wanna rewatch season 1-10!!! Hahahaha I mean, the Reds aren't totally wrong :P

kamenriderhime

Hahaha so educational right? :P It was so awesome!!!!! I agree that it fit perfectly with the tone of the season!!!!! :D

kamenriderhime

Nice!!! Glad you find something new to enjoy! The voting one haha. Oh wow, the Carolina one was one of my faves, glad you got to hear it! Good question, they've never been on my playlist but I'd like to see them, maybe that's something I could do when I get caught up? I'll have to look into it more!!!

Pinkandahalf

I did a quick search, and there's a playlist of reuploaded PSAs on the Rooster Teeth Animations YouTube channel. The old ones are a little out of order but at a glance it looks like they're all there. Says there's 76 of them, which is a little higher than I would have guessed. Title of the playlist is "Red vs. Blue - PSAs".

Tyler Stobbe

I’m not sure what you mean about “going into the campaign,” you’ll need to be a bit more specific. :)

kamenriderhime

I won't ask questions since this probably all has to do with future events but I'm excited by all the secrecy LOL

kamenriderhime

Oh nice! Wow, that's a lot!!! Thank you so much for the info. This would be fun to check out at some point for sure!

2023-01-15 19:53:46 I love this soundtrack and your reaction. I liked your point about Carolina & the Director having similar personalities. The More is a great song & I love the guitar and drums. I think Lamar having very in your face lyrics is always great and Sandy’s vocals are awesome. It seems like the lyrics can relate to both Carolina and Tex considering the attitude they go into fights with. Especially the line about if I get knocked down I get back up although that relates more to Carolina in the past considering how many times she lost/failed once Tex came on the scene. Moving on to Terrify I will always be impressed by how Jeff is able to consistently make great guitar & drum parts. Also I will never get tired of how high Jeff’s voice can get and Sandy matched him perfectly. This song really what captures the hectic & chaotic nature of battle talking about all these disasters and just having to deal with them. I love how fast-paced and frenetic the instrumentals & vocals are. Terminate is a fantastic song mostly because of Lamar’s rapping for me at least. In my opinion the brutal/savage lines can be interpreted as the freelancers talking to their enemies although considering some of the words used it could just as easily represent the Director. Also the black Rocky line is incredible. Now onto Pray and obviously the lyrics and vocals are great but the standout are the breathtaking strings. A lot of the lyrics definitely feel like they are about Connecticut especially the line about actions defining you. However another interpretation is that the song is about the insurrectionists. Sandy’s part is probably about Connecticut’s lies catching up with her as well as her death. I like the lines about destiny & tragedy. Forever is one of the best songs on the soundtrack. The lyrics make the song for me but Casey’s lovely vocals are great. I really enjoy that there is a love song on this soundtrack because of how it contrasts the other songs & the other things happening this season. While a lot of it seems to be from Connie’s perspective about the love she shared with the insurrectionist leader which was heartwarming and sad I think once it really starts talking about death it transitions to being from his perspective. It’s a really somber tone but at least the 2 of them got to say goodbye. It is emotionally impactful and I agree that Connie was integral for the plot to move. I don’t know if I believe or if the afterlife exists but if it does I hope you found each other again. Fragments is my favorite song in the entire show. I have to talk about the instrumentals first. The guitar parts are great but I think the drums are the star of the show. The guitar solo for me was actually a break to be honest LOL. I love how meaningful the lyrics are as they relate to Alpha, the other AI and project freelancer. It’s definitely about the torture alpha went through with the lines about pain & screams. I love the line about the AI controlling things but not actually knowing anything about what’s happening secretly behind the scenes. The fact that some of the lyrics talk about smoke and disguises fits with all of the secrets within the project. I like that 1 of the lines is we all will pay since it’s referring to all the trauma the freelancers who survived went through as well as the legal punishments everyone in the project could face. Some of the lyrics feel like they could be about the madness/evil growing inside Sigma. I like the line about voices in your head because when someone gets an AI it is literally a voice in your head. The voting song is just silly fun & I like that. I love that come on, Carolina is a love song came York’s perspective. The crude language is a surprise but it works for a song in this show LOL. I love the idea that all York wanted was for Carolina to relax & have fun. I agree that the instrumentals are very 80s style. I like the kind of music that would be played in a disco. It does make me think about disco going from being popular to not. I love how sweet most of the song was as it reinforces York’s love for Carolina. Also the little references are fun. Even though the song is heartwarming it’s also very bittersweet because of how things went down. It would have been great if they could have the chance to live a somewhat normal life. There are very lovey lyrics especially the one about having kids. Like you I shipped them a lot at least there is fanfiction. Now that we’ve come so far is a great conclusion/credits song. I agree the lyrics seem to be about the Director or from his perspective. I think the line about always loving someone could be relating to Allison and Carolina. Some of the lyrics could be interpreted as being about after everything he did the Director was unable to see any different path except for his obsession. I love the big focus on the great parts of love & how much it can affect a person. I think the overall hopeful sounding instrumentals/vocals represent the decision Carolina & Church made to let go and move on that the Director could never make/find. I love that part of the song is in Japanese I guess Jeff has appreciation for and which is fitting since the next show he worked on the songs for was RWBY. Also the title of the song fits with this this being the 10th season and that they had put a lot of work/effort/love into the show. I want to confirm where the songs played. The more was played in a trailer for this season. Terrify played during 1 of the action portion of the mission in the space junk yard. Terminate was at the end of episode one as York gets sucked into space because he failed at lock picking and in the end credits. Pray played during the fight between Connecticut & the insurrection leader and Carolina & Tex. Forever as you know was played over Connie’s tragic death. Fragments played during the 1st action scene when Tex infiltrated project freelancer to get to Alpha when she was using pickaxes as weapons. Come on Carolina was a bonus song. And now that we have come so far was in the credits. Awesome reaction & discussion. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
