Hey everyone! Here I am with Red vs. Blue, season 12, eps 9 - 10! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT!!!! WOW guys, I knew there must be something more going on here, like the other side wasn't the big evil empire it was made out to be.....but I never saw the heel turn coming!!!!!!! At this point, both sides would be more than willing to make a truce if it weren't for SOME MERCINARIES who have been intentionally fanning the flames of war! But for what? Who? Control? Wasn't Control Carolina??? And here comes Carolina now....!!! So SOMETHING is going on here lol, I can't wait to know more, but WOW what a rollercoaster ride!!!!!!! Felix WHYYYYYYY!!!!!!! >.< What a batch, dang!! Great eps! Enjoy! ~ MH

I think you posted the link for 5-8 again on google drive, instead of 9 and 10!

Sorry!!! For some reason Patreon has been reverting back to the old links when I save the post (not sure why) but I think I fixed it!!! Thanks!

Youre right Hime, it is like Felix and Locus are keeping this war going!

The Ultimate birthday present. Thank you.

And remember my comment on your Season 11 finale, "Season 12 has arguably the greatest RvB villain", well Felix was the villain I was talking about.

You definitely deserve the pat on the back! Your commentary before the reveal was pretty spot on 😂 I think this was one of the most unexpected heel turns that I've seen in shows, but it was so well executed because it makes So Much Sense in retrospect. Only makes the betrayal hurt more though 🥲 Still love the character, but like you said, this is so unexpected from Miles! Just goes to show the flexibility of these VAs, and I'm sure he had a blast with it 😂 Speaking of VAs, we've only just met Dr. Grey and meeting the new people on the Federal Army side was kind of overshadowed by the events of episode 10 but I'm wondering if you picked up on her VA? 🤔 12 seasons in and still just super happy you're reacting to RvB and are so into it! Keep up the great reactions and predictions 🙌

Speaking of Star Wars references, Locus is giving me big Crosshair vibes with the good soldiers follow orders spiel he's been going on. All these justifications and his need to relate to Wash are so interesting. And Wash reflecting on his past was so good. You can tell that he still has regret for all the trouble he's caused the Reds and Blues in the past. Wash shooting at Locus in his dream and it turning out to be himself that he shot really reminded me of when Luke goes into the Dagobah Cave in Empire Strikes Back and he thinks he fights Vader but when he beheads him he sees his own face. This is probably my favorite reveals, definitely top 5 at least. Felix is such an evil sociopath, he just doesn't care lol "Whoever this is is like a next level Palpatine". You have no idea how right you are lol

Now you understand why I said, “eeeh, only two episodes this week should be sufficient.” 😂 Let’s back up for a bit before we go off the rails. First, the little flashback sequence with Washington at the start, but Locus is interjecting his own commentary. Basically Washington is reliving all the memories that eat at him. By the way, that was the Counselor’s voice he was hearing. After all, Washington was just… following orders. I think it’s appropriate to insert a repeated quote from another show you’re watching here: “Good soldiers follow orders.” The Federal Army of Chorus has a few character faces we’re introduced to. Their leader, Donald Doyle (who is ALSO voiced by Gray Haddock, aka Roman Torchwick, and Locus as well). And you’ve also met Dr. Emily Gray, that VERY cheery medic. Can’t place the voice? I wouldn’t expect you to, because she’s doing a complete 180 in personality: that is Arryn Zech, Blake’s VA. The Star Wars references are still getting laid on thick when Wash’s group says “you’re supposed to be the evil empire, with all the ships!” Okay, I’ve beaten around the bush enough: as Sarge says, you’ve been bewildered, besmirched, and possibly, bamboozled! Felix and Locus are definitely keeping this war going. Think about it - e dry time there was a chance for peace something happened to upset the balance of it. The Reds and Blues have been playing right into their hands as very valuable pawns. Miles is usually pretty evil but it comes out in his writing, this time he took your inherent trust of other characters he’s played and his well crafted facade and turned them all on their head. Remember when I said after you saw his cameo, “I wonder how you’ll feel about him after this batch…?” Now you understand where the laughter comes from. Oh, hi Carolina. What have you been up to lately? And who are Felix and Locus really taking orders from? I’ll just leave you on this: Miles sent out a tweet shortly after Episode 10 aired. It just said something like this: “Mwa… mwa ha ha… mwa ha ha… BWAA HA HA HA HA HA!!! 😈” Jaune, how could you!? 😎

Manny

Man they crisscrossed us and crisscrossed us again with a surprise at the end! What would you call that crosscriss? Anyways aaah! Church and Carolina are back!!!! Finally oh my goodness I’m so glad to see them again

And now we come to my biggest problem with the entire Chorus trilogy. Villain Felix. Every time the story is ticking along nicely, here comes Felix to chew scenery for five minutes. He's much less interesting than Locus or Control (no spoilers, we'll get there eventually). And He's. Always. Talking. As a side character he kind of worked, but not as a villain.

2023-03-02 06:31:14 These 2 episodes are great at setting up even more of the stakes of this conflict. Your reaction was fantastic. I can’t believe you said you thought both sides were getting played you were more right than you knew. I also love the character development with Tucker when that hasn’t happened as much with the other guys. This show does a great job with character development. I agree the perspective of Wash looking up at Locus is scary and unsettling. It does seem like Locus sees similarities between himself and Washington with this whole soldier thing which might explain all the interest he has in Wash. Wash wasn’t exactly having a near death experience but it might have been with the head trauma & whatever anesthetics the Federal Army had. It’s very interesting to get a look inside Wash’s head and learn about the stuff he doesn’t like to talk about especially when it comes to still having guilt for the bad things he has done. And it seems like he can see similarities as well when it comes to the mindset he had back then. Interesting that what Washington is saying in this dream/nightmare sound like excuses indicating his shame while Locus is basically saying that being like that is just what a soldier is. The voice acting of Washington at the end of his rope is the best LOL. I like seeing Sarge out of his element with how confusing/different things are. It makes sense why you were skeptical of these explanations from the other side and I think it was purposeful to put the audience in the shoes of characters getting dropped into the middle of a war with little information. I would say when it comes to why war starts as a war goes on long enough those reasons start to sound like excuses. Poor Lopez only getting small amounts of peace. I love the small music theme for Locus it’s appropriately menacing & unsettling. I’m happy the main component of Freckles wasn’t destroyed so we can put him in a new body eventually. I guess it was nice of him to do that? The stuff Locus says is intriguing though. Also Lopez has had so much hilarious dialogue/moments but the bilingual thing might be 1 of his funniest moments LOL. I like Emily quite a bit as well and cheery to the point of scary is a good way to describe her. Honestly none of our crew had a choice except to go along with things since it’s the only way they could get home. It is interesting that both sides are similar and in similar positions which is probably some amount of commentary on how the sides in war are often more similar than different but I think it was also to make the audience think about a truce being possible. You were so close to the truth thinking about the perpetuation of what’s going on. I’m glad Washington is able to be objective about what’s going on and realizing the best option was peace. Simmons talking about something not being right was about the alarm but in a meta way it seems like it’s how they wanted the audience to feel like they knew the answer but were missing something. Seeing someone disintegrate is more messed up than just seeing someone get shot. I think the confusion of not knowing what is happening was depicted well. Right before you got to the start of the reveals I was excited and said here we go LOL. And yeah we or at least I was smiling about all the times you said how much you liked Felix and thought he cared when we knew he what he was really like. I think 1 of us in the comments was agreeing saying he was a great guy. Thinking about it we were being mean sorry LOL. And now we get to 1 of my favorites & I think the best twists in this show. I’m sure it’s difficult but it feels like the change is all a bunch of small changes like talking slower, a different tone and not being much different at all. With Felix being great at manipulating people and great at acting I think classifying him as a sociopath would be fair. Miles voice acting is incredibly impressive with an evil angry edge that is shocking to believe can come from him. There is more to come but I think you might understand to some degree why Miles is so proud of writing this season and why it might be some of his favorite stuff. I think it says a lot about the quality of this writing that while you were hurt your reaction was mostly being really intrigued and impressed and not even feeling angry in the moment. I love how the music that has been played for Felix is slightly different once the reveal happens. I like that you can hear the hostility and anger/hatred Felix and Locus have for each other really well. It’s interesting to see how different they are while working so well together. It’s crazy how well thought out this plan is being so intricate in the perfect way to trick our guys. And the bigger plan is horrifying and sinister it’s such a disturbing long game. It’s a good thing Felix likes to talk and play with his food so to speak or we wouldn’t been able to get all this information. Watching Carolina come in and knock Felix down a peg was very enjoyable. So basically we have a lot to worry about with our enemies having powerful weapons & advanced armor. Yeah after a war goes on long enough even the most bitter enemies will want a truce unless you have some warmongers stoking the fire. I like to hear your theories & speculation because it helps me understand what you’re thinking which I like. Also I think you did a great job trying to figure things out without having all the information. I know you have a lot of questions unfortunately I can’t answer any of them. I’m sure the guys are feeling the same way. You’re just going to have to wait like the rest of us did. Finally the episode title is cloak and dagger referencing Locus’s cloaking armor & Felix being great with knives. Also if anyone deserves some alcohol it’s you for having to deal with all the madness the shows you watch send your way LOL. Awesome reaction & discussion. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

kamenriderhime

Yay!!!! Thank you haha! It was a shock but does make a lot of sense looking back! It's such a twist from Miles too!!! I did not pick up on her VA although I have to admit there was something very familiar!!! Awww thank you, I'm so happy you're happy with my reactions, that makes my whole day!!!! I won't stop with my theories lol!!!! Thank you :D

kamenriderhime

Oh I could see that for sure! I'm intrigued by the connection with Wash and the flashbacks were great! OMG I can totally see the similarities to that scene on Dagobah! It was such a reveal!!!! I still can't believe it! OMG I'm onto something :O I can't wait to know more!!!

kamenriderhime

Right?! What the heck!!! CROSSCRISS lol yes that's what we call it now, I love it! YAY Church and Carolina!!!!!!!! XD

kamenriderhime

Ah ok, interesting take on Felix! I guess he's not for everyone. I'm curious to know more about Locus and Control!

kamenriderhime

Hahahha yes that was a good call :P Oh wow, that's intense that he was reliving it with Locus' narration. OMG someone else drew the comparison to Crosshair and I can totally see it! Yes, I feel like I might have known about Gray Haddock, but OMG that's BLAKE?!?!?! I knew she sounded familiar, wow!! Haahaha loving the Star Wars nods!! Dang, like I knew they were continuing it, I just had no idea it was so intentional!! Oooohhhh you were right about things taking a turn with Miles' character in this one, too true that he knows how to do evil, it just usually comes out in a character that isn't his! YAY Carolina!!!! Seriously, what the heck is going on with Control!!! HAHAHAHA that tweet says everything you need to know :P JAUNE!!!!!!!!!!!! :O

kamenriderhime

Yay!!! Thank you! I can't believe I was so close to the truth lol! It was cool and frightening to see Wash's flashbacks and being face to face with Locus. And it does seem like he's making excuses/ashamed in the dream state too, I agree. Exasperated Wash is the best lol! Yeah the reasoning for war definitely gets old after a while. Poor Lopez lol. And omg, I know, at least Freckles isn't totally gone! OMG the bilingual thing was amazing, I agree it's among the best Lopez lines hahaha! It's so true that this says a lot about war in general. Oh I totally thought Simmons was being meta about the whole situation! And true, Wash is able to be a lot more objective here, he's seen so much of this before I'm sure he can see it for what it is a bit more. Hahahhahaha no they weren't mean at all, it's all part of the fun!!!!! I was extra surprised thanks to liking Felix so much!!! I actually have watched the next eps at this point, and I mention how he was starting to take Wash's place for me a little bit lol, why does it always blow up in my face this way hahha! What a reveal though. I LOVED Miles' work here, both the voice acting and the writing!!! Manipulating everyone that way definitely seems sociopathic for sure. Good thing he's all about the monologue though! Seeing Carolina and Church was amazing!!! We definitely have a lot on our plates right now. I'm so glad you enjoy my discussions and that it helps you to understand where my head's at about it all! Hahha thank you, I could definitely use a drink at this point! And thanks for all the awesomeness and support!!!!! It means a lot!!!
