Hey everyone!  Here's my next reaction to MHA!  Whoa, Nagant's backstory definitely has me empathizing with her a LOT!!!!  A prime example of how awful and corrupt hero society has become, sort of at its core when it comes to the "public face" of the hero society.  But wow, the way that did not even deter Izuku!!!!  If anything, he's like, well now the world needs MORE hope and goodness, so there!!!! Also, using One for All the way he did, and the new ability!!!!!!!!!!  XD  I'm so proud of our boy!!!!!!!  I really hope Nagant's gonna be okay.  To think we can even have that conversation with Overhaul, wow!  Leave it to Izuku to make sure to protect Eri while doing it too!  What a great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

At the end of the of the preview he doesn't say plus ultra he just says (I'm fine. really)

Nagant is such a spectacular and tragic character. You can see all the hope she had when she was younger and for the commission to just drain her of everything until there was nothing left and then just dump her to find a replacement. Its easy to see why she was instantly a favorite when she debuted in the manga. And with those eyes at the end were getting our first glimpse at the rising of Darku

Hey!! Sorry about that, Patreon keeps replacing my links when I post!!! It's so weird!! Is it working now?? Thank you so much!

This episode is probably one of my favorites this season, which is saying a lot cause all of them have been great! The animation blew my mind! Usually when they go all out on animation it’s been for one big climactic moment, but they did it *three* times! And the beginning with All Might scaring those guys through sheer willpower had me freaking out right from the start!

Spadeas

Hi Hime :) We'll start at the beginning, All Might is a boss, a very good driver to avoid detonations, who doesn't hesitate to jump out of the car to avoid the spears and who does a lot of pressure just by his presence (that also recalls me the scene with Stain, who also had put pressure on the heroes before his arrest). Fa Jin, as explained, accumulates energy thanks to a repeated movement, to then redistribute it all at once, well used it can be dangerous and with Deku, it will be well used, we already know that. Even the third realizes it. And yes, the story of Lady Nagant is not very beautiful, she wanted to be a heroine, the commission made her a killer on their behalf, and even if it was surely for a greater good (arresting those who would never be judged), it also broke her... Now she only sees the hypocrisy of the heroic society, like Stain again, who wanted to kill the "false heroes", but who recognizes Izuku as a real hero, worthy of All Might, which Nagant also recognizes . Speaking of Izuku, does he really need to go back to school now? No because with his experiences, his skills, his way of thinking and his heart, he is more valid than many heroes now... He has gained great maturity, unfortunately, he complains in his isolation and loneliness for "protecting" those he cares about, and we know that's never the way to go...

kamenriderhime

She is! It's tragic to see what happened to her. I definitely get why folks attached to her. OMG Darku :P But yeah, things are getting even more real!!!

kamenriderhime

I can see why!!! It was so awesome! They really outdid themselves! OMG seriously, All Might was a friggin boss here, what a way to kick us off!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) Absolutely he is!! I never knew what a great driver he was, dang. Thanks for clarifying that about Fa Jin! Poor Lady Nagant, what a tragedy. It's amazing that after all that she can still see light in Izuku. I mean, I'd say he's probably getting more hands on experience than he'd ever get in school!!! He's even more mature, it's amazing to see how much he's grown. But yeah, I'm worried about some of the things I'm seeing here for sure!

Cody

Usually I’m quiet when I freak out about anime, cause normally I watch this at night. But with RWBY exclusive to Crunchyroll, I’ve started watching it and MHA back to back in the morning, so I was screaming during this episode. XD

2023-03-08 19:47:36 This episode was absolutely incredible. Great reaction as well. I love the start of the episode with All Might. The one small Time villain’s spear power reminds me of thunder spears from attack on Titan. I love that All Might with his already intense intimidation & resolve has even more because of basically becoming this kid’s father and the promises he made of doing everything for him to the point of death but also to live. These villains really thought they could take this man LOL. No matter how much weaker he is now he is still All Might with the reflexes & experience of a hero and his own sheer intimidating presence that freezes them in terror. Also it has been a while since we have seen his eyes like that the animation was on point. I love the strategy at play from both Izuku & Lady N with him trying to throw off her aim and using his speed/quirks to the most advantage & her using her experience & air walk in combination with her rifle’s recoil to move faster/farther. The fact that he can kick bullets out of the air is crazy. I like that danger sense isn’t infallible especially with how fast her shots are because otherwise it might take away from the stakes. And something interesting is that danger sense didn’t go off the 1st time because she was shooting at his communicator not him. You can clearly tell how confident Lady is with her little smirk. It’s still so cool that Izuku can just talk with the vestiges like this. I love how Fa Jin looks & I will talk about why the power itself is awesome later. I think his plan here was great especially the decoys. You can see Lady’s skill here with how she avoids capture & almost incapacitates Deku. I’m so glad he is now trying to understand his enemies because her story is fantastic. It’s interesting but dark that hero society has been built on so much death. Basically anything that could shake the public’s trust in heroes was dealt with in the shadows like criminal heroes or people seeing heroes as not being able to deal with more serious incidents like terrorism. Currently vigilantes are illegal/frowned upon but it’s scary that they were legal until the safety commission decided otherwise. Lady Nagant absolutely covered in blood is 1 of the darkest things in this show and of course all she could see constantly were her blood soaked hands when she was in the light. You really put it well that the dichotomy of the 2 sides of hero society would break anyone’s brain. It makes sense that after seeing the 2 faced nature of the society she would see it all as a sham. The members of the safety commission are not inherently corrupt because they are trying to do what’s best for society but the system has become so corrupt because it’s impossible to keep it going forever & hypothetically the more desperate they got the more likely the members becoming corrupt was. And if any of them were corrupt in a malicious way things would have been/become so much worse. Also something I saw that I agree with is the possibility that once All Might stabilized society the commission became more intense with what they did because they were desperate not to go back to the dark times that were basically anarchy. I think she wanted to give the chairman a chance to show there was a higher purpose to all this. It’s interesting that the reason she went so far to kill a lot of the commission was because she thought they wouldn’t be able to or would stop covering all of this up. It’s sad that they just continued the lie & put her away for life. It’s crazy that she was dealing with him so easily while delivering this speech. I think it’s so important that Izuku now fully realizes how so much of the world Is shades of grey so he can hopefully improve it. I think it’s awesome how he uses black whip and the air blasts to get to a specific target faster than he could normally. I love how what he takes from this is how much more important helping anyone is although I don’t think it’s good that this is causing him to put more pressure on himself. I think lady was saying all for one is better because he does all the terrible stuff in the light basically saying if we are going to do this dark stuff we might as well be honest about it. I was getting really emotional later in the episode but I started to really feel for her once we saw the commission recruiting her and seeing her innocent, happy, hopeful face knowing what they then put her through. Especially sad to think about that light/spark going out of her eyes. Even though it was dark & twisted her plan to kill Chisaki to get Izuku distracted was smart especially knowing heroes. Some of the quirks in this world are kind of disturbing with body horror sometimes. Seeing Overhaul in this state of despair was upsetting because of how it was presented. Also it’s even worse for him because if you don’t recall he put his father into a coma basically with his ability with the intention to heal him once he made their group strong again but can’t do that anymore without his arms. It’s interesting that revenge isn’t even on his mind anymore. Imagine how shocked Izuku was seeing Overhaul out of nowhere after so long I bet he was like WTF LOL. Now I can talk about why Fa Jin is so amazing. The power to store kinetic energy and release it at will is so strong because it’s easy to activate and not only can it increase speed like we see here I think we can assume it can increase the strength of attacks if used right. It seems like it could be dangerous to the person if you didn’t understand it very well fortunately Izuku is very intelligent. Combining abilities in a way that allows him to go as fast as All Might without hurting himself is so clever it’s always great to see his mind at work. I love hearing the 3rd user talking about this and realizing just how intelligent Izuku really is. And the animators really went crazy with how they depicted this attack’s speed by having his character model be super stretched out and the after images as well as the great looking speed lines. Also the colors were really pretty. I think Lady either gave up or was so hurt she couldn’t concentrate enough to continue using air walk. Just seeing her bloody hand and arm as the different parts of her life are shown is such amazing imagery especially once he came to help because it’s him literally/symbolically reaching out to her. Her talking about lip service making her sick reminds me of something All Might & then Izuku have said that a hero’s job is to make lip service a reality. I love how he brings up how she wasn’t going for the kill showing her true colors of wanting to help people that she didn’t lose even with what the commission put her through. I love that she recognizes his kindness and other traits of a true hero because of everything that happened. And this shows that Izuku’s decision to try to understand and reach out to his enemies works even if it doesn’t work on everyone it’s worth it to try at least since it could lead to saving/helping people like Nagant. With AFO being so intelligent it’s no surprise he has contingencies for betrayals but it still sucks that this happened to her. Even when no one is around he still needs to insult his pawns when they have served their usefulness. Also why is he just hanging out in a random cave by himself like what LOL. It’s so fitting that her replacement Hawks who understands what she went through better than anyone else comes to help her. What he says to her about not giving up is beautiful especially because those words along with Deku’s actions help her remember her original desire to help people when she still had that light in her eyes. I love that what kept Hawks going in the darkest times with what the commission ordered him to do was the hope Endeavor gave him as a child. Her injuries look really bad & I wouldn’t be surprised if it looked worse in the manga. It really shows the kind of person Izuku is that even with someone who he so obviously hates like Overhaul he is willing to try to understand & reach out to him once he sees the remorse he feels for his father. I imagine he isn’t planning to have Overhaul see Eri in person to apologize if he can be truly sorry because that would be too traumatizing unless she wanted that I think it’s more if Izuku sees that Kai feels true remorse towards Eri then he will be willing to help. I think what AFO is doing is making Deku’s resolve & determination to go against him stronger but I don’t think it’s a good thing. Mostly because this is the angriest and darkest I have ever seen his eyes. And especially with him looking dead inside in multiple shots I have a bad feeling about what he is going through. I think your discussion about morality and the MHA society with the good and the bad things was really well said. I agree that going back to society as it was isn’t what we want however getting back to a peaceful state is a good 1st step to have the opportunity to change things. This show & its messages mean a lot to me too so it was nice to hear your opinions about that. Finally the way Izuku says “I’m fine, really.” In the preview is the most depressing thing I have ever heard in this show :-(. Awesome reaction & discussion/thoughts. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Thanks so much!!! That's a good point about the similarity to the thunder spears! And lol like seriously, those guys had no idea what they were in for with All Might!!! I don't care how much weight he's lost! The fight strategy between Nagant and Izuku was interesting to see too. Her past tells a really bleak story about hero society for sure! The vigilantes, sheesh. I can see exactly how she got so disillusioned when the hero society was built on so much violence and politics like you said. The blood soaked image was dark for sure! I think you're right that it's not the people of the commission who are all twisted, it's the system itself that's gotten out of control. Good point about All Might too. And extra heartbreaking that her point in killing members of the commission was to get things out in the open which didn't even happen. I see some of the argument on Nagant's part that at least All for One is honest about his villainy but still. Seeing some of her true self come through was so touching! I think you're right that it's important for Izuku to know exactly what's going on in the world so that he can change it. Also thank you for the reminder about Overhaul, that does add some insult to injury about how he can't heal his father now because of his arms! Yikes. Fa Jin does seem like it could be really dangerous but thankfully Izuku has spent enough time in mutter mutter mode to really have thought it through! The ability combo was so sweet and it's awesome that even the other users are impressed! The reaching out scene was so moving and excellent point that Izuku's strategy is worth trying since it worked in this case too. The lip service line really did come back full circle, wow, I didn't even remember that! Good call! I love that Izuku and Hawks help her remember her true self. Good call that the remorse about Eri is probably enough since actually bringing him to Eri wouldn't be good for her. Thank you so much about my discussion, I'm glad you enjoyed it!! His eyes though! And the "I'm fine" line, omg! :O I'm so glad you enjoyed my reaction and thank you again for being so awesome and supportive! Sorry it's been taking me forever to write back but I enjoyed reading what you had to say! Thank you! ^_^
