Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2, episode 13 of The Bad Batch!  Omg!!!  After last ep, this one was paradise - literally!  Well, even Pabu has its issues....if it's not the Empire, it's natural disasters!!!  I felt so bad for them but thankfully no lives were lost.  Buildings can be rebuilt I suppose!  But it does make you wonder if this isn't like the BEST environment ever for Omega!  But it's a fair point that how were our Dads even know there was something more she needed, since they never got it themselves?  Also, always a pleasure to have Phee around!!!
Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

The opening definitely felt like something Han Solo would be up to, getting into trouble in bars, and I think like Solo, Phee shoots first. I've seen Omega take out people with her bow, but she point blank kills a goon here and I do find myself stunned at it; she's taking no prisoners these days!! You can definitely see she is a relation to Jango and Boba Fett alright. The bit with the bell too is great, what a way to go! I can't help but see the juxtaposition of our crew here being in an island paradise, whilst Crosshair is going through dark times under the Empire. I like this episode, its a breather from the heaviness of the last one and for our crew its an opportunity to show how they can have a life outside of soldiering and being on the run. This is a place they can settle down and live in peace. However, the earthquake and subsequent carnage that happens later is there to remind us that they will not get that chance. Was looking at the behind the scenes of this episode, and it was being developed when we were all in our houses due to the Covid lockdown; and the designers thought of this place as where they would all love to be during that time.

You know, the opening scene reminded me of another franchise’s scene, and I’m paraphrasing a little here but “why is it whenever any chais erupts it is always you guys?” :) So the show seems to be hinting at some sort of “thing” between Tech and Phee, but let’s get real - Tech and anyone is gonna be awkward at best. 😅 Are you okay, I think you might’ve started hyperventilating a little during the dinner scene. 😂 “Look, please don’t be the Empire… anything but the Empire.” Show: “Okay. Send in the killer tsunami!” Of course the last scene’s argument reminded me of a debate going on in another show, about whether it’s more important to save people, or the infrastructure they call home. I think you probably can figure out which one I’m talking about. I always get suspicious whenever we go someplace nice in Star Wars… because inevitably, something always happens. In this case: “The Empire has no reason to come here.” - During this line the camera is on Omega. I’m on to you, Dave Filoni… Oh, and last, you do bring this up frequently but… I wouldn’t read too much into “we don’t see these characters in later stories…” - there’s a good reason for that, they were created after those shows were finished. Even Ahsohka was made after the prequels completed. They’re just going around and filling in the gaps with original characters, but just because you DON’T see them doesn’t necessarily mean something bad happened. As long as the canon rules apply, anything else is fair game around it. :)

Man that was a bummer. That word stability really stuck out. We know that they are capable of fending for themselves. They know the terrain out there but even just the thought of stability isn’t something they know much of. We haven’t seen a lot of that. And the end makes it seem like they can never get too complacent, even in the most peaceful place. :(

I can totally see that!!! Yeah that's true about killing the goon, I hadn't even really realized that but yeah, she's not messing around! The bell hahaha!! It's so true that you can really see the contrast in stories and surroundings. It was so sad to see this peaceful place get shaken to its core, no pun intended! Oh wow, no kidding about the reasoning behind designing a place like Pabu!!! It sounds like some of this writing was somewhat cathartic then!

Hahahahha that phrase definitely applies here! I noticed they were hinting at a possible ship there....but yeah, it might be a bit awkward! LOL I'm never okay around food :P OMG, the show must've heard me and decided to give me another case of "be careful what you wish for"! Oh yeah, I can see just what you mean about those similarities! Omg, I know - it's like we can't have nice things!!! That was definitely some Dave Filoni mischief putting the camera on Omega during that line! That's the thing, it's not necessarily bad if you don't see someone, because like you said, this was all created out of order somewhat. It is a big galaxy after all!

I know!!!! Stability is something there isn't a whole lot of in the galaxy right now! Surviving is one thing, but thriving is another. But that's true, you can never get complacent! If it's not the Empire, it's a tsunami, sheesh!
