Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2, episode 14 of The Bad Batch!  So our stories start to converge!  I really DO NOT like this new doctor, although he's interesting for sure.  Seeing Echo and co. again was really great!  And Chuchi!  Bless her for keeping on top of this!  I have my theories on what they're doing with the clone prisoners.  Thankfully, everything worked out to where our crew got at least part of Crosshair's message....it's too bad the trust is so broken they can't even be sure it isn't a trap.  But I have a feeling this is where things heat up even more for the finale!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

After the colour of the previous episode, we open with the grey bleakness of the Empire watching prisoners be transported. One of them is Howser who we saw in the first season and was Cham Syndulla's clone commander, where he tries to get the rest of his clones to wake up to what the Empire is already doing to Ryloth. He and his clones were arrested after that and hence they ended up here. Always like to see stormtroopers go up against clones, who time and again show they are (literally) a different breed of soldier. Love when the imperial venator drops in and unleashes the V-Wings and we hear an incomplete Imperial March playing. Though this is the Empire, its not Star Destroyers and TIE's just yet. I wonder if we'll start to see them introduced in season 3 of the show. Crosshair even drugged, is still so deadly with a gun, taking out about 8 stormtroopers to try and get his warning message to the rest of the crew out. He's lost hope for himself, which is why he doesn't escape, but he can try to get the rest of Clone Force 99 away from danger. When we get back to Pabu we see how our crew are settling in there, especially Wrecker. I note there is slight development with him here. When we first meet him, he's never happier than when he's causing destruction and blowing things up. Here, he is helping fix things and provide. He is showing he doesn't need to be a demolitions expert now to be happy. Omega looks to be a natural at flying. Picking up some notes from Hera and Tech, she'll be just fine I bet. The heat vents at the back are glowing hot suggesting the poor Marauder is getting worked over big time with her flying! She'll get there. :) Hemlock has a gloved left hand he always holds with his right. I wonder what that's all about. With him being an expert cloner and into all sorts of experimentation, has he done something to that hand? Guess we'll see. And now he wants the clones they have, that have been causing the Empire trouble, in his 'care'. I can't help but think back to the early TCW episodes, where even if they died horribly, the Jedi would always have their back. And now we are here with them and I have a feeling its just going to go from bad to worse for their story. Nice bit of dialogue between Hunter and Echo. Hunter is looking to put down roots permanently, whilst Echo is with Rex, deep in the fight against the Empire. Hunter may sound a bit distant when he asks 'when will it be enough', but he understands why Echo won't give up; Rex didn't with him, he can't do now for the other clones who will need help. So our crew find out about the facility on Mount Tantiss, but don't know its location and whether to trust Crosshair's warning; yet they do now know they are back being hunted - what next...

“Oh man, I really messed up the intro timing this round… I can tell…!” … *reactor doesn’t realize she’s timed it perfectly for once. 😂 I think I might’ve seen one shot of Rex, but it is nice to know what he and Echo are up to… also are Imperial commanders good for anything besides yelling at stormtroopers? And have you noticed all stormtroopers act really tough when they don’t think there’s a threat? So, since Dr. Hemlock is in contact with Moff Tarkin that’s a sure fire way to get you to warm up to him, right? I’m not sure about the side, there could be something, but it’s also possible you might be reading a little too much into it? Has an interrogation droid ever yielded results in this franchise, now that I think about it…? My theory as to why Crosshair contacted the others was because I don’t think he felt he had anywhere else left to turn. It’s a gamble on both sides, because there’s a lot of trust issues. Of course, when Hemlock is trying to, for lack of a better word, “sweet talk” him, he’s already seen what’s really going on. So there’s that, too. The penultimate episode and the finale show up next week. The only thing you can predict on this show is it won’t just be people… spending all day standing around and talking. 😜

Yes Omegas flying lessons did remind me of learning how to drive with my parents. The dog days 😭 Ugh I hate those noises too. It makes me squeamish 🧠 💉

kamenriderhime

OMG you totally get it!!! We've all been there!!! Omg right?! Like talk about an effective use of sound, I absolutely felt it during those noises :/

kamenriderhime

Hahahha did I really get it right this time?!!?! It's so hard to tell until I play it back :P Oh I must've missed him! It is nice to catch up isn't it. Seriously, the commanders are so useless!! Lol that's so true about stormtroopers too. Hahahha Tarkin was not the one to show to me :P I'm probably reading too much into it, but had to throw it out there! The interrogation droids don't always get great results do they? Yeah, you could be right about Crosshair - it was the logical decision. But I also feel like it was partly emotional/caring....that could just be because I'm reading too deeply into his newfound realizations though! Hahaha there's not much predictable, but it's for sure predictable that it won't be boring!!!

Ohhhh I didn't even realize that about Howser, good call! So true about clones vs. stormtroopers. That was a great scene with the partial Imperial March and V-Wings! It's very early on still, who knows about season 3 though. I know, Crosshair at like 2% capacity is still lethal lol. I'm sad for him but love how much he was trying to help the rest of his old team. I thought about that that Omega had flown with Hera before too!!! She's gonna be just fine! Hmm, interesting about the hands, I hadn't noticed that. I know, we've come a long way from CW..... :( That's so true about where the members of our crew are at - on the one hand, putting down roots could be really good, but I also see how they'd want to keep fighting. What next indeed!!!! I can't believe I'm finishing off the season next time, so I'll find out soon!!!
