Red vs. Blue: Family Shatters 1 - 11 & Restoration Trailer - reaction & review (Patreon)

Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to the last season to date of Red vs. Blue!  WOW guys, this one was SO MUCH FUN!!!!  This kind of character interaction made me like this crew so much more, and the skits were just too silly and awesome!  This is truly Zero Chibi :P  And to be honest, it kinda fleshed out the characters more for me, which is something I really wanted last season!  How can you not love the sitcom style??  Or skits about things like bully wasps, getting a pet, planning a beach episode, etc.?!  Not to mention the holiday special and the CAMEOS!!!!  And then there's the trailer.....OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So are we gonna be dealing with what Church did in those final moments?  Who the heck was the figure?!  I cannot wait to find out!  What an amazing journey this has been you guys!  It's coming to a pause, not an end - and I'll be doing more RT goodies in the future too!!!!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

It feels so surreal to be at the end of this, seems like I’ve been feeding you info on it for a while. Obviously this whole season is a spoof, but your comparison with Chibi is pretty close to the truth. It does indeed develop the characters better. You gotta love the old 99s sitcom tropes, like the intro and the musical intro with the wide shot of the base. As far as individual notes: The city shots in the intro music were actually shots of downtown Austin, where, of course, RT is located. Why am I not surprised you’d have a soft spot for getting a pet. Also, RIP Mr. Bubbles, but Phase is sneaky. Like a cat. Oh no, not the dad jokes, wasn’t Tai bad enough? I think that might be the closest I’ve ever seen you come to falling over during a reaction. The joke with Zero and the Shatter Squad interfacing with Phase and East is when they get switched nobody notices. You didn’t think we’d do 19 seasons of this without a beach episode did you? Unfortunately, budget cuts also cut the animation when they all walked away… I’m pretty sure that’s what happened to the caption button too. Freaky Friday? Which one? But again, the joke is Phase and East are already kinda the same person…? Also if you’re a female, never ask a guy to notice what’s different if you want the relationship to stay healthy… 😅 It figures Axel would be the one to solve a lawnmower escape room - and everyone loves to mess with Raymond… wait… everybody…loves… Raymond… doh I just got it! Phase is the subject of many rumors but the walls are thin - “she tamed the wild beast” - translation/she’s feeding the cat. Zero does seem like the kind of guy with a routine. But the alarm clock with a target? That’s clever! Hehehe, I know you’d love the wasp! Or the double agent! This is my RT related revenge for you making me suffer through all your RWBY related bee buzzing! I’ve been waiting! Poetic Justice has finally been served! (In all honesty though, the irony was just too good not to make the reference!) 😈 Lopez speaks Latin because Spanish is a Latin American language, Sarge is stuck in the wastebasket, and Santa showed up. The animated appearance is Gus Sorola, who is indeed Simmons’ VA. West’s little film noir section is not unlike one Neptune does during a RWBY Chibi skit (there’s even a reference to spilled milk to boot.) Overall it’s just good fun. Now, regarding the trailer… the videos Epsilon are processing are from the entire series, even before the end of S13 - so now my question becomes - is Epsilon really still here and we’ve been simulating everything all this time? After all they were set up to be simulation troopers from the start… My theory on the figure is it might be Tex. The dialogue and the voice filter as well as what it is saying adds up. When Zero came out a couple years ago it released in early November. So I wonder if we’re looking at a similar time frame for Restoration. Either way, I’m excited. There is one thing that will probably be changed, unfortunately - I don’t know how much Caboose will have to do in this season, but the VA for him left after Season 17 ended - I don’t know all the details, but it was less than a stellar parting - the character has shown up in a couple things with different voices, but he doesn’t sound the same since. I figured I should let you know in advance. Now here’s the question: what is your favorite season? For me, it probably has to be 6, just the buildup from Washington’s intro, to the truth about Blood Gulch to the bomb drops about Church, all while letters are being written. It’s been a pleasure being your “Dear RvB Director” for the last 21 months. 🫡 And we have one final ride left. Camp Camp is obviously good, but it makes sense you’d want those special reactions of JLxRWBY and AoT done first. But it’s actually the last non current RT content we have left for you, so yes please! PS: Unrelated to this , but I left a JJK comment on Friday night, did you miss it? 👀

Man we’re finally done. For now. I can’t believe it! Those were great! And I’m definitely behind that idea to scatter some parts to get to know them more within the zero story. I loved the Freaky Friday and of course the holiday special! My favorite would have to be dad jokes. I’m surprised they didn’t make a skit about pizza. Although it’d probably be too cheesy! 💥💥💥💥💥

I know, what a journey it's been!!! You've been most kind to help with my schedule for it too!!! I'm glad you agree that it's this show's version of Chibi lol. Gotta love those 90s sitcoms! That's so funny about no one noticing with Phase and East. And the Freaky Friday stuff was amazing!!! Love the running gag there and I also love the movie (the 2003 one is the only one I've seen)! LOL that's a loaded question to ask a guy what's different :P Beach episode!!!! Too bad we never actually got to see the beach! OHHHHH everybody loves Raymond, WOW!!! Also yeah, Axel was born to solve that challenge. I mean, pet cats are kinda like wild beasts anyway, so that rumor's not totally unfounded. Gotta love Zero's alarm clock! HAHAHAHAHAHA this was you all along wasn't it, plotting revenge for the buzzing of the Bees!! Hahahaha! You guessed right with the wasp! Love the joke about accidentally making Lopez speaking Latin, the cameos were just so good, I loved seeing Sarge and I thought that sounded like Simmons! Ohhh yeah there was that noir skit in Chibi wasn't there! WHOA, that's wild to think about the implications of everything being shown on the screens in the trailer. Also I was sort of thinking Tex too. Here's hoping we get it soon! Awww that's too bad about Caboose, someone did mention that and I'm bummed about it! Ohhhhh good question! Honestly six is definitely right up there for me. The reveal alone is so well done but there's also so much more like Wash, etc. It's hard not to go with 10 too, it's def in the top. But there's so much build up to that that makes it worthwhile too. Hahah you've totally been the "Dear Director" for my RvB reactions, thanks again for all your help! It was so nice having it all sorted out ahead of time! Definitely helped enhance the experience for me and also made the housekeeping easier! I'm excited for Camp Camp!!! I don’t have much to say about your thoughts before you started season 18 because I can’t add to your great thoughts. I do agree that even if a show changes dramatically as long as it’s done well it doesn’t matter how different a show is it will almost certainly be good or even great. Just look MHA & AOT and where those stories go. I really enjoyed your reaction to the Restoration teller I could feel your excitement and hype you were/are I felt the same. This trailer seems to act as a prologue of sorts. I’m sure the humor will still be there but from the trailer alone the tone seems much more serious. It’s sad that Tex/Allison is constantly on Epsilon’s mind in what he assumes are his last moments. My theory and a lot of people’s theory about the mystery figure is Sigma because of the slight red/orange coloring & the fire reflected in Church’s helmet & that character being involved in the story of the final season can’t be good especially with the image of the Director showing up. Also the dialogue about his voice is most likely could not get Elijah Wood back to voice the character so decided to integrate the new voice actor into the story they are planning to tell with the final season in some way. One thing this trailer means is that everything after season 13 is not canon anymore which some people aren’t sure how to feel about. However I don’t think this means all that character development won’t happen it will still happen in this final season just not in the same way as we saw it & some of it might not happen in the final season we might just have to assume that any character development/characterization will happen after the story is over. Also Church having run an unimaginable amount of simulations with the voice acting at the end of the trailer got me emotional. I really hope this will be as awesome of a story as the trailer promises but I trust everyone working on the show especially with Burnie & Matt Hullum at the helm. I agree I can’t wait to see the story the final season Restoration has in store. I can’t believe you have been watching this show for years it’s crazy. I really appreciated your words at the end of the video about why you enjoy watching shows alongside your subscribers. Thank you for always putting out such great content. I always enjoy the videos. And I can’t wait for you to experience Camp Camp I think it’s awesome. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

The trailer definitely got me hyped! I think it may be tricky trying to keep in mind what's canon and what's not, but I'm sure it'll be a fun ride regardless! Yay!!
