Hey everyone!  Here I am with the OP of Oshi no Ko!!!!  WOW!!!  I think they did an amazing job with the english version!  The lyrics really highlighted so many parts of Ai's journey - the facade, the need for feeling love, the overwhelming amount of lies that the whole persona was built on, etc.  Not to mention the musical cues go with the lyrics so well, which I could really appreciate more after hearing a version with lyrics I could understand.  Now I wanna learn the dance even more!!  Great song!  Enjoy!!!  ~ MH

When you talking about persona, I remembered that each of Kamen Rider Ghost form's face is called persona. Then I suddenly think... what if the Kamen Rider of Ghost series could use Ai Damashii.

I know I recommended it before but I can't remember if I passed along the link, but here is AmaLee's English cover of Yoasobi's IDOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN0-dRNsmRM Written by a native English speaker, it uses slang and nuance in a way that really works in English.

So like I mentioned previously, but it’s worth mentioning again. This song has a unique place in musical history as it’s the first song created in original Japanese to hit #1 on the Global Billboard Charts (which covers everything outside North America I believe.) As far as the English translation, the reason it’s fitting so well is OL because the lead singer spent equal amounts of time in Tokyo and Chicago if I read that right. Regarding the song itself, there’s no mistaking the intent: the entire thing is extracted from Ai’s dialogue during her death scene and reflects both the side she shows to others at the start, but gradually becomes that much more internal until she’s actually finally telling the truth to herself. Also something I picked up on: Aqua was named after her tears. I wonder if there’s any significance to that? It does fit, but it’s something to think about! Okay, you can go shop iTunes now, if you haven’t done it already - because it’s a crime for any anime music lover not to include this in their library, given the significance of it. (Btw when they voted on beat opening song for Spring this year, Idol got 23% of the vote. By comparison, the runner up got only 9%.) Between learning the Idol Dance, and the Camp Camp theme song you have some practicing to do now. Shall I call Pieyon back over? 👀 PS: Your dog texted me earlier, says she’s planning on pranking you in your sleep tonight. Just a heads up. 😎

OMG thank you!!! I LOVE AmaLee!! I do remember you mentioning it. I'd love to hear what her version sounds like and how the lyrics flow when they're adapted by a native English speaker!

WOW!! That is so cool about the song! I love that it's all from Ai's perspective, particularly her words during her death scene. OHHHHHH I never even thought about Aqua being named for her tears!!! Hahaha so true that this one is a MUST for the iTunes, in fact I think I already had it before watching the show :P Oohhh yes I have some practice between Camp Camp and this huh? HAHAHAHA I'd never be able to get anything done thanks to Pieyon's voice :P LOL my dog pranks me in my sleep every night :P
