[POLL] A new year, a new focus!
- Episode 2 Enhanced 14
- Episode 3 18
Hi all! Welcome to the first poll of the new year of 2024! I hope everyone had a great new year's celebration and is doing well!
Aside from the development of the detailed walkthrough of Cara in Creekmaw that will begin once I'm back, there is also the decision of what area I should focus on game-wise.
This decision essentially boils down to deciding between the development of Episode 2 Enhanced or Episode 3!
Episode 2 Enhanced
This option will bring with it several new scenes that will be added to the current list of scenes found in Episode 2, ranging from new scene variations to brand-new perspectives played from the eyes of other characters (no spoilers yet!).
In addition, there will be small enhancements to a few scenes from Episode 1, but fret not! If you have unlocked the replays of these scenes, the variations should be easily selectable and replayable even when these enhancements are added (i.e. they will be presented as choices selectable in the replay itself)!
On top of this, there will be updates to the look and feel of the replay and secret render gallery, which currently looks dated and barebones in its current iteration!
Episode 3
This option is the continued development and production of Episode 3; the continuation of the story presented in Episode 2!
With how varied everyone's choices must have been, Episode 3 seeks to deliver on all fronts, whether you chose to support one major character or another, whether you decided to have someone meet their unfortunate end or not, and whether or not you chose Tiffany or Trinity to be a futa, every branch will have it's continuation!
The difference between the two choices?
Of course, these two choices vary wildly in terms of their respective development times. While Episode 2 Enhanced would take an estimated two months to complete, Episode 3 would most likely take the entirety of six months to complete, similar to Episode 2 and its development time.
Why not split Episode 3 into parts like how Episode 1 was handled?
Simply put, the big episode format allows me to better encapsulate and formulate a more cohesive story. Having the extra legroom in terms of additional days to play around with during the planning phases allows me to better plan for and execute the payoffs of certain paths and routes taken.
One aspect that I'm striving to avoid is to have the build-up and payoff of a scene (i.e. a vore scene) be in two separate episodes, as I believe that this kills the momentum of the build-up and only serves to confuse you, the player, and me while the scene is being developed. The episodic format release helps to prevent this, as only major story-related choices should persist through episodes, and not the build-up and payoff of any steamy scene!
With that said, I'll leave the decision to you guys! Should I spend my time developing Episode 2 Enhanced or Episode 3?
