I'm halfway through this episode and I'm about to turn this shit off lol Wtf did they do to my girl Suki!?

Stan

Do not watch the 2010 live action movie it’s on par with the 2009 Dragon Ball evolution movie that we will never speak of.

I'm glad you guys can enjoy this but this was pretty awful to me. The Kyoshi action scene at the end was super cool looking but man the writing is not doing it for me. They're changing shit and replacing it with scenes that don't even make sense half the time. Suki wanting to experience the world does not explain her being randomly and aggressively attracted to Sokka. It was felt forced and a bit creepy. It's weird to me that they turned what was a normal girl who gradually developed an attraction to Sokka into a boy-crazy stalker. She was acting more obsessed then the little girl obsessed with Aang in the fortune teller episode lol It sucks because I love Suki in the original. She's a cool character. Only positive for this episode is the actress they got to play Suki is fantastic and absolutely gorgeous. She gave the most grounded performance in the show so far for me even after having to do a bunch awkward obsessive scenes. The actor playing Iroh is pretty good too but even he seems to be trying too hard to sound old and wise sometimes. Sometimes he looks and sounds like he's in an Avatar SNL sketch or something lol Maybe some fans are loving this but it's not doing it for me.

Watching this has me thinking of The Legend of Vox Machina in that they had to distill hours of story for 1 season while balancing providing something 'new' for existing fans and hook and engage new fans. Also saw that thae actor that is portraying Aang was 12 going 13 when they filmed. So that's pretty awesome imho.

Sadly I have to agree with you. I enjoyed the blue spirit episode and that’s about it. The writing and the acting is disappointing

Btw I'll stop with the long rants in the comments for upcoming episodes. Just to be clear, I was reacting in real time to the episodes since I've been watching with you guys so emotions were high haha I'm going to give it one more episode and if I don't like it, I'll drop it and just stick to the Reacher and Avatar Season 2 videos. I don't want to be a downer on here if others are enjoying it

Did yall know Mark Hamill did the voice of the Firelord in the animated series?

I get why some may have liked the OG Suki, but she was kind of annoyingly flawless. The only thing resembling a flaw with her was her occasional losses in fights. That and I always thought it was weird that they were treating Kyoshi Island like a Japanese Themyscira (Wonder Woman's home) in a weird police state. Live-Suki & Kyoshi Island have realistic family ties and emphasizes the island isolation. Plus, you wanna talk about CREEPY; the animation had Sokka immediately get really attracted to someone that beat him up and had her enjoy doing it repeatedly. (In front of her peers no less.) Yikes. I have been greatly enjoying the way the live-action writers have been respecting the characters more than the OG's did. They've been essentially making everyone just a little more mature to the point they aren't putting each other down in immature or kind of cruel ways. In short, I appreciate the fact that the live-action writers are giving the characters more sensible personalities while still keeping most of their main flaws.
