Hell of an episode right here, peeps!

Things come to a head once more as Raven continues to brief Major General Armstrong on the military's plans for their immortal army..

Meanwhile, a sinister presence appears in the tunnel beneath the Briggs fortress, Major Miles stalls Kimblee (despite a great deal of tension), and the Elrics finally come face to face with the Crimson Alchemist...

Out in the snow, Marcoh and Mei Chang hit a snag in their efforts to decipher the Alkahestry texts and we get another little window into Hohenheim...

It's a thick one, but pretty friggin' awesome one if I do say so.  Definitely a highlight episode.

Join me, peeps!!!

Needless to say I got more than a few potential thumbs for this one, but these were my favorite alternates - complete with an ever-so-slightly different collage!

You’re on the right track when it comes to your Hohenheim theory! That moment where Armstrong takes out Raven is one of my top moments in the show and solidified her as one of my favorite characters. Glad you dug it!

I had no recollection of this episode lol. And while watching it I was thinking how much I cant stand Raven, just due to how petty and not self aware he is , how homunculi are just using him cause he is still human. And it was so satisfying when Amstrong just puts her sword through his arm it was so worth it. Like at least Kimblee is self are and he owns the bad guy role , so to me hes not as obnoxious, lol. As for the intro bit, I really liked it too. I think im just biased towards characters and archetypes like hohenheim. Character that lived hundreds of years and is full of regret and is kinda broken inside . Most times they are not written well, but even in live action stuff like thousand year old vampires or whatever, i just like it , lol. And yeah that was a solid episode

That was SUCH a gratifying moment. Like.. I know something else horrible will probably rear its ugly head to balance the scales again, but in that moment.. SO BADASS. And yess!! Glad I wasn't totally off-base with that 😅there are a lot'a details to keep in order, so sometimes I wonder if I'm talking nonsense 😝

2021-07-15 05:23:12 Oh snap! Seems like a pretty rad episode to see with totally fresh eyes, then! Definitely feel ya about Raven. I remember when they first introduced him, he seemed like such a warm presence, then when you realize what's going on he's just.. endlessly smug and over-self assured haha. One of the most out-and-out satisfying deaths for sure. What they've been able to do so far with Kimblee I think is actually kinda impressive just because.. he's pretty evil and seems to know & embrace that, which is hard to pull off in some ways, but yeah.. he just feels like a guy who owns his appetites and his place in the world. He's like a more interesting version of a mustache-twirler. Initially thought he'd get on my nerves, but so far he only frustrates me as much as he foils the plot lol. I've been appreciating lately the sort of slow and measured way they've been developing Hohenheim's character over time. Seems like they're good at getting across the despair and tragedy in a character like that - even just his demeanor seems to suggest somebody whose detached because they've just seen and been through waaaay too many things. Definitely feel for a character like that. I can see why ya dig it. Glad you dug the episode... again!! 😆
