Time to finally finish Death Note. I had started watching this when it first aired back in 2006 but it was to much for 8th grade me so I only got to episode 12ish.

I usually do subbed but I'll watch the dub for you John! One thing about eng dubs that is kinda funny is when some line/words were said in English in the Japanese dub and then they explain the meaning in Japanese. Ie: "Death Note. Directly translated: a note book of death." The title is in english but their all supposed to be Japanese so they have to translate for the audience. Also never realised this was Madhouse series, hxh is also by madhouse

I’m excited to revisit this anime! I’m not as knowledgeable about this one as I am FMAB, but maybe I can learn along the way. The music and animation style are gorgeous.

Aw haha, I appreciate that man! One of these shows I’m gonna hop on the sub (from what I understand that’s the way to go for Hunter x Hunter), but I guess I just keep finding shows I hear have quality dubs lol. And thaaaat would make sense (regarding the translations); I actually kinda like keeping the subtitles on for these just to see how the literal translation matches with the colloquialisms of the dub. I’m excited to learn more about these different animation studios. I lose track sometimes, have any of our other shows been Madhouse? I feel like I’ve mainly caught Bones haha.. either way lots of MH animations on the way!

Damn.. thanks for leaving this as well! I’m often fascinated by the ideas and phrases that get their own dedicated words in different languages. This definitely seems like a decent depiction of them!
