If you didn’t realize the mask is the same kind of mask from Winter soldier. Black widow wore it as one of world security council members when fighting Alexander pierce(Robert Redford) The storylines now are less individual character focused and more pairings or just main plot focused. The reason I say the show doesn’t really have anymore filler is because let’s say you skip this episode. You don’t know about Coulson’s plan with May. You miss the development with Fitz and you don’t see hydras plans with Raina or the mask. Unlike with supernatural were you could skip a episode or two and still get everything that’s going on mostly.

I really appreciate your thoughtful reactions and analysis. I enjoy you looking for the story beneath the story and I can't wait to see how you react to what come in the future. I'll just say, that SHIELD really pays off those who can catch and place all the details. You noted the coffee conversation in this one, but imagine that a quip from some random episode in season 1 that seemed totally throw away might actually have been a major plot point. You never know. Also glad to see you appreciate Fitz's journey. I love that it wasn't a "get better in an episode" type of thing. This is a character defining, life altering event and they are giving it a good thorough examination (well, at least as much as can be done in the reality of a TV show).

So basically we're moving away from the episodic and going for a more purely serial form of storytelling? I'm loving the pairing of Fitz & Mack so far. Excited to see who else gets put together!

Aw, thanks so much! I really appreciate that :) I do my best to keep track of as many of the details as possible, but it's a big help having you guys here to chime in & keep me on track as well 🙌🏼 definitely gonna keep my ears further peeled for clues n breadcrumbs. Especially with Marvel, I've learned not to underestimate the dissemination of small, but important details haha. And I couldn't agree more! I was actually half-expecting them to have Fitz get better & Gemma return pretty quickly and I'm really happy that they aren't shying away from those character threads. Made it all the more rewarding at the end of the episode when they share those drinks together. Thanks for watchin' along with me!!
