Welp, it's a New Year and it's about time for some FRESH MUSIC VIDEO COVERAGE!!!

So, I thought what better way to kick things off than with a brand-new BTS comeback trailer?!

Map of the Soul 7 drops next month - here's my reaction to SHADOW!!!

In my interpretation, when the beat switches at the end that’s his shadow talking to him, especially when we see that visual of him looking up at himself on stage from the crowd. He’s basically saying he can’t separate himself from his anxieties and his fears so he must find a way to live with it. And the beginning lyrics “I wanna be a rap star, I wanna be the top, I wanna be a rock star, etc.” calls back to some early bangtan work where they talked about their dreams and aspirations. None of them truly thought they would end up this big and now that they have I think they’re using these newest works to reflect on their early stuff. Like how RM’s “Persona” sampled their Skool Luv Affair intro track, in this one there’s a frame where the written words O!RUL8,2! pops up which was the name of their first mini-album. It’s kinda funny if you compare Persona’s lyrics to these lyrics it’s almost like they’re the flipside of each other “I just wanna go, I just wanna fly” vs. “Don’t let me fly” for example. If the order they’ve followed since debut is correct, J-Hope is doing the next trailer “Ego” which comes out in 2 weeks (yup they’re doing 2 this comeback lol) so we’re all hyped for that! Bts released another new song called black swan.The music video is beautiful, the video doesn’t have the members in it but it has a beautiful contemporary dance and it fits the song well.💜

BTS came out with Black Swan. It’s not their title track. There’s the music video version and Spotify version.

Oooh, I like that interpretation! Makes sense, especially with the perspective switch into the crowd. I love the idea of reflecting and referencing their early music as they deconstruct & express where they're at now. Looking back on those hopes & dreams from the top. Excited to hear what else is coming - bring on Hope's track!!
