This episode makes me sad. That moment where Sam finds out that the nickname stuck for Dirk and it caused him serious issues to the point of overdose is so heartbreaking. Because he was just a kid standing up for himself and his friend. He didn't know what was going on with Dirk at home, he just wanted him to leave him and his friend alone, as well as others. It's good to take bullies down a few pegs, let them know they can't intimidate everyone and all that, but it's heartbreaking to know how it ended. For both Dirk and Sam. But the fact that he already felt like a freak as a kid, without even knowing about the Demon Blood or his powers or anything, is so sad. Because it shows both that his upbringing made him feel that way, but also that he just felt wrong and out of place and that had to do with the Demon Blood I think... :( And Dean too. I do like that Amanda called him out. I mean, she did catch him cheating, which is bound to upset anyone. But also, she was right. She really did have him figured out pretty quickly. And she just felt bad for him, knowing that their Dad wasn't around and that they were all alone besides each other. I do like how near the end of the flashbacks, Sam and Dean kinda switched places. Dean was the outcast, and Sam was praised and popular. I feel like it was needed for them both, to experience the other side to High School. But also, Sam now feels the guilt over TWO kids deaths. One who was a friend and he felt he could've maybe helped if he'd been able to stay, and the other a bully who he turned the tables for without realising he was going through other shit too. It's horrible!
