Did you do the Season 7 gag reel?

Flev Dorin

Benny is one of my favorite SPN characters! Can't wait for you to see more of this definite better season. I personally didn't mind the way Dean just reappeared in the 1st ep. cause we all knew he's gonna come back, so why drag it out? Also yes, this really is like with Oliver and the island in Arrow, and the island is actually called "Lian Yu" - Purgatory in mandarine!😂 One little thing bugged me from this ep. and this might just be me and idk why it irritated me so much, but wtf was that vet scene?!? Like some great bedside manners on that dr., or they don't teach that at vet school?😂 Like giving shit to Sam for bringing a dog in after he hit him "what a hero, give this guy a medal" in that condecending tone. Was I supposed to say "yeah girl, you tell that bastard for saving that dog!". Idk, is this like a rule now in the States? like you hit a dog, you have to adopt it??

Yay for Season 8! When it was airing I had dropped off watching the show in s7 and s8 brought me back in and renewed my enjoyment (not that I ever stopped loving Dean, he's too awesome!)

There is something that is widely disliked about this season even though overall it's better than season 7, and I hope people keep it to themselves instead of spamming it in the comments lol but I have a feeling you guys will know what it is. 8 I would say is a solid season if a bit...aimless? That's not the right word, since this season I consider to be the groundwork and foundation of the official second half of the series, up until season 15. 6 and 7 being the buffer section that was used to figure out where they were going. So it's more enjoyable than season 7, but it's more about setting up the future of the series than being it's own stand out storyline. That was my take on it, at least. I'm sure some will disagree.

Totally agree with your comments. 8x1 is almost like a reboot. Two very important ways in which SPN Purgatory flashbacks differ from Arrow; 1. No dreadful wig 2. Dean’s awesome Purgatory blade I’m not especially fond of flashback format, but it’s one way to handle 3 different storylines (current, Dean’s past year and Sam’s past year). Sam’s decision not to look for Dean at all is something a lot of fans had difficulty with. It all made for interesting tension, though. I also loved Dean searching for Cas. Despite all Dean’s issues with him in Season 7, when it comes right down to it, Cas is really important to him.

Toasted Toad

I don’t think the problem is difficult to figure out. Clearly, it’s Sam’s unfeasibly long hair! 😂

I thought Supernatural trying out the flashback format was interesting, although doing it for both Sam and Dean was a bit much if ya know what I mean lol it was an effective way of getting to see Purgatory while bringing Dean back into the action immediately. As for Sam we could probably just done it all in one episode 😅

Lisa McLisa

Yeah - I was one person who thought Sam not looking for Dean was wildly out of character for him. I can understand it as a reaction to trauma and having lost everyone but it just didn’t ring true. Having him look, not find anything and ultimately come to terms with being alone and making a life for himself - I can understand that. Not looking? Weird to me.

Vel

Same. But I also remembered that Sam has gone off the rails every time he did go searching for Dean. They could have clarified all of it with a simple sentence, really. But then again, we are watching a show that LOVES to dramatize their relationship with each other. It's why we watch, after all. LMAO.

thereelrejects

Not as of yet!! I'll see if/what we can do, just been swamped so mainly making sure the main stuff stays covered -- hoping we can do it, though!!

Rue

Hey, guys! Don't forget the season 7 bloopers! I know, I know - season seven was a pile of roasted garbage, but at least there's always bloopers haha

Diana

WHOO!! Season 8 is so much better than 7. The purgatory story line is my one of my favorite ones of the whole series. Jensen's acting of Dean is always so rich, which is obviously why so many of us watch the show.

emmy25

"Please tell me they fucked" had me dead lmao

LC

If SPN was on HBO, Dean and Benny absolutely would have fucked

Dorothy

Oh look, it's my favorite season🥰. Benny is probably one of my all time favorite Supernatural characters. Probably right up there with Garth for me honestly. I love Benny. Also that "You sexy, Jared Padalecki" comment...RIGHT!!!??🤣🤣🤣I don't know what it is but both of them look so good this season, like on a whole nother level than before☺️🤷🏾‍♀️ As for Sam, whom I love with my whole heart, I also think it's odd that he didn't search for Dean at all. Now, it wouldn't have been weird if he searched, couldn't find anything and then decided to move on, but to not look at all does seem a little outta character for him. But I'm not upset with him whatsoever for quitting the job. I don't know how many times he has to say it, or how many more flashbacks we need of him as a kid making it clear that he does not want to be in the family business. And yet somehow people are always still surprised or want to condemn him in these situations where he quit or left Dean and John, as if we didn't already know how he felt. Except for you guys. Especially Greg, acknowledging that this is a story beat that we've seen before, because it's one that Sam truly feels. And we keep rapping around to the fact that Sam doesn't need this the way Dean does. And yes, there are a plethora of reasons for that and why they feel differently about hunting. Both Valid, but Sam is definitely faulted for that at times when he shouldn't be. But yeah, he definitely should have at least looked for Dean and then, if he still wanted to, quit hunting shortly after. But I'm so glad you guys enjoyed the episode. It's a really good season, so I'm excited for y'all to get into it.

My favorite season with season 11 a close second. This season felt like the boys finally grew up. Also look out for the cinematography. Some of the best in the series, in my opinion. And some of the reasons why Jared and Jensen look so good is in part to Jared’s longer hair and epic tan and the wider and fuller shots. You can actually see their heights and how big of men they are. They also, for the most part stopped putting the other actors on Gillie Boards and apple boxes. Benny is an awesome character and the story arcs are incredible.
