Welp, like clockwork, it’s time for me once again to be called a virtue signaling beta cuck fuckboi because I can’t fucking stand this episode. White cop in a system that exists solely to protect him even when he is acting like a dumb child arrests a black man essentially just for “mouthing off” with absolutely no evidence or cause. And then the episode tries to say that it’s okay because jake was right all along, even though “your former cell mate did a crime that’s sort of like what you did once, even though you have a thoroughly vetted alibi and we have zero physical evidence” is absolutely fucking nothing. Holt and Terry are the only enjoyable parts for me. Which isn’t to say that the ticking time bomb element can’t be used to good effect; like others on YouTube have pointed out, this episode essentially gets a redo in season 5, resulting in one of the best episodes of the series. But it takes a while for the show to stop shoving its head up its own ass every now and then.
