A thing to note is that given what the show has told us, it’s safe to assume this is Korra’s first ever anything with regards to romance. The show doesn’t really address it quite as often or as specifically as i think it should, as it would help hammer home some of the flaws in her character. But her actions aren’t just a teenage impulse, but also a person who genuinely doesn’t know what to do, or know any better. Hell, that’s why she’s asking literal children, the only real friends/confidants she has aside from the brothers. I’m that respect her actions are way more understood, even if still kinda shitty. Granted I think that aspect of her is also forgotten because she’s educated and well spoken enough for it to be assumed she knows these basic social things. A lot of the pacing issues I think come from this being initially planned as just one limited series. The next season as well was thought to be all they’d do, then thankfully they were given proper go ahead for two more, so three and four fit a bit better together, but that is something to note, that these first two seasons were written as if they were the last.
