Season 3 is awesome imo. This season would've taken the cake for me, but Amon is a literal example of why his plan wouldn't work in the long run. Biiiig plothole.

Amon is my favorite antagonist in the entire Avatar universe. I think he has such an incredible story and motivation. I got to meet Steve Blum at Birmingham Kami-Con and I asked him about the boat scene. He said that Dee Bradley Baker and himself had no idea about the ending and they got the scripts right before they recorded so no one could leak it ahead of time. Blum and Baker sat in total silence stunned by what they read until they were called in. As I left his booth, Blum told me “You have been purified” as Amon.

Wellll you know, in Avatar. Aang did conveniently met the Lion Turtle that gave him a solution to Aang's dilema to not have to kill the Fire Lord Ozai.😂 But no seriously, the difference between what I said and what happened in the episode is that the Aang-Fire Lord battle was build over 3 seasons and while may have been sudden, it was fitting with the character and the themes they developed, and Korra lacked those because of time constraints, which leads me to my 2nd point. Something that others said before in the comments, the creators of LoK had nightmares with producion of this show, Nickelodeon constantly gave them the impression that they won't renew them, and basically they thought LoK will be a one and done, that's why the finale looked rushed and that they teased nothing for S2. But they do a pretty good job retroactively connecting all the seasons imo. Also I think you can rent The Last Airbender on Youtube Movies for like $3.

Korra is definitely a show of hindsight. For y’all, knowing there’s more seasons really heightens how hastily wrapped up in a bow this seasons ending is. At the time, it was thought to be the end, and as noted that trend continued into the next season. A lot of the biggest complaints I’ve had with Korra tend to be pacing issues, but now looking back, knowing how the production was, those complaints have really mellowed for me, and that context has helped elevate the show a lot. And definitely good to bring up how the first season of Avatar wasn’t always the strongest. Avatar often gets conflated into one long season with the main story occupying moats memories, which does tend to make people look back on it more fondly. With Korra being four distinct parts of varying quality, weaker elements can’t hide in the amalgam of greatness that is there.

Way to ruin every cool moment in this show

Have they still not learned that the people who made Korra didn't know they would have more seasons? They literally thought this was going to be the only season, until the last possible minute.
