As I feared might be the case, the change in the Patreon UI has meant that the posts I made yesterday are not being charged for. So if you have noticed that your accounts weren't charged for patronage to me today, that's why.

So what I will probably have to do is re-post those pages, which is irritating but there's not any way around it that I can see, and they won't be charged for until next month. But be assured that you aren't being charged twice for these pages (264 & 265). I'm sorry if that messes up your financial planning in any way.

And yeah, this means that I'm pretty screwed for this month.

I did get a patreon charge for your pages within the last 24 hours. Does this align with your expectations?

AriochIV

The last two charges I can see for you are from October 1, from last month. If Patreon charged you within the last 24 hours, I don't think it was for me.

Mechabunyip

Is there a way for me to help? I enjoy your content and am happy to contribute.

AriochIV

Thanks for the offer. I'm in the process of trying to figure out what I can do.

Martin Giguere

Likewise please advise what we can do. I would not mind throwing in a few dollars this month to help out.

Alexander Freeman

Unfortunately yeah, I'm not seeing the charge from your Patreon for this month. Let us know what we can do to help!

Michael

Usually I lurk, but I love this great comic. Please let us know if we can send a one off by any means.

Mechabunyip

Ok, as you can see, a few others feel similarly. Let's us know how we can help as we all want more and you getting messed about by Patreon isn't acceptable.

Snoofman

Sorry to hear that Arioch. Please let us know if we can somehow help.

Michael Gärtner Nielsen

Ah yeah, I haven't been charged for the two pages. I enjoy your comic and think you should get paid, so reposting them is a good idea.

Simon Cornelius

I cannot even find where to see charges now on Patreon - they must have "improved" their site. The credit card account was not charged though so I owe you.

Jericho

Yeah i got charged a paltry sum from patreon when the last pages were released. Methinks they pocketed that money. Would it be possible to pay it forward? A one time donation that is used to give more comic to people who can't afford to gib?

Anthony Docimo

I changed my tiers to 20 and back...because its per page, i don't know if it worked (normally it would, when its not a per item setting) (used to be, we could set our payment for any amount above the tier's minimum - that seems gone now, unless its just not working for me, which is always possible) if there was a $10 per item tier, i'd join that, even if the rewards are the same or less than what $5 has.

Anthony Docimo

ps: repost anything you like. _Outsider_ or _Suns_ or...etc.

AriochIV

I don't think Patreon charges right away except for new memberships, and I think that's probably only for creators that charge monthly. Even when they do charge right away, I'm not sure that money is immediately available to the creator anyway. Don't worry about me, guys. I have enough other work to get me through the month. But I appreciate the effort.

AriochIV

Yeah, site "improvements" are wonderful, ain't they? I'll just repost the pages for next month.

AriochIV

There's a PayPal link on the comic front page any time anyone wants to make a one-time donation... but as long as you're okay with me reposting these pages for next month, I should be okay until then. Thanks for the offer.

The "Web" version of Patreon has borked the "pay what you want" option, but the Mobile App for Patreon still allows you to specify a different payment amount, although it's not easy to find in the UI. I just installed the app myself and was successful in changing my payments to a non-standard amount for another artist I support. IN THE MOBILE APP 1: Tap on the membership icon (star in a box) in the top right corner of the screen, next to your profile picture 2: A list of all your memberships in alphabetical order will populate on the screen 3: Tap on the membership from this list to go to the full member view of the creator’s Patreon 4: Tap on your current membership (star in a box next to the name of your membership tier) directly under the creator’s Patreon header 5: Tap on Edit membership 6: Tap on Edit payment method 7a: if "Choose what you pay" is shown, change the amount and tap "Update" 7b: if "Pay monthly" is shown, tap on the pencil icon to the right of the amount, then change the amount and tap "Update". You're done, you can now delete the Mobile App... or use it, at this point it's no worse than the web interface.

Pretty sure they did not charge me either. Is subscribe star having these kinda bonehead issues?

AriochIV

It was an issue with the changed UI; I shouldn't have the same problem a second time now that I've already tripped over that landmine once. I have a subscribestar account, but I haven't set it up yet. I will do at some point. The shortcoming of subscribestar is that it only bills monthly and not per post. I guess that's not as much of a problem now that I'm posting pretty regularly.
