I'm sorry to hear about your grandfathers passing. Through this hobby, hopefully we can tell the stories and keep the memories of what our grandparents and great grandparents went through alive in some small way. Perhaps you could make a small diorama in his honor. Retelling his stories of interacting with the soldiers who came through his home town. I'm excited to see how you depict further damage to the panther in the painting process.

Hey Martin, I am really sorry for your loss. My father, who died in 2018, was born in Holland and remembered WW II vividly. He told me stories of the German soldier who was billeted with his parents and manned an AA gun in the orchard in the backyard, being strafed while sitting on the handlebars of his father’s bike by a Spitfire that was chasing a Kubelwagen up the road that escaped into tank bunker (my father and Opa took the ditch) and other experiences that I can’t imagine. Anyway my friend, here is hoping that the sadness you and your family are going through is soon overshadowed by the fond memories of your grandfather. Take care.
