The “point of no return” (PONR) in held-breath cave diving varies by individual. Nevertheless, the rule of thumb is to make sure your PONR is at least half the length of the cave you are trying out - and that your diving partner is not a lung power monster whose PONR is multiple times longer than your own. :-)
