We'll have stories to tell from May The Fourth and RFR Live in Bristol CT for a long time. Many STAR WARS fans joined us for our live show from the Rockwell Theater, along with the largest collection of RFR V.I.P.s ever gathered in one place. Among them was RFR V.I.P Eric from Phoenix who joined us onstage, stuck around to watch THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and he also took part in the after hours festivities. Eric returns to the Q&A for a full recap of the event. He shares a couple of details from TESB that he never noticed before and shows off some new additions to his growing STAR WARS collection. Plus, we discuss Prequel spoilers from back in the day and more!

Turtle Wars

Looking forward to watching the video tomorrow.

Eric from Phoenix

I wanted to add a little more information on two items we discussed during my show and tell: 1) George Lucas Super Live Adventure - here's some links to videos and complete list of all the merch. -> http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_category&category_id=232 -> http://theswca.com/hobbyarchive/1993/superlive.html -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6We5rQPwD3E&list=PLgDdCCCVdydbGoIu64XiqQ2myTyLojCpN&index=4 2) Vlix - here's some information on this figure and a video. -> https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/the-story-behind-the-rarest-star-wars-action-figure/ -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7_l-3iHK5I

Luke

Fun show Gentlemen. Folded my laundry, cleaned my apartment and rounded it off with a Q&A. Cheers

Eric from Phoenix

I forgot to mention a couple additional folks we met in Bristol. Brothers Eric and Luke. Windows (who is on Patreon and in livestream chat) and Curtis who believe it or not came from Phoenix (Apache Junction) to the event. Also, got to hang with Justin and Melissa this past weekend who we met through RFR / Pateron a couple years ago.

Eric from Phoenix

Glad we could keep you company while doing "adulting". That's usually how I consume RFR too.

Peter Beisser

Finally meeting Andrea was truly one of the highlights of the weekend in Bristol for me, Eric. And your recap was spot on. Andy and I caught up with JMac and Swank and Tyler, too, but like you said the weekend was awesome because of the entire Patreon community. A great discussion of the events in this episode, as always. You brought so much color to May 4th for those who may not have been there--and those who were there and may have stayed up too late. Here's to the next meet up!

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks Peter! So great seeing you again and getting a chance to meet Andy. Looking forward to the next time we get to chat and have a beer. I think Yuengling’s sales saw a spike that weekend from me :)

Marc Richard

Great episode Eric! Cynthia and I enjoyed meeting you and the other RFRers as well (we’re the ones from Ontario).

Turtle Wars

Glad you enjoyed looking at some of my collection photos in Bristol. I do have a ton of stuff, not as much as I used to, but still a lot. I always like seeing your new acquisitions, and when other’s share their collection photos on Patreon. Looks like you ran into a lot of great impulse buys, which I think then gets elevated to an impulse spree at that point. During my Q&As I always have a pile of new SW acquisitions next to me to share, but never get to it. When I was trying to complete my vintage Kenner collection in the early 2000’s Vlix was $10-15,000+ back then. The past 10-15 years, more like $20-50,000 usually. Why is VHS making a comeback, and cassette tapes, and Polaroid cameras?

Eric from Phoenix

Impulse spree is fair, lol. I can’t believe that VHS would make a comeback but who knows. I definitely love the old school VHS tapes. Vlix I’m sure is a bootleg / copy but will be fun to find out. Either way, I’ll know and so will anyone later.

zillobeast

What a pod. Brill to hear about the day. Cheers What a community

Matt Rashid

Great listen and great show, Eric. Even better after having spent some time in Bristol. Loved meeting and chatting up you and Andrea.

Eric from Phoenix

Thanks Matt! Loved finally getting to meet you. Thanks for humoring me with all my questions about acting.

Joe Dallas

Hey Zillo- where do you live in England? I’m headed over to Leeds this summer…..

zillobeast

Hey I’m in st albans which is like 25 miles or so north of London. Leeds is nice especially some of the surrounding areas like Harrogate and York which are both stunning. If you’re in or around London at any time on the visit would be lovely to take you out and listen to a few of your stories! If you need any local advice too whilst you’re up there I have a few friends who originate from that part of the country.

Jared Cantor

Was the Parkside cafe in Hartford? That rings a bell.

RobO from ChicagO

This is completely random, but for some reason this episode sparked a question in my head. Do we think or is it ever said that Leia and Han have knocked boots prior to the start of ESB?

Eric from Phoenix

The one we are at was in Bristol. Great breakfast and lunch menu. We only got breakfast both days but there were many other things I could’ve ordered.

Eric from Phoenix

That’s an interesting question. Would there have been any media at the time that would’ve even approached that topic? If there was something it would have to be from the Disney era, right?

Scott St. Louis

What a great episode! Bristol flashbacks have been great, it was so nice to meet you, and Andrea is a sweetheart. Please tell her I say hello! I also hadn’t seen ESB that much on the big screen throughout the years. I NEVER noted the X-wing until you said it! Love the VHS callbacks and those great box sets! A fantastic show! Now I’m going to have to watch the full show video!

Eric from Phoenix

Great meeting you and thanks for the NECOs. We shared them at the airport. Glad I wasn’t the only one that missed Luke’s x-wing. Have fun checking out my purchases. Heading to Phoenix Comic-con in a couple hours and excited to see what new show and tell stuff I can find. Also, have a toy show at the end of June. We’ll see if I find anything.

Dylan McGee

Their courtship in ESB doesn’t suggest that. Why would they be so coy about touching hands and kissing if they had already made the kessel run together?

Tyler Page

A Highlight of the trip was Joe Dallas giving me a bite of his Lobster Roll. Love you Joe!

RobO from ChicagO

I always took it as Leia didn’t want it to be public knowledge that she was interested in a “scruffy nerfherder”, she was a “princess” after all, but in private maybe she pounced on him like Rathar in heat.

Scott St. Louis

Happy hunting! Sounds like a good time. Less than 2 weeks until RFR Acolyte Aftershows! Can’t wait—(maybe the Disney+ series will be good too!)

Tyler Page

Also, ROTS VHS was available in the UK only is my understanding

Eric from Phoenix

Good to know Tyler! I’ll have keep my eyes open for that. Limited Star Wars stuff at Phoenix comic con. Disappointing. Millions of Funko……..

Eric from Phoenix

Only found one comic I needed and no vintage Star Wars. Disappointing but same results last year. Tons of funko and modern stuff

Todd Owens

Is there a tier of Patreon where you get video of RFR Q&A? I would have liked to have seen the items from Eric’s collection as he was talking about them.

Todd Owens

Thanks again! I just leveled up to All Access. Now I have to find time for all this great content!
