Patreon Update (Patreon)

We received this update about some changes and new features happening to the Patreon page and the community section.  Read below for more info. 

Community chats

Chats is a mobile-only feature that allows you and your fans to connect outside of the comment section and natively on Patreon. You'll have full control over the chats you offer your community, and can customize up to four chats by name, topic, emoji, and member tier.

What this means for your community tab

The community tab at the top of your creator homepage is now known as "member posts." To further our investment in providing the best community chats experience, we will remove this tab later this year. We believe chats is an exciting next step beyond the current member posts tab, allowing for more active conversation amongst your community, and a more direct channel of communication for your light weight announcements (no need to post!).

Key dates:

Early October - By this point, you will have gained access to community chats (on mobile). You will have 60 days of access to both community chats (on mobile) and member posts (on web); during this time, feel free to familiarize yourself with the new feature and migrate your community conversations over to chats.

Mon 12/4 - We will remove the “member posts” tab from web and community chats will be your exclusive community feature.
