I don’t know why I know this, but tarantulas DO have venom, but it is so weak that it doesn’t do anything to humans. They also very rarely bite, they have to be under a lot of duress to do so. Once again idk why I have this knowledge because I hate spiders

I call BS on some of the Emily/Kobe storyline. My family isn't from Cameroon, but E. Africans are different maybe? In my family those friends wives would've hosted a polite "welcome dinner" just to show off! And low key talk shit about their husbands in the kitchen cause men don't go in there.

This is actually my first meeting of Loren and Alexi. Everything that came out of Loren’s mouth I was just like “THATS YOUR OWN FAULT.” 3 under 3 THATS YOUR FAULT. My family is west African (Nigerian to be exact), and you’re absolutely correct! Who is expecting the foreign visitors to host a full dinner for the local friends, in what world do they do that!? It’s Kobe’s friends that would be inviting them over, not the other way round. Also, even though a power imbalance still exists, women there have much more agency than Kobe’s friends are letting on, they’re not just doormats there solely for the man’s pleasure. I hate the way they are misrepresenting west Africa simply to recreate a version of the Angela/Michael storyline, it’s infuriating!

I worked in a hotel when I was pregnant with my first child. A man told my manager I was cranky and too pregnant to work. Reality was he was a pompous ass who wanted an upgrade and we were sold out. With my second child, I worked with contractors and holy hell. I was asked how my hormones were. I was miserable with both at the end. People feel like they can say whatever they want to pregnant people.

Just before Emily and Kobe got married Emily’s mom said "You don't have to win every time." She clearly weaponizes her insecurity. Emily also was likely seen on tv by his friends bossing Kobe to clean horse sh*t and telling him he was doing it wrong. That wouldn't read well with anyone's loyal friends, cultural differences certainly couldn't have helped. The classic "I am an American blather is no excuse." His friends were being obnoxious and so was Emily. The saddest part is Kobe's isolation and lack of support from his new wife and old friends. One must wonder if she will honor the Cameroonian heritage of their children or dismiss it because she doesn't respect what doesn't represent her experiences.

What? I’m confused. Kinder joy eggs is what we have here in the US. Is that different from what you are saying? I think in Canada they are called Kinder surprise eggs. The difference being that the toy is in a separate compartment v the toy being in the goop, because Americans sue.

I was wondering if when they’re all “that’s just how it is here” it meant more like, as we personally see it, that’s how it is here. In the US there’s plenty of stuff you can ascribe to American culture/values that’s not universal at all, but people will still say it is. Even within subgroups in the United States, everyone doesn’t think the same way/the most stereotypical way you’d associate with that group.

After losing almost 200 lbs I absolutely had so much pain from sagging skin on my stomach. I didn't hear it as much from some people but some still had opinions 😂😂😂😂 glad I had the skin removal surgery and will do it again if I need it after this baby.

I wish things like diastis recti were talked about more, I didn’t know about it until I was a few months pregnant. Then it’s just dismissed as normal when things like pelvic floor physical therapy can help prevent it from happening or help with recovery. My dad had his prostate removed for prostate cancer and he told me al the horrible things that could happen to him after and how he was going to have to do pelvic floor pt. Not to minimize his pain/discomfort, but what he was warned about and has to deal with now is very similar to what most people I know have had to deal with while pregnant and after.
