Can't wait for the finale. Imo this seasons finale is the best episode of the show.

When Sam and Robbie were at the skating rink, the way they were dressed and the names they threw around (Sam mentioned Duckie, and Robbie mentioned James Spader) were references to a smash classic from the 80's, Pretty In Pink. I originally wrote out an explanation of the references from the movie, but deleted them because I think you'd like Pretty In Pink, and you should react to it. If you do, I don't want to spoil the movie. I will say, though, that it stars Molly Ringwald from The Breakfast Club. Sam was dressed as Ringwald's character from Pretty In Pink. I'm guessing here, but Tory looks like she was supposed to be Madonna, but as she looked in some of her 80's movies. I'll venture to guess that, more specifically, she was dressed as Madonna in the movie Desperately Seeking Susan. That fits, since if I remember correctly, Susan is kind of a "bad girl." Oh, when they were skating, a song started playing, and that's when you said you weren't getting it. That song is If You Leave, and it's featured in the film, which why Sam said it was "too perfect," and why Robbie replied with, "I might have said something to the D.J." A little later at the rink, Robbie told Sam, "I've gotten two compliments on my outfit, but everyone thinks I'm some guy named Dan Johnson. Ever heard of him?" It sounded like you were trying to figure that one out too. Which is funny because when Robbie and Sam first walked into the rink, you said something about Miami Vice. Dan Johnson is supposed to be a reference to Don Johnson, who played the character from Miami Vice, specifically, the character you were referencing and thought he was supposed to be. The joke is supposed to be that either Robbie or the people who thought he was Don Johnson said "Dan" because they misremembered the name. Robbie getting the name wrong is probably also supposed to show how little time Jonny spends with him, because if he spent a lot of time with Robbie, Robbie would know every action star like the back of his hand, especially an 80's classic cop like Don Johnson played. He would never have gotten that wrong, and if the kids said it wrong to him, he would have corrected them.
