The Goblins have defeated [really convinced] a grove a murderous dryads and turned them into furniture. Now instead drinking blood - the dryads grow fat on other fluids. 

So the dryads are still alive - just in unique poses, well oiled, and more importantly - well fed with a constant supply mana rich fluids. Win win.
