It makes me so happy that more channels are reacting to Mr Robot. It's a top 5 show for me, but not talked about anywhere near as much as Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and others. also i KNEW arianna would dig it as soon as she realised its basically about fighting capitalism lmao. file maple not knowing who christian slater is in the "young millennial versus elder zoomer" folder.

This show is really intriguing to me! I never really got into it before and now I'm hooked!! I don't know what is reality and what is just Elliot's imagination! Also, I know jack shit about cybersecurity or hacking. If any of our patreons read this, is this show just BS, or is what they are doing technically feasible???

The hacking in this show is extremely feasible. Putting aside that almost everything you see on a computer screen is accurate & correct (for the time), the main thing they REALLY NAIL here, which most "hacker" portrayals don't, is their use of social engineering. For example, even back in 2015, Elliot's ability to crack passwords was a bit far-fetched, *except* for the fact that he's able to seed his brute-force algorithm with personal details of his targets, often gleaned social media and/or spear-phishing. If this show were made today, he wouldn't even bother trying to crack their pw, because a) pw managers/2FA have mostly band-aided this method, and b) it's usually easier to use human psychology to trick people into simply handing over everything you need from them.
