Damn 40mins discussion im all for it! There are a lot of theories regarding who Imu really is and how the gorosei were formed. Some crazy theories that also makes sense. My comment on your discussion all throughout the arc is that you forgot to mention a certain someone. Let's leave it to that. Great reaction on the breaking of the world's greatest taboo <3

Theory time!!!! Straw Hat/s: The giant straw hat & Luffys straw hat belonged to two kings of the ancient kingdom. Only people of the D. clan were considered to be the future kings and thus considered special. The straw hats were considered "crowns" hence why Luffys got passed down just like a crown (Roger to Shanks, Shanks to Luffy and i'd assume there were more people prior to Roger). I would bet on it that Imu used to be the one who whore Luffys Straw Hat originally but got his/her rights taken off of him/her.

I am pretty sure it's Blackbeard. Shanks is a man who always wants to maintain the status quo until the right person (Luffy) comes up. Blackbeard is a cunning evil man that takes the emperor position from WB in the most scummy way. He's ambitious and always want to go up higher in position so his next target is the World Government (the highest of them all). He wants to take that crown from Imu. But Shanks would rather have them as he knows Blackbeard is more dangerous. On his last battle he got eye scar and he probably thinks he can't take him so is other strong ppl, so his role is to warn them about him. Only Luffy can take him. So until the right time comes, Shanks is trying to maintain the status quo as much as possible by going around and warning these ppl that Blackbeard is targeting.

The world gov doesn't know the locations of the Poneglyphs (Otherwise Alabasta's would've been taken) BUT if you go back to Skypiea's flashback, it's mentioned that the city of Shandora was destroyed while protecting their Poneglyph. If the city of Gold was an important/main city of the ancient kingdom then it makes sense that the world gov would try to destroy it. I wonder how long they fought or if they lost "progress" and went back to being simple tribes that believe in gods and sacrifice. Still can't believe people skip Skypiea smh.
