Here is yet ANOTHER print that was used this month to celebrate the 10 years of shooting with Shaun! Needless to say i wasn't surprised that he picked a shot form this series, but i wont offer any spoilers! Read below to see what this shot was chosen and why its so important!

 JACK FROST

SHAUN: For me, this was the shoot that forever changed the dynamic between us; after this, it was no longer just shooting with a random model, it was hanging out and shooting with my dearest friend. It was our 10th shoot; we had shot a lot of bloody messy fun stuff over the years, but Jack felt like the first character we really created together, with intent, and you brought that character to life. We shot horror before, but this was or first trip into fantasy, and I’ve been hooked on it ever since.

MIKE: I couldn’t agree more! This shoot was the one that completely changed our dynamic. It was our first major collaboration where we worked together to come up with a concept that was fully fleshed out. It was also an intensely personal shoot. Not because it was really sexy or anything, I mean lord knows we had shot much sexier things before this, but because you needed to do most of the ice make up. I HATE people being close to me and I RELLY hate when people touch my face. I really had to let my guard down for this shoot and it was the point at which I knew I could trust you with pretty much anything. But the question on everyone’s mind is why does Jack frost shoot lightening out of his hands?

SHAUN: As you know, I always try to be very hands-off and respectful of people’s personal space, especially in the studio, but this was not that kinda shoot. This shoot had you laying on the studio floor beside me, as I hand-glued little crystals to your face, lol. Good question about the lightening hands! We shot Jack Frost right before the 'Rise of the Guardians' movie was released, and honestly, I don't recall if that version of Jack Frost was even discussed during the shoot! To be honest, I’m not sure we even called the character ‘Jack Frost’ while we were shooting. However, I was influenced by Jack's ice magic from his battle with Pitch Black, and the energy he creates mending his staff. This was kinda like a grown-up Jack Frost, so I wanted amp up the intensity a bit!

MIKE: Giving this shoot a name is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to so lol. There was a long period of time where I called it iceman as well. For me it depended on the shot. I know the theme for this shoot was kind of like an ice demon type thing. The frost begins to take me over then I slowly start to melt. I think what people don’t know about this shot is that it ended up with me COVERED in blood from head to toe. We are insane.

SHAUN: Haha, yes, I concur! For the finished shots, I turned the blood blue in post-production, but what a freaking (fun) mess that was! Fake blood and fake snow, like being tarred and feathered in the most festive of ways. Those blissful old school days of just shooting whenever and whatever “Lets shoot a thing!” – “Ok!” then figuring it out as we went; I’m not sure if it was more creativity, or escapism. lol
