It's come to my attention that people are starting to receive their January prints so i want to take this opportunity to give you a bit more background into why we selected this shot as one of our 10 year anniversary photos!

 AQUAMAN

SHAUN: Aquaman was the first superhero I really connected with and loved as a kid, from both comic books and reruns of the 70's Aquaman cartoon. My work schedule was pretty intense when we first talked about working together, and after chatting a few times we hadn't picked a time to shoot. However, when I saw your Aquaman Halloween costume photo on my Facebook feed a few weeks later, I knew I had to get you into the studio. We finally shot Aquaman during our 11th shoot; it was the very first cosplay we had ever shot together. We shot this photo, your newest Aquaman cosplay, on location years later, for our epic 28th shoot; it blows my mind how much we've both grown and changed since that first shoot. You'll always be Aquaman to me.

MIKE: I’ll never ever forget this shoot! Is that because I almost died? Is it because you almost died? Is it because it was an epic photo shoot at a beautiful location? WHO KNOWS! Everyone knows how much I love Aquaman, so it was incredibly important to me to shoot this one on location. Typically, location shoots can be a bit of a nightmare because everything is working against you. The sun is in your eyes, the lights are falling over, you’re slipping on rocks, its cold as hell, and the wind is ruining your hair (which you dyed blonde for this costume!). As bad as all that sounds, I still had an absolute blast and I wouldn’t change a thing! I mean, just look how good the shots came out!

SHAUN: Haha, yeah! There were definitely some risky and tricky moments during the shoot, but thankfully no one died, and no equipment was damaged! This one of my first few shoots outdoors using studio lighting, and took some trial and error to get things right, but I’d definitely say it was worth the effort! Saying you looked epic would be an understatement! During intense shoots like this, I don’t think you’ll never understand how much I appreciate your professionalism in front of the camera, and your friendship and helpfulness when the camera is off.

MIKE: You mean the professionalism where after 30 mins of shooting I got so cold that I made you take of you flannel and give it to me? God, this shoot was so wild. Ill genuinely never forget the moments we spent on those slippery rocks trying to get in all the shots before the sun set.

SHAUN: Ha! Well, I did specify professionalism in front of the camera, but the oversized flannel did look great on you! To be fair, it was a heckin chilly and windy day! Definitely an unforgettable shoot experience for me too; I can’t help but smile every time I think about or edit one of those shots. So much effort, but so worth it.

I hope you shot this on the one day of summer in Halifax! Otherwise your nips would freeze off!

Mike you make every character a thirst trap. Not only do you mail the character you bring a whole new dimension of sexyness to it.

My friends make fun of me for picking Aquaman as my favorite superhero. I feel vindicated.
