I think they jumped forward because they established that 1. Tsubaki, we know, is studying for the finals so she can attend the high school near Kousei's, 2. Kaori will be doing physical therapy non-stop until the day of her surgery and 3. Kousei won't be visiting because he's practicing for this competition. So there isn't much varied action in this time. Having said that, I also found it jarring the first time I watched this and was confused. But nicely pointed out, on my second viewing I had thought about that time skip being a chilling reminder that time is fleeting and passes in the blink of an eye. So in that sense it really hits the heart-strings. Thought the Aiza resolution was great! Especially the part with the three of them sitting there eating egg salad sandwiches XD And the little (yet significant) push Aiza gives Kousei at the end. Fantastic. To add on, I'm glad that these resolutions happened at various moments in the show (where sometimes they are all left at the very end and it's resolution after resolution after resolution). Finally the Tsubaki stuff was so sweet and a beautiful moment. So well said! Just wanted to say since we're coming to the end, thank you guys for the quality discussions/opinions on this show and all the others! I've been saving a lot of shows so that I always have something of yours to watch lol. But your honesty and in-depth conversations are always enjoyable and fun (or in The Place Further Than The Universe case, CRY SO MANY TEARS)! XD
