Consider how old this show is. There's no need for an overly-sinister villain. The reason for the class misbehaving is rather simple/realistic. It is also slightly different from the manga which I didn't like. *Spoiler* I don't think it's explored in the show but it is in the manga. There is more to Onizuka's nosebleeds than just a comic relief.

I cant believe people were worried about your reactions to this. GTO really handles these very serious topics with alot of respect. Some frivolity to take the edge off, but Onizuka is a deeply caring indvidual who even against people who try to abuse him, simply wants the best for his students.
