You're wrong. Ryuko's fate isnt being forced into killing her mom. When Ryuko finds her dad in the mansion he gives her the option to live a life of happiness, but tells her if she wishes to carry out and finish his mission she's going to need the scissor blade, but he tells her if she seeks this path it's going to be a cruel fate. So this just goes back to again, Ryuko's struggle to determining her own fate, similar to what Satsuki is going through.
