MAPPA has been absolutely killing it this season. Every episode they up their game from a directing standpoint.

I just feel like the pacing is way too fast. Can't take a second to savour the moment, just blasting through and removing flavourful manga moments.

Only the pacing for this episode. The rest of this arc will be fine pacing wise. Though I cannot speak for the follow Arc.

For me it was too fast. All the time switching and new scenes. I need to process what I saw to get the connection. For example I don't know why the 2 freak out at the end of the episode. Then I really didn't get why Reiners father was so angry on him, calling him scum. Because it was just like 10 seconds. That's too fast. You can do that in a 3rd season but not at the beginning with a whole new cast.
