Chapter 502: The Fleet

The swordfish came menacingly, one of them piercing the side of the Lorry, nearly causing the already unstable ship to capsize.

The hull shook, and Bisky and Tonpa, who came at the sound, reached the deck, seeing the group of swordfish falling from the sky.

Tonpa's nen skills were still half-baked, and his combat experience was pitifully weak. His only strength was detecting danger. At this moment, seeing the swordfish swarm attacking, he immediately retreated back into the cabin.

Seeing Tonpa slip away, Luo had no reaction. This was for the best; having Tonpa around would only cause more trouble.

"Bisky, take care of the stern."

Luo, with his back to Bisky, raised his head and stared at the swordfish diving down one after another.

With Bisky's assistance, his pressure would be much reduced. As for the swordfish that had pierced the left side of the hull, he had no time to deal with it now.

Bisky didn't speak. She quickly took her position at the stern.

She didn't have Luo's ability to stop the swordfish mid-air, but she could alter the trajectory of each swordfish heading for the deck with just her fists and feet, sending them into the sea.

In no time, Luo had stopped seven swordfish mid-air. He found that these swordfish were lifeless and were attacking them against their will.

One could say that the Lorry's safe landing was lucky, while the swordfish swarm within the Lorry's path was unfortunate.

Luck and misfortune came one after another as the Lorry narrowly escaped the swordfish swarm.

Luo threw the twenty or so swordfish he had stopped onto the deck and immediately went to repair the pierced areas, while Tonpa was sent to tidy up the now chaotic cabin.

The storm subsided, and Luo finally had a chance to catch his breath. He lay on the deck, physically and mentally exhausted, only wanting to sleep well.

Bisky came to his side and summoned Ms. Cookie.

"Hi."

Luo tilted his head and greeted Ms. Cookie.

Ms. Cookie smiled faintly, knelt beside Luo, and slowly raised her delicate hands to massage him, relieving his fatigue.

Luo squinted his eyes, enjoying Ms. Cookie's unparalleled massage technique, clearly feeling his exhaustion being drained away.

Whether it was Tonpa's detection ability or Bisky's Ms. Cookie, they were crucial for this journey.

Bisky also sat down, looking at the vast sea ahead, and sighed, "This is the Dark Sea."

They had been slapped back into the sea by a giant bird after seeing many giant flying creatures occupying the airspace close-up, thanks to the sky-reaching tides, and then encountered the swordfish swarm falling from the sky.

Each of these experiences was enough to bury a high-ranked ocean hunter at sea, but Luo and his companions had survived such an ordeal in a short time, and their ship remained undamaged.

Was it luck or strength?

In hindsight, luck might have played a part, but without misfortune, how would they encounter an unexpected storm? So, strength was the key.

"Yeah, still far from the threshold," Luo sighed.

"Were you scared just now?" Bisky asked suddenly with interest.

Luo was silent for a while, then replied, "Yes."

Bisky looked at Luo in surprise. She had asked jokingly, not expecting Luo to be scared, given his calm demeanor.

Luo slightly raised his head to meet Bisky's surprised gaze and said frankly, "I was afraid you'd die before me."

"Brat."

Bisky slapped Luo on the head.

The two smiled, knowing that this journey was fraught with danger, and dying the next second was not surprising.

Being a hunter was a high-risk profession, and death was a common occurrence.

They were mentally prepared for this when they embarked on the journey.

They wouldn't arrogantly claim to embrace death but wouldn't fear it either. The only thing they dreaded was seeing a close companion die before their eyes.

"Let me nap for a while."

Luo whispered wearily and fell asleep as soon as he finished speaking.

The numerous twists and turns had left him extremely exhausted, and he didn't even have the energy to inspect the swordfish on the deck.

Bisky nodded to Ms. Cookie, indicating she should stay and take care of Luo, and then headed to the cabin to tidy up the disrupted arrangements.

An hour passed, and Luo suddenly opened his eyes, his physical and mental fatigue completely gone.

Seeing Luo awake, Ms. Cookie withdrew her hands and gave Luo a sweet smile.

"Thanks."

Luo sat up and thanked Ms. Cookie.

Ms. Cookie shook her head, slowly stood up, and gradually faded away, eventually disappearing.

Her order was to massage Luo until he woke up. Since Luo was awake, there was no need to maintain her physical form, which would burden Bisky.

Luo watched Ms. Cookie disappear, then went to the swordfish corpses, placing his hand on their heads. The white smoke font immediately provided the identification information.

"B-class."

Luo withdrew his hand, looking at the twenty or so swordfish around, recalling the swordfish swarm earlier. There were at least three to four hundred of them.

That meant there were hundreds of B-class ingredients flying in the sky, and each B-class ingredient had a starting price close to tens of millions. It was like money flying everywhere.

"Salt them as provisions for the rest of the voyage."

Luo silently thought. Half of their supplies were lost in the storm. They might need to forage locally. Fortunately, they had this pile of swordfish, enough for a week's meals.

"Use the fish bones to patch the hull. I wonder if it will work."

Luo touched his chin, pondering how to repair the heavily damaged Lorry. It was their reliance to reach the Dark Continent.

With the ability of God's Hand, repairing the hull was not difficult, but materials like wood and plastic couldn't substitute for the needed hardness and toughness.

Suddenly, he remembered to document the recent events. He materialized a book and a pure white quill pen.

Opening the black pages, he used the quill to write down the encounter with the sky-reaching tides and the various strange creatures.

The quill pen was a nen product Luo created in the months after he conceived the idea. Initially, it was just for writing in the book, so he designed it.

Choosing the quill pen had no special meaning. It was just the simplest structure without ink requirements, making it the easiest to materialize.

In Luo's original design, the quill pen didn't have any special abilities. However, he couldn't materialize it without adding a nen function, which he eventually did successfully.

Scratch, scratch…

Luo wrote quickly, recording the recent encounter in no time before retracting the book and pen.

"Luo, there's a fleet!"

Tonpa rushed out of the cabin, excited.

Luo was stunned. A fleet in the Dark Sea?

"Where?" he asked.

"This way."

Tonpa ran to the right side, pointing at the sea ahead.

Luo focused his gaze, faintly seeing the silhouettes of more than ten ships.

"It's really a fleet."

Luo raised an eyebrow, surprised.

Bisky also came up, seeing the distant ship silhouettes, equally astonished.

Unlike Tonpa, they knew what this place was. Seeing a single ship was rare, let alone a fleet.

"Tonpa, tell the black cat to slow down," Luo said, glancing at Tonpa.

Tonpa nodded and ran off.

The Lorry got closer to the fleet.

After about ten minutes, Luo and Bisky saw the fleet clearly.

Bug ships!
