Chapter 501: Damage

The powerful wind was overwhelming, forcing the Lorry to maneuver crazily along the sea, continuously ascending at a rapid pace.

Fortunately, Luo amplified the range and effectiveness of "Zhou" with Divine Characters, covering the entire ship. Otherwise, in the face of such strong wind, the Lorry might have disintegrated in a short time.

Even though they avoided that dire consequence, the current situation was still not optimistic.

The Lorry was like a pair of small socks thrown into a washing machine, helplessly driven by the sea and wind.

Inside the cabin, Tonpa resignedly closed his eyes, gripping the reinforced railing tightly. With the support of Nen, he didn't let go amidst the violent shaking.

In the captain's cabin, Luo remained unmoved like a mountain, but sweat poured down his body like rain.

The Nen he infused into the Divine Characters was so vast that it nearly drained him. Maintaining the ability now was extremely difficult.

The black cat and Biscuit couldn't recklessly come to assist him, only gripping nearby objects to stabilize themselves.

Compared to the turbulent sea and sky, the Lorry was as insignificant as dust, rushing diagonally into the sky through a waterspout that pierced the clouds.

Above the endless sea of clouds, there were over a hundred fountains scattered within a hundred-mile radius, all formed by waterspouts piercing the clouds.

The three people and one cat looked towards the top of the sea of clouds in different directions, their faces changing at the sight before them.

Hundreds of giant birds they had never seen before circled around the fountains shooting up from below the clouds. The beaks, larger than the Lorry, opened and closed, always catching the marine life flung out by the fountains.

There were nearly a hundred fountains, but hundreds of giant birds.

Thus, to compete for prey, they could see the birds fighting each other, showcasing the brutal laws of nature.

As the Lorry's momentum weakened and it fell towards the sea of clouds, a giant bird flapped its wings and flew over. It didn't attack the Lorry but, in passing, its large reddish eyes brushed past them.

Tonpa also saw those eyes, so close that they chilled his limbs. He could see the bird's pupils contracting rapidly, as if puzzled by this lifeless, cold object.

The next second, before Luo and the others could react, the giant bird suddenly flapped its wings, sending the Lorry flying.

The Lorry plummeted like a javelin, piercing through the clouds, through thunder and lightning, and falling towards the sea below.

Tonpa's screams echoed, drowned out by the surrounding wind and rain.

In the captain's cabin, the faces of the black cat and Biscuit were extremely grim. The terrifying wind pressure broke through the defense of "Zhou," shattering the glass and flooding the cabin, scattering the secured supplies.

It's over.

The black cat and Biscuit lamented inwardly.

The weight of the Lorry, combined with the height and the force from the giant bird's strike, even with Nen protection, would cause it to disintegrate upon hitting the sea.

The black cat and Biscuit could think of this, and Luo was no exception.

He nearly drained all the Nen in his body, his face pale, his mood heavy.

"Black cat, come over and replenish my Nen."

He suddenly turned his head, a trace of electricity flickering in his eyes, his tone indisputable.

The black cat hesitated for a moment, then without a word, transformed into smoke, retracting into Luo's hand, transferring its stored Nen to him.

Faster than a blood transfusion, the effect was immediate. Luo's overly pale face gained a hint of rosiness, preparing to apply a stronger rule force to the Divine Characters.

At this moment, the Lorry struck a waterspout.

The powerful force pierced through the water, shattering the waterspout, unexpectedly cushioning the impact, and it landed safely in the sea.

As the entire ship just submerged, it was hit by a big wave, bounced back to the surface, and despite some seawater entering the cabin, it didn't affect navigation.

The terrifying ups and downs came too suddenly. Luo and Biscuit hadn't caught their breath when they suddenly realized the Lorry had already sailed to the edge of the storm.

The giant bird's life-saving wing had directly sent them to safety.

The black cat, without any room for negotiation, rushed out from Luo's hand, immediately controlling the console and steering the Lorry away from the irrational storm.

A few minutes later, the Lorry burst out of the dark sea, reaching the dividing line between black and white, seemingly seeing the cold breath of eternal night and polar day resisting each other.

Ahead, calm and peaceful.

Behind, stormy and windy.

Luo stopped channeling Nen, retracted the Divine Characters, the black symbols covering the Lorry returning and finally disappearing.

Despite the support of "Zhou," the Lorry still suffered extensive damage, becoming dilapidated.

"Black cat, keep watch here. Biscuit, come with me."

Luo, dragging his exhausted body, got up, rushed out of the captain's cabin, found the unconscious Tonpa, who was luckily not thrown out.

Using violent means to wake Tonpa, he had him help check the damage to the Lorry.

For a while, the three mobilized quickly.

The Lorry's hull was full of dents, with a large inward dent on the right side, caused by the giant bird's life-saving wing.

Aside from the damage slightly affecting the ship's balance, the most severe were the completely shattered windows, several leaking holes, and the loss of most of their supplies.

Food wasn't a concern, but fuel was crucial.

Luo immediately went to the room where the fuel was stored, relieved to find no loss.

After assigning some tedious tasks to Tonpa and Biscuit, Luo went to the deck to observe the surroundings.

At this moment, a strange noise came from above.

Luo looked up, his face stiffened.

Troubles came wave after wave.

Hundreds of arrow-like shadows shot out from the black clouds in the distance, heading straight for the Lorry.

Those shadows were peculiar fish, similar in size and length to adult sharks, with fins like fighter jet wings, and serrated structures on their heads, with lengths even reaching half their body length.

This group of peculiar fish seemed to have been brought up to the clouds by the waterspout and pushed by the wind created by the giant birds' wings, breaking through the clouds, diving like javelins.

"This is just the beginning."

Luo sighed, using his nearly depleted Nen to expand the domain.

Temporarily calling them arrowfish, they came with an impressive momentum, but Luo stopped them in mid-air, causing the other arrowfish to miss the Lorry and plunge into the sea, raising several meters high waves.

Luo's Nen consumption was too severe to fully defend.

After a dozen seconds, an arrowfish pierced through the left side of the Lorry...
