This is a bit of a different update, but I've been working on a major project that has a bit of overlap with Historic Sim Studios. That is Authentic Simulation's officially licensed Rush SR!

Last month, I flew out to Rush Auto Work's factory in Houston, Texas, where we gathered lots of data directly from the cars, talked with the Rush team, and I even spent roughly an hour behind the wheel across two different test sessions at MSR Houston. Rush Auto Works has provided us with full access to all telemetry data, CAD files, dyno testing sheets, and we have open access to any in-house proprietary data we need.

I've been working my tail off these last few weeks to get a beta version of the digital Rush SR finished in time for Gridlife's Laguna Seca festival, which was this last weekend. I set up a simulator in the Rush race team's garage and we worked with over a dozen drivers in-between their hotlapping and race sessions to get feedback and further develop the beta version of the Rush SR. Additionally, we have been provided with telemetry data from most of the race drivers and it will help us further dial in the mod to be as accurate as possible within Assetto Corsa.

The digital Rush SR will be coming to Assetto Corsa by January 1st, 2024, for $4 and Automobilista 2 early next year for ~$5. We also have plans to bring it to several of the games currently in development as official DLC or base content, and we should have some official announcements about these plans soon!

This weekend at Laguna Seca was amazing, and I am super excited about this project. But even moreso, I'm excited about the opportunities this brings for future projects. Both with modern cars at Authentic Simulation, but also historic projects for Historic Sim Studios.

The more I'm exposed directly to real life data and information, the further I can develop my skills as a physics programmer. Additionally, one officially licensed project often leads to others, as a studio's reputation increases, which is really exciting for Historic Sim Studios too!

This project is just the beginning, and I'm so excited to share more plans with all of you about the future major projects we have in the works here at Historic Sim Studios. I've also just launched Authentic Simulation's Instagram and a community discord group. Please feel free to join here:

As always, I want to thank you all for your support as we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in sim racing. These next few months are going to be some of the most exciting yet for the HSS community!
