( Side note, thanks everyone for contributing about the Outlines! )

I can see the thought was appreciated, but it might be best to steer clear of them. The environment is simply too complicated to give everything an outline, and while it's cool having them just on the characters, it's halfway jarring.

I'll have to re-do a couple of shots, but the goal is always to make the best final product possible.

Thanks for the input everyone, you changed the direction this was going in!

NOW FOR THE QUESTION, WE ALL WANT TO KNOW!

Who are you Rooting for?!

I'll all for Helena. From a pop culture perspective, Lara's already won culturally, so it's like Goliath punting David. She's going in there at level-99 vs level-30-at best. For Lara to win and keep the balance, she'd have to take a hell of a lot of punishment, or she'll ironically look very weak and down-punching. --- The strengths of these two are grossly uneven. One's a legendary video game ICON, and the other is... some fighting game woman. I know Helena's been around a while, but let's face it, only a choiced few of the earliest fighting game characters could even get slightly close to Lara in terms of impact. That's not me saying it's a bad idea for a battle, of course! I'm just saying that Lara's victory is beyond predictable at absolutely every turn. So I'm pulling for Helena, but if Lara wins I hope she looks as strong as possible - by taking some BIG bumps that make Helena look like a decent threat. I think your previous video demonstrated this well. I wouldn't put Samus at level 99 because her suit only came off about 10 years ago, give her 75 at best, and I'd give Widow 40/50. - In their bout, they both had a moment of dominance, where you think one's won over the other. It was really well done. But I rank them a little closer than Lara and Helena, so it'll be interesting to see how it works out. (sorry I typed a book. You know how I like to blabber about balance. LOL)

Hey there, Dr. Edgar, thanks for writing all that, everything you said was important and this level of thought is required for a project like this. I'll be honest, I'm only on the 5th shot, and this project has already been such a huge pain in the ass. From a technical aspect, this is behaving very differently from Samus vs Widowmaker. So many things are going wrong, it's scary. I'm not gonna look back fondly on this one. I'm regretting a lot of choices right about now. In any case. Yeah I agree. I'll be honest between the Opera House and the Dress, this is feeling like Lara's story, and Helena is the antagonist. This could be a valuable chance to make the Villianess win, but at the same time, it wouldn't feel like a Lara-centric story at that point. Although I did have Lara defeat Cassie, I see the rebooted version of the character as a completely separate entity with a separate cultural relevance. Something, I'm admittedly guilty of is, knowing next to nothing about the characters I work with. I couldn't tell you two things about Helena Douglass. I picked her because her art style was close enough to Lara's that I thought she'd be a good Blonde Rival. I'll keep a close eye on the poll, but they seem to be leaning in one direction....We'll see how this coin lands. Thanks for writing, as always!

I think Helena should win! While I appreciate Lara a lot, she's extremely arrogant and that is part of her appeal. But sometimes, there's nothing better than a cocky heroine getting her ass kicked by the underdog rival!!

I feel for you, I do a lot of weird experimental stuff, and one of my catchphrases is "why do I do this to myself? which usually is uttered after I've had a "great idea" for a series or a comic or something. I'm a big pop culture guy, and it's just not in my makeup to take newest iterations as new characters, it's why marvel Thor literally doesn't exist to me. I'm like "he's not yours, fuck off." And I'm with you, I don't know these characters either, again, I'm just a pop culture guy. It's why I hate people measuring power or skill levels to see who'd win, etc, it's all bulllshit. Who will win will be whatever the studio wants to win, it doesn't matter how much power or skill anyone has - if it wasn't, Superman vs Batman would have been 2 seconds of Superman farting on Bartman and Batman exploding at the speed of light. But culturally - err - well, no one's going home happy if hey did that. Not that I saw that movie, but you know what I mean! For me, I always seen blondes at a huge disadvantage in entertainment, culturally. I think our society put them over so heavily once upon a time that no one's realised that they always lose, now, especially in fight situations. I'm waiting for that medium to be met, but I always live in 'ope.

Preach, Brother. Someone wrote to me earlier saying they were dissapointed that Catwoman lost to Black Widow, and it's not the studio who decides a victor, its the writer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4_zFYnnn2Y&t=2s Stan Lee complained about people talking about the feats of fictional characters, and its so fucking cathartic. Why did Black Cat win? Cause I thought her big juicy thighs were a little sexier than Catwoman's, and given the climax of a Catfight, I'd rather see hers in action. End of story. Film and art is an escape to see the things we want to see. In Tenent, the plane crashing into the hangar had nothing to do with anything. Christopher Nolan thought it'd be a cool vehicle. People need to know when to let certain things go. Well, I'm 50 seconds into Lara vs Helena, and this project makes me want to blow my brains out. I seriously regret starting this, but oh well.

If you have to take a step back, or work on an easier project to build up to this one please do so. Your well-being is important to us!

Thanks dude. Literally I started animating around 10:30 this morning, it's 9:00 p.m. My time, and I've barely made any progress. Days like these are the hardest. I really appreciate what you're saying about mental health, I can't express enough how important it is to have a good mindset. That's half the battle. While we're talking about it, anything you'd like to see in this bout! Get your ideas out now!

Jesus. Your content may be pretty sexy, but I need a cigarette after that Stan Lee video - and I quit smoking 3 years ago! I wasnb't too fussed about who won the Black Cat vs Catwoman thing, but i was rooting for Black Cat. I think they're kinda simular, but Catwoman's got more history, so she definitely comes off as the predictable victor. Maybe if the project gets too tricky you could cut it short or something. Oh, and have you any plans to open a higher tier at any point? I wouldn't expect any extra work from it, just maybe some WIP showings, that sort of thing.

I think Lara should win here due to her being more of a 'central figure' in a story like this where she's sneaking around only to get caught in the "Ice Queen" Helena's stage. So, it's more like a heated brunette temptress versus an icy blonde queen type dynamic. If you can't decide, they either tie or something. Imo, if Lara is to lose, it probably should be after a series of wins. I don't think she should lose just yet. She's just too iconic imo. For example, I think....against a Chun Li, Mai Shiranui, or Sonya Blade....major gaming icons....that's where she would lose. I always suggest Mai to you because she has equally large melons...maybe even bigger. But Chun Li is considered 'the strongest woman' and is often rated #1 or #2 most popular female characters next to Lara. And Sonya is probably eager for payback after what happened to Cassie.

For the record, I completely agree with this. Regardless of how it comes out, I'm with you on that 100% Brother.
