not a question but a couple of things to comment on! we see in this episode that crowley is able to stop and start time without satan himself being able to interfere with it. like aziraphale’s flaming sword, crowley has his crank as his ‘holy artifact’ of sorts. we see it on the ground when his car explodes, and he wields it to start time again. with his crank, he has the ability to start things up — be it his car, time, or other things. we’ve now seen madam tracy ‘acting as’ aziraphale, aziraphale acting as crowley in hell, and crowley acting as aziraphale in hell. the little changes in their body language when the character is different is so interesting!

Thoughts on s1 and what do you hope to see in s2?

A lot of reactors don't realize right away that Aziraphale and Crowley have switched, but that's why "Aziraphale" acts kind of strangely to seeing the bookshop and why "Crowley" doesn't take the car. Going back and rewatching the last 10 minutes is great when you get to see all the acting choices.

And because you mentioned wanting a reminder, the song at the end of S1 (and the lyrics) are important.

Would you have made the same choice Anathema did to burn the book? Is Hell ultimately depicted as better than Heaven, since they were willing to have a trial (even if it's a rigged one), while Heaven just immediately went to sentencing/punishment? What are your thoughts about the fact that the culmination of Aziraphale's character arc for this season is that he needed to be willing to kill a child? (Obviously, he didn't go through with it, but it was weirdly important for him to realize that he was not above doing the dirty work himself instead of thinking himself "holier than thou"?

Also, just a warning for S2. They use a lot of the same actors in S2 but in different roles, so just because you see someone familiar doesn't mean they are the same person. Think of it as Doctor Who rules.

Thank you! I was just about to copy my original comment and post it here, but now I don't have to since you put the reminder in already haha

Oh yeah, it was a great thing to point out. Just definitely wanted to make sure he didn't miss it!

since you’ve mentioned getting a romantic vibe from crowley and aziraphale, i figured now would be a great time to mention that their ship name is “ineffable husbands” :)

A couple of questions first and then a few thoughts: First question - and this might wind up answered during your actual reaction - did you catch on to Crowley and Aziraphale's ruse to swap places before the reveal? If so, at what point did you figure it out and what gave it away for you? Second question: The flashback sequence from episode 3 is a fan favorite because it really explores the complex history between Crowley and Aziraphale. I'm curious which of the historical periods or flashbacks are your favorites - be it from episode 3 or otherwise. Third question: Given the way that season one ends, do you have any theories on season two? And lastly, some general info and thoughts that might not be obvious without background knowledge. The novel Good Omens came out in 1990 and people have been shipping Crowley and Aziraphale for at least that long. One of those very people is Michael Sheen, the actor who plays Aziraphale, who is a self-professed avid shipper of these two and has been since the book era. According to him, the rescue in 1941 - specifically Crowley rescuing his books from the explosion - is the moment that Aziraphale realizes he's in love with Crowley. I was highly amused that you said something very much along those lines when you got to that scene. A lot of show fans really caught on to the idea of romance between them during the 1941 sequence and during the 1963 sequence where Aziraphale gives Crowley the holy water. During their conversation in the car, Aziraphale says the line "You go too fast for me, Crowley", a line that many people interpret as being about their relationship. It always amuses me to watch straight reactors completely gloss over that interpretation and instead come to the conclusion that he means Crowley's driving.
