Hey friends,

If you checked out the LIVE last night, thank you, THANK YOU!! I was so glad Carly was there, made me so much less nervous, except poor thing was recovering from a gum graft but was a champ!

Here is what is coming up this week! I misspoke on the LIVE about Creed being this week, that's actually not for another few weeks. Also, if you missed it-the movie I pulled from the "pillowcase pull" was The Good, The Bad and The Ugly which I have been meaning to watch since Maverick-gate ;) so I am excited, it won't be until mid-June though for now as I catch up!

Also this week I will be doing a scary-but-not-too-scary-summer-blockbuster-poll! A poll for a different genre summer blockbusters for each month May-August! Yay!

Thank you all, love you all!

a great scary not scary movie is the classic 1963 version The Haunting

Full Metal Jacket is a great movie but as a Marine, the bootcamp part is how it is but I think this movie isn't for you do to the nature of the Vietnam War and how it was fought by our sided and theirs. Hope you get to watch a feel-good movie afterwards

ArsTropica

Pitch Black for not too scary… :)

Sahitya

Really late to this but scary but not too scary I would choose Ready or Not(2019). It's fun above all else but does have some horror. Plus I think the concept would really appeal to Cassie, as messed up as that may sound lol

Looking for "scary but not too scary" films, may I recommend: "The Haunting" - 1963. NOT the 1999 remake "The Legend of Hell House" - 1973 "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" - 1995. Can't go wrong with Mel Brooks (the gags work best if you've seen a couple of Dracula movies). "House of Wax" - 1953 with Vincent Price (can't go wrong with Vincent Price). NOT the 2005 remake! "House on Haunted Hill" - 1959 (Vincent Price again. Really anything with him is worth watching. NOT the 1999 remake!

FMJ? That'll be interesting.

A scary-but-not-too-scary-summer-blockbuster. After some deliberation I think The Mummy (1999) would be a great ride for Cassie and fits all requirements.

I think Fallen (1998) is the only demon possession movie Cassie can watch. With a great cast. Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Donald Sutherland, James Gandolfini, Embeth Davidtz, Elias Koteas.

This war poll isn't like the western poll. These are all legitimate war movies. Love or hate them they all are suitable choices. Maverick was....well....nevermind.

Michael Threapleton

For a scary summer movie with Harrison Ford I suggest Frantic (1988). The early part of the movie when Ford is dealing with the hotel is brilliantly done.

Michael Labs

Another movie with Harrison Ford that might be a good summer "suspense" would also be "What Lies Beneath".

Johnny

Three Amigos is a better western than Maverick.

Stephen Malloy

The 2005 “War of the Worlds” with Tom Cruise was a big summer blockbuster and more actiony than scary.
