Doh! Typo on Point Break, won't let me edit, sorry to those affected by this..

okie dokie smokies, lets do a poll!

This is the 2nd poll of 3 for summer blockbuster movies I’ve missed over the past 5 decades! These movies were all released during the summertime, and were box office blockbusters of their time. I’m only going to watch the 1 winner of the poll, but most of these movies will probably be on other polls, so don’t be discouraged if the one you want doesn’t win! I’m kind of excited to see almost all of these movies.

I was surprised the last poll didn't have a Horror film winner! But Carly & I really loved Speed, so I am super excited for what wins this poll, and the next one!

In July the final Summer Blockbuster poll will be "Comedy."

You can vote for as many as you choose, the poll will close 6/25/22 at 12am MST

I think... It looks like it's really going to happen. Cassie will finally get to watch ET. I am so happy. I've been wanting this since her first live stream event.

Snöffe

Noo!! I’m on vacation and didnt have the chance to vote for 5th element

Rich Campbell

Jolly good. I think she'll love it. We'll have to get the "which version is she watching" issue figured out. As far as I know, and according to a useful web source, there are two versions. edit: THESE TIMES MIGHT BE WRONG, Credit to Gábor Árki. Director's Cut: 01:54.59 (including closing credits) Theatrical Version: 01:49.53 (including closing credits) Source: https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=5229907 I don't know which streaming services Cassie uses, or which version is available.

Carol_White

Oh Christ, I forgot about the director's cut. We need the handguns.

Rich Campbell

Yeah, I'd go with the theatrical cut if it were up to me. Perhaps Cassie has been given the BluRay with both versions.

Gábor Árki

Spielberg himself acknowledged the error and abandoned the Director's Cut later on. I don't think this version has been released or made available since its DVD release. Afaik all HD and 4K editions featured the unaltered theatrical cut only.

Gábor Árki

Also, I think these runtimes are off (or more likely refer to the PAL sped up version): - The theatrical cut is 1h55m beyond doubt - Managed to find the Director's Cut in PAL DVD rip. That is 1h55m, so converting back to the original 24p version it should be 1h59m

Stick Figure Studios

Yeah, as Gabor said, Spielberg briefly listened to his friend Lucas when he created the "special edition" with the walkie-talkies, but then later regretted and disowned it. Cassie should have no trouble finding the original theatrical version.

Yaisu

I hope she still watches the fifth element.

The people have spoken.

Please watch the 5th Element at some point. It only lost by 10 votes... it has finished second in multiple polls now. It's a little goofy, but a lot of fun and I feel like you'd really enjoy it.

Cassie used Amazon for The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly; which would be the 1h54m version for E.T..

I'm sorry and please don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful....and to all you who love it so, you are surely entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine. That said, My mama taught me that if you don't have nothing nice don't say anything at all So I won't tell you what I REALLY think of........ ET. ( I'LL JUST GAG AND ROLL MY EYES A LOT!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂)

'Pappy' Johnston

Yeah Cassie! EVERYTHING Intoxikatie just said. You WOULD love it. 🤣😂🙂👍🏻

'Pappy' Johnston

Ok (with all due respect to Tyler)... I'll play your silly game....*thinking of a nice way to put it* "No Sir......I don't like it. I DON'T LIKE IT A LOT!"😂🤣😂🤣

'Pappy' Johnston

Totally looking forward to a Cassie, (...and hopefully Carly as well), reaction to 'The Fifth Element,' as well as 'Open Range.' both of which I voted for on the request page! 😂🤣😂🤣

Adam Richardson

Looking forward to seeing you react to The Fifth Element. Wish I’d checked in here a little sooner, I would’ve cast my vote for District 9.

jeffrey bruce

OK. This list is unusual. It's like comparing apples to fountain pens. But it should be interesting.

Kristin D

Dangit! I missed the vote. Fifth Element is such a brilliant movie, I'm sad it lost. I hope some day you watch it.

Kristin D

So right! I've been waiting for her to watch this. My husband and I love this move so much!
