Update: Uses the wrong poster, we watched Die Hard 2

Hey yyyoouuuu ggguuyyysss!!

How are you? How are your families? I’m excited about this week-I found the perfect gift for the hardest family member to buy for, I had my favorite chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream as a midnight snack last night in a quiet house with the Christmas tree twinkling and felt so joyful! Also I get to watch some fun movies with you ❤️❤️

I am actually giddy about all these, Carly and I watched Die Hard 2 last night. At first she made a ‘grimace’ face when I told her what we were watching but by the end she was like “k I actually love these movies” we had fun! To clear up any confusion, I have not seen While you Were Slseping. I realized a while back my whole adult life I had been mixing it up with Sleepless in Seattle, even on my calendar this month I wrote “sleepless in seattle” 🤦🏼‍♀️ So I watched a trailer and realized I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT ON A SANDY BULLOCK ROM COM 😱😱 Can’t even wait!!

Next week we will have Lethal Weapon, Trading Spaces and Miracle on 34th Street !! i also decided to watch 1st and 2nd place on the Christmas Poll so White Christmas will be this month!

Have a wonderful week, you rock!

Cassie

Choof

YES, so excited for LOTR

Daniel Muzi

Die hard with a vengeance is die hard 3, is that also coming or is it just the wrong movie poster?

Amy Silknitter

Gahhhhhh!!! White Christmas! I’m so excited. It’s my favorite! You’ll love it!

MatthewBrown74m

That poster is die hard with a vengeance not die hard 2 lol just so you know cassie

Joseph Rardin

I thought you were going to watch The Magnificent Seven soon.

Kat Farlowe

You will LOVE While You Were Sleeping! So funny and sweet and Bill Pullman never looked better!

Chris W

Loving that you're sharing LOTR with Carly. Fellowship was great, and I know it's only going to get better, all the way up to the end of Return of the King.

Wyatt Nuxoll

The die hard movie poster you posted " Die hard with a vengeance " is the third die hard film . The second film is. "Die hard 2 die harder "

Russell Teo

My fav bald guy

PapaXan

Great week ahead!

Michael Lynch

Yes please do Die Hard 2 before Vengeance (part 3).

Brian McGovern

Hopefully she skipped Die Hard 2 and watched 3 by mistake. They really are the only Die Hard movies worth watching although 2 is set around Christmas again. With the intro to this post, do you think Cassie has watched The Goonies before? Very much a Chunk thing to say.

Steven Ashford

No, you Rock. As for me and my family we are still getting over the loss of our dog Hunter, she died Thanksgiving Day😭She was a sweet dog and was nine years old. My wife and son took it hard and I haven’t faired much better. You and Carly help keep my spirits up! Don’t ever stop reacting, you all do so much for so many.

Brian Jones

I know that others have pointed it out, but Die Hard with a Vengeance is the 3rd film in the series. So does this mean you are doing a reaction to both, or just put the wrong film poster in the schedule? That being said, Die Hard with a Vengeance is a far superior film to Die Hard 2, so if you enjoyed 2 you're going to love 3. If you watched 3 I'd still suggest watching 2 (which isn't bad) as well, but 3 is still immensely better in every way. :)

Brett Ammons

Die Hard with a vengeance is basically Die Hard 3! Please watch Die Hard 2! It’s really good!

Aaron

Revisiting LOTR with you and Carly has been the highlight of the last week for me. I lost my job and it's during the holiday season so I've been pretty down... Thank you for always being so cheerful to "hang out with".

Jason Dolan

I thought she was watching THE GOONIES 🤣

Cole Jennett

Woohoo! While You Were Sleeping! Pretty good week! I love Die Hard 2 as well, not sure why it gets hate! The first 3 are all really good imo

Richard Bourne

Yes I just noticed that. Die Hard 2 takes place at an airport. Die Hard three is a NYC heist. Very different movies.

Mike LL

Just teasing us with the Die Hard With a Vengeance poster, huh? Well now that you are getting Die Hard 2 out of the way, we can all explain that Die Hard 3 (With a Vengeance) is a summer action blockbuster movie, not a Christmas film at all, and best to watch at mid summer, so we only have to wait 6 months or so to see the most superior sequel to the first Die Hard film!

David Freese

Great next 2 weeks of movies. I am really on pins and needles with anticipation about Two Towers and DieHard 2. Lethal Weapon is so fun too. (IM TOO OLD FOR THIS STUFF) 😂 Thanks for a wonderful slate and are you doing a live for birthday or Christmas this year???

Gilbert Gonzalez

While You Were Sleeping is pretty good, I grew up watching that because it was one of my mom’s favorites lol

Steve Barrett

Glad you hadn’t seen while you were sleeping. I requested it a while back and was told you already saw it. You’ll love it. I have a similar reaction to Bruce Willis movies….not too excited before, and then I remember after he’s frikin great!!

Thomas Schmid

Can't wait on the LotR reaction!!!

sarCC

It's just Die Hard 2. "Die Harder" was only used as the tagline in the advertising.

Uncle Phoenix

Yipee Ki Yeah!!! Sleepless in…wait,... I mean, Woohoo, for the Sandy Bullock Christmas, chick flick. It’s starting to feel like Christmas.

Pickupthepieces76

Solid and fun line-up the coming weeks. Can't wait for it.

James1035

Die Hard 2 is a very entertaining movie. I don’t get why people don’t like it either. As I’m sure you can guess I’ve never seen While You Were Sleeping either

Bill Hayden

No, Cassie. YOU are the one who rocks. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm just sitting on my butt being entertained. You're doing all of the work. Can't wait till next week. 😉🙂

Rhett Merchant

Which miracle on 34th? If you can watch either I recommend the original with Maureen O'Hara! So much better.

Mike LL

James1035

So it seems like Carly is an action movie fan. I love that. It’s one of my favorite genres of movies. I’m happy to read she liked it. I hope you watch Lethal Weapon with her. She will love that series too.

Mike LL

No, it was The Bridge Over the River Kwaii that was the runner up in the bracket.

Richard Bourne

While you were sleeping.... chick flick. Before that even for Sandra was Love Potion Number 9. Rebecca Staab was at her peak in that movie as the bar blonde bombshell.

Ian Cano

I can't wait for Trading Spaces. Finally some home improvement on this channel. 😁

Orcagirl78

Yay!! So glad you're watching White Christmas! I really think you're gonna like it! Glad it's the 1947 Miracle you're watching. Better than 1994s

Planner

Sandra Bullock "romances" that aren't on Cassie's Seen list: Demolition Man, Practical Magic, The Lake House, Hope Floats, 28 Days, Forces of Nature, Love Potion #9, Speed 2 ... Demolition Man might be a stretch to call it a romance 😀 Sandra Bullock movies that are not on Cassie's "Seen" list: https://popcornrequests.com/filters_binary/eyJjdXN0b20iOiIhbS5wZW9wbGUgfHwgbS5wZW9wbGUuY2FzdC5maWx0ZXIobT0+bS5saW5rPT1cIi9wZXJzb24vMTgyNzctc2FuZHJhLWJ1bGxvY2tcIikubGVuZ3RoPT0wIiwiZXhjbHVzaW9uIjp7ImNhc3NpZV9zZWVuIjoiZXhjbHVkZSJ9fQ==

Art of Free Speech

Really looking forward to next week. It'll be the first week I've liked all 3 films! Yay!

Aaron Mann

While on the topic of action movies, please please watch True Lies. It's been number 1 on Planner's popcorn requests app since the beginning, and it's just a super fun action flick that you would absolutely love (and Carly too if she can make it).

Wyatt Nuxoll

Yes, I know. I just hope that Cassie watched die hard 2 and not die hard with a vengeance because the poster on the left depicts die hard 3

Caomhan84

Cassie, you're not the only one who mixed up While You Were Sleeping with Sleepless in Seattle.... I also did it for nearly my entire life. I thought I had seen both, but I had only seen While you Were Sleeping once as a child, and I had never seen Sleepless in Seattle... Until a few years ago, probably 2019 or 2020 when I went through a heavy nostalgia trip and wanted to watch nothing but '90s movies for a solid week.

Joseph

Wait! so are we gonna get a YouTube release of you guys reacting to Die Hard 2? Or are you guys skipping making a reaction for that to just go straight to “with a vengeance”? The picture you posted is throwing me off.

Victoria Cousins

Sweet, super excited for this week!

Aaron Mann

She's watching Die Hard 2 this week. She got the posters mixed up. Although, I suspect DH3 will be down the road.

JohnB

Soooo, did you watch Die Hard 2 or Die hard: With a Vengeance? If it's the latter, that's okay, you can probably skip the second one.

Phil Stubblefield

Speaking as a (the?) guy who loves While You Were Sleeping, what a great line-up! You've got a Bruce Willis action flick, another installment of the greatest fantasy story ever written and/or filmed, and a great rom-com! Cassie, you are becoming a true renaissance woman! ;)

Shawn Kildal

Wished we could have watched Holiday Inn before White Christmas. Paramount Pictures created White Christmas based of the success of the song White Christmas that originated in Holiday Inn several years before. White Christmas is a good movie but Holiday Inn is one of the very few movies with 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Jason Dolan

Is Die Hard with a Vengeance a Summer Solstice movie?

Mike Lemon

Goonies is on the "watched list", page 11. https://letterboxd.com/pib1/films/

Mike LL

Magnificent Seven did very well in the bracket, so it will come up again for consideration, for sure.

Joseph

Thank goodness. I’ve always thought of the third film as a “summer movie” so I thought it was weird she had the poster for it in December.

Mike Lemon

God Summoned A Beast (A Fable) Author unknown God summoned the beast from the field and He said "Behold, man is created in my image. Therefore adore him. You shall protect him in the wilderness, shepherd his flocks, watch over his children, accompany him wherever he may go... even into civilization. You shall be his companion, his ally, his slave." "To do these things," God said, "I endow you with the instincts uncommon to other beasts: Faithfulness, Devotion and Understanding surpassing those of man himself. Lest it impair your courage, you shall never foresee your death. Lest it impair your loyalty, you shall be blind to the faults of man. Lest it impair your understanding, you are denied the power of words. Speak to your master only with your mind and through your honest eyes." "Walk by his side; sleep in his doorway; ward off his enemies; carry his burden; share his afflictions; love and comfort him. And in return for this, Man will fulfill your needs and wants... which shall be only food, shelter and affection." "So be silent and be a friend to man. Guide him through the perils along the way to this land I have promised him. This shall be your destiny and your immortality." So spoke the Lord. And the dog heard, and was content.

Tringard

can't believe you hadn't seen While You Were Sleeping, my sister I watched that several times when we were younger. Looking forward to that reaction

Robert da Spruce

As others have pointed out. The poster you have is for Die Hard 3. Whichever Die Hard you guys watched, I’m down for it! Looks like a great week ahead!

Katie Jackson

Yes!!! I'm so glad you're watching While You Where Sleeping! One of my favorite Sandra Bullock movies. I hope that means you got the copy I sent you around Thanksgiving. Can't wait for this reaction. Maybe another one with Carly? If she hasn't seen it and has the time. I think she'd love it too.

Michael Jung

You're gonna LOVE While You Were Sleeping!

Michael Jung

Hey, everyone! Has anyone thought of requesting cult Disney classics Cassie may not have seen? Here are my picks: "The Rocketeer," "Return to Oz," "The Cat from Outer Space "

Katie Jackson

So are 28 Days and Speed 2. Also no one should have to watch Speed 2😄

Mike Adams

OMG Rocketeer is amazing, and my reasoning is definitely not due to Jennifer Connelly

Bruce C Snell

As long a I'm still alive, you won't be THE (only) guy who loves While You Were Sleeping. :-D I watch it most years around this time (at about the same time I watch Love Actually). Great flick.

Bruce C Snell

Such great choices this week -- I know my evenings will be busy.

Mike LL

Hey, I resemble that remark! And she's never seen the original Mary Poppins!

Christopher Smith

I would also suggest the Kurt Russell double feature of Strongest Man in the World and The Computer that wore Tennis shoes. Merlin Jones stuff is fun as well as Funicello.

Rue

Return to Oz is really good, but it's also one of those movies that came out in the 80s and thoroughly traumatized a whole generation of kids lol So yeah, keep that in mind, since Cassie's not a big fan of super intense stuff.

Larry Darrell

Woo Hoo!!!! White Christmas!!! Woo Hoooooooo!!!

Ronny Boss

Is everyone in your family as charismatic as you and Carly?

Tyler Foster

Still waiting with bated breath (almost as much as the winner, I'm sure) to find out if we're also getting a Cher rom-com as Moonstruck was on both the most recent Trivia winner and my lists...!

Larry Darrell

Were you referring to Rear Window? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUV5FN_4p70 Or L.A. Confidential? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXQkKcE1wLs Or is there another? That was fun. We need more practice for trivia like this. ;)

Mike LL

Larry, I'm sorry I deleted my earlier comment by accident, where I posited that Cassie had heard Bing Crosby sing in a film on this channel before. Yes, it was Rear Window I was thinking of specifically, I had forgotten about L.A. Confidential! Bing didn't appear in either of the films, but his recorded singing voice can clearly be heard in each film. That is what I get for playing with the Patreon app on my phone after I have gone to bed! Yes I am very excited to see White Christmas here soon, and the 1947 Miracle on 34th St also!

Mike LL

It will be the original 1947 Miracle with the wonderful Maureen O'Hara, who Cassie saw previously playing Mary Kate Danaher in the John Wayne film The Quiet Man. She is the star of Miracle, but without the Irish accent!

Larry Darrell

Room for one more? I watch it every year in December, along with The Holiday.

Richard Maurer

Yeah, that made me laugh too. I think there are still plenty of good movies and shows left to react to before we get to Trading Spaces.

Larry Darrell

No problem, I had fun anyways. I actually just re-watched Rear Window last Saturday. Didn’t realize, she watched it almost exactly a year ago. One of my Favorites. And here's hoping for at least one more Christmas Cheer film.

Larry Darrell

So funny reading everyone's confusion comments about watching Die Hard 2 or Die Hard with a Vengeance. Don't ya'll know Cassie's a Mom. You have to run her posts through a "Mom Translator." For example, Trading Spaces = Trading Places, and every Die Hard title is the next Die Hard film she hasn’t seen, in order of release. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcviVDizlJ0 Luv ya Cass!! ;)

Tyler Foster

The guy who won and whose pick is still TBD also chose: Coming to America (1988) Edward Scissorhands (1990) Kindergarten Cop (1990) Chef (2014)

Phil Stubblefield

Okay, you guys have restored my faith in our half of humanity! It's okay to love motorsports, movie violence, *and* rom-coms! ;)

Larry Darrell

Thanks a bunch!! I’ll be hoping for Moonstruck as well. But, being December and all, Edward Scissorhands is a distinct possibility. Either would be fun.

Larry Darrell

The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Summer in the City” opening the movie makes it a perfect film to kick off the Summer.

Andrew Rose

In complete agreement regarding Speed 2..... Jeez that movie was baaaaad.

Larry Darrell

I personally try not to choose between them. Love them both and watch them both.

Jack Pflieder

Something to watch in January Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Kahn, Star Trek 3 The search for Spock, Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home.

Ike

Heard that? Cassie said that I “Rock”.🤘 Yeah, it’s going to be a great Holiday Season for my family and me - I can already tell.

Wesley White

glad to see you're feeling festive lol! sounds like you had a tastey late night treat lol! can't believe you picked the wrong Die Hard poster, that's so hilarious🤣the moment I saw LOTR The Two Towers ont his update, I was grinning from ear to ear lol! gosh I can't wait to see you and your sister's reaction to The Two Towers, that's gonna be GREAT!!!!! hope you have a wonderful week as well miss Cassie, you're awesome, much love and support, and......stay classy Cassie lol!🥰😁😉👍

Shawn Kildal

I'm not saying choose between them necessarily, watch them both for sure but if it wasn't for the movie Holiday Inn, White Christmas would have never been made. I just think Holiday Inn should be watched first.

Wendy

So glad you're continuing with the Lord of the Rings Journey with Carly! While you were sleeping is one of my favorite Sandra Bullock movies, love it so much. I hope you, Carly and your family have a great holiday.

Stick Figure Studios

Some good movies coming up. While it makes sense that you both would watch DIE HARD 2 together since you watched (and liked) the first one together, I would've cautioned Carly about it as the sequel increases the violence quotient considerably (different director from the original), but I am pleased that Carly did end up liking it. It's pretty thrilling. Not as good as it's predecessor, but worth seeing nonetheless (I actually saw it first as an adolescent). I agree with everyone who says you should see the third one too, but probably best to stop after that. Really looking forward to seeing Carly continue her journey through Middle Earth and let me once again compliment you on choosing the extended editions. Like everyone else, I can't believe you've never seen WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING. It's a perfect "Cassie movie." You will love it. Some great films coming up after this week too, but I'll wait until later to comment on those. Keep up the good work. :-)

Planner

Speed 2 has the romance tag on IMDb 😀 Sandra Bullock, romance, Cassie (and Carly) have reacted to the first one... It definitely does need to be said that it's awful or there would be a decent chance that Cassie watches it at some point 😂 I haven't felt the need to watch it myself, so I wouldn't know... Though the web app only has one person requesting it, so that's saying something. I also haven't seen 28 Days and was mostly going by the poster...

Stick Figure Studios

Cassie has also be ever seen THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, a solid contender for the title of Disney's greatest animated feature ever.

Christopher Smith

Die Hard 2 is the "Stuck in the Airport" Christmas movie. However, be sure and note that Die Hard with a Vengeance is a "Summertime in the City" movie, not Christmas. So be sure not to wait a year on the next installment there.

Larry Darrell

Fair enough, Holiday Inn came first. But, the films are unrelated, so no harm done there. White Christmas is more centered around Christmas the whole time, while Holiday Inn features multiple Holidays. If Holiday Inn is better, then there’s nothing wrong with saving the best for last. White Christmas is still a very lovely and Heartwarming film that I watch every year at Christmas. Wouldn’t feel like Christmas without it. Will be fun when she properly gets introduced to Fred Astaire, though. Wonder if she knows she’s seen him before? Hint: He was in “Heaven”

Larry Darrell

Speed 2, “Great film. Sandy B in a sarong.” (Fist Bump) https://youtu.be/Bo2NZZmuB20

N M

I hope one of you “calls and audible” and includes THE FAMILY MAN this season…. I promise, it’s worth seeing the sooner the better!

R F.

Count me in for the “Trading Places”! How about John Candy movies? You all caught up there? “The Great Outdoors”? “Uncle Buck”?

Matt Rose

One night when you and Carly are debating on what to what next, consider KISS KISS, BANG BANG. It's written and directed by Shane Black who wrote LETHAL WEAPON 1 and 2, THE LAST BOY SCOUT, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, THE NICE GUYS, and IRON MAN 3. It's Robert Downey Jr's finest and funniest movie, and Val Kilmer's performance as 'Gay Perry' is right up there with his Doc Holiday from TOMBSTONE. Like all Shane Black films, it's set at Christmas so hey...it's thematically appropriate.

Michael Larsen

Hope you'll still consider the first season of True Detective, that you said you'd watch a long time ago, when it got second place in a poll :)

Matt Rose

The first season is amazing. Too bad seasons 2 and 3 (especially 2) were such letdowns.

Michael Jung

Yeah, I've heard some audiences were scared by certain scenes. Personally, I remembered watching the movie over and over again when I was 9 and being entranced by the music, the look of the characters, the comedy, and the suspense. I do think it's worth noting that after rewatching the MGM Wizard of Oz with Cassie and seeing her reaction, that film had plenty of scares too (the witch actually freaked me out more as a kid than anything in Return to Oz). Might be interesting to see how Cassie compares the two.

Tarheel72

I agree you should watch True Detective.

Gábor Árki

After this news I had to re-watch last year's Die Hard reaction today. Almost forgot how amazing that reaction was. Can't wait to see your Die Hard 2 reaction as well. Now that Hans fell, I'm starting to get into Christmas spirit.😃 I still just need to squeeze in Love Actually, my other almost annual Christmas flick.

Michael Lynch

Finally, Lethal Weapon. Man it’s going to be awesome.

John Casamassa

Can't wait for the Two Towers reaction!!!

Björn Von Knorring

It is not a real christmas until you have watched Hans Gruber falling from the Nakatomi plaza😛

MoulinNoir

I hope you know that when you are watching LOTR again for Carly's first time, all the fun you have seeing her experience for the first time these movies you know and love... is the same joy we feel when we watch movies with you on your channel (idk if you talk about this already while watching Fellowship, i'm waiting for RoTK so i can binge all three)

Mike LL

I’m hoping she starts with TOS episode “Space Seed”

Odd Thomas

Lethal Weapon and Die Hard movies very moreish so I hope you watch them all! (ok maybe not Die Hard 5)

Steve Colletti

I sent her KISS KISS, BANG BANG a long time ago. It's hardly a classic, more of hidden gem. So far the only film I've sent that she's watched was Tremors. There are too many film experts in this Patreon, so I'm focusing on more obscure, but good films.

Hannah Mather

While you were sleeping is one of my favorites, YAY

Paul Stelter

Really hope "The Bishop's Wife" is in the Christmas mix somewhere because I think we all know Cassie will be a Cary Grant fan.
