The boys are back together and all is right. I could literally watch mando read children’s books to him all day and be happy so this is all just extra fun! It's their world, we're just watching it. Dying to watch episode 3!

Cassie! You have great questions! Much of the answers you seek were presented in the multi season long animated series, The Clone Wars. Who Bo Katana is, where she came from, Mandalore before the 'purge' Obi Wan Kenobi's 'relationship' with her sister 😉 and so much more. When your boys get old enough, I'm sure you'll watch that series with them, and enjoy their reactions!

20 °C during the day, mostly sunny with some clouds, and trees/flowers started blooming. Although we haven't even had a real winter, just 1-2 weeks of colder weather and no snow at all. But this seems to be the new norm during the past decade. I'm surprised how little activity is here, only 8 comments in 13 hours. Or everybody else is planning to wait until April to start this season like me, so that it can be covered with only 1 month of D+ subscription?

Some context from a super nerd: Mando’s group are the children of the watch. They are descendants of a Mandalorian cult called “death watch” who, back in the time of the clone wars, caused all kinds of problems for Bo Katan’s Sister Satine. They wanted to go back to the “old ways” ie: helmets always, warrior race, etc. In the clone wars animated series there are a bunch of episodes that play this out. Obi Wan actually develops a “thing” for Bo Katan’s Sister Satine, who is killed by Darth maul, who joined forces with death watch. So, even though Mando’s group isn’t specifically death watch, Bo has an understandable resentment toward them because they are, as she says “children of the watch”

Long story short, Bo Katan was the Jan Brady of her family. Jealous of her older sister, decided to rebel by joining a local cult. Said cult got her sister killed and kickstarted a civil war, she abandoned her cult the moment things got hard. Now she's doing her best to pretend like she had nothing to do with the destruction of Mandalore.

The CHILDREN of the watch got Mandalore into a civil war and destroyed, not The Watch itself. Maul coming in during The Clone Wars was more so an outside takeover. Bo is not referring to any events during The Clone Wars when she talks of the planet and isn't trying to dodge blame for that because that's not when the planet was destroyed. That wasn't the civil war. The Great Purge is what she refers to which happened after we last saw her in Rebels. It appears she didn't have enough support from The Children of The Watch which made them weak and unorganized against The Empire

I thought the same thing but have now decided that it only seems that way because we are shifting from the formula of each episode being it's own adventure to focusing on a bigger story with many parts playing out.

Another request to please watch Clone Wars. I don't even need a reaction (bc it would take forever). It's a good show that every Star Wars fan should watch (not to mention the whole "adding context to characters and their motivations" thing).

Agreed, and I've said the exact same thing several times about Clone Wars AND Rebels. While I'd love to see the reactions, having the character background is incredibly important -- ESPECIALLY from this point forward.
