"Big Trouble in Little China" and "Escape From New York" are essential Kurt Russell movies! Both of them also John Carpenter movies

Jeff Rogers

SO many Kurt Russell movies... He's been making them since he was a kid. Maybe try "The Best of Times" with him and Robin Williams... He made another movie with Goldie called Swing Shift.

Isaac

I keep thinking that's Bonnie Tyler in the thumbnail lol

Gary B

For some reason I thought that was done already, I think it was a different channel though

John Armbruster

There is not a bad Kurt Russell movie. And he's insanely versatile, he's done everything. How the man doesn't have an Oscar is a crime.

Alberto Blanco

Goldie Hawn "Foul Play" 1978..Kurt Russell oooh little seen Used Cars an absolutely childish comedy..or the thriller Breakdown which will stress the crap out of you.

Morgan A. Colbert

America's Parents right there, I love the two of them together so much. p.s. Kurt Russell's BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA is one of my very favorite movies. I would love to watch that along with Popcorn in Bed any day!

Jeff Rogers

I was trying to think of romantic comedies... I really like the movie "Soldier", but I don't think she would

james flack

I haven't watched it yet, but I'm wondering if Cassie knows who Pee Wee Herman is. 🤔💛

David Conroy

"Who's Pee-Wee Herman?" Yeah... Don't ask.

jdj830

Cassie: you need to watch Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure. And you need to do absolutely no research into who he is either before or after watching it. But you will enjoy the movie. (Which is very summer-y btw.)

Mike Lemon

Escape from New York is also terrible and Big Trouble probably isn't Cassie's cup of tea.

Mike Lemon

"There is not a bad Kurt Russell movie. " Escape from L.A.. And Escape from New York is getting down there.

Bill W

Kate Hudson's father is musician/actor Bill Hudson (formerly of The Hudson Brothers). He is also Oliver Hudson's father. Bill later married Cindy Williams (of Laverne & Shirley fame). Also, I have a boat. I'll be your friend.

Heath

Kurt Russell movies you should see is Backdraft, Breakdown, Tango and Cash and Miracle.

Jamison Bognuda

Watching this reaction, I immediately recognized the harbor at the beginning. I can see in the background the lodge I stay at for work every week. Damn, I never knew this was filmed there.

Bill W

jdj830 my heart sank a little bit when she said that.

Bill W

"There's not a bad Kurt Russell movie" and apparently there's no such thing as hyperbole either. His best performance was Miracle. Excellent, but still not quite Oscar worthy.

Robert Hobbs

RomCom gold. You must watch Housitter with Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin. Very romantic and very funny.

Richard Bourne

A little known be great Kurt Russel comedy is "Used Cars" 1980. The following year he did the classic "Escape from New York" which is a hard core thriller. Amazingly different performances back to back.

Chris

I was talking to you all the way through this reaction. Mainly saying "Just wait, Cassie. Just wait." I don't know how many times I've seen this movie, but I've enjoyed it each time and my only regret is that Carly didn't watch it with you! Big Trouble In Little China is one I think you would enjoy, as others have suggested.

james flack

Exactly what is a Pee Wee Herman sandwich?......R,HTP 😁

Morgan A. Colbert

I spent a lot of my childhood doing the Pee Wee Herman dance. His show also taught me how to whistle! Lord I’m old.

Maxoutkast

Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure up next!!!

Larry Darrell

Nice talking to you too. Just curious, though, am I a Good Guy or a Bad Guy? Because I didn’t mean to be a Bad Guy.

Bill W

I second Backdraft and Miracle. Miracle might be Kurt's best performance and the most realistic hockey movie I've seen.

Terry Yelmene

I also endore Backdraft and Miracle... BUT Miracle is ALMOST ESSENTIAL for both Cassie and Calry to react to. We all know the two women appreciate 'sports' stories... well "Miracle' and the story of the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team is arguably the Greatest Sports Story of All-Time! I strongly encourage you (and Carly) react to that one Cassie!

JB

Other good/fun Kurt Russell movies, of course The Thing, Big Trouble......, Tequila Sunrise(Crime Drama Romance)

Javier Hernandez

Kurt Russell: Escape From New York (1981) pulp classic that somewhat put him on the map The Thing (1982) the second of three versions of this story Swing Shift (1984) - Goldie and Kurt's romance started on this set Big Trouble in Little China (1986) - campy and Carly level scary Backdraft (1991) - firefighter classic, one of Ron Howard's early films Executive Decision (1996) - with Halle Berry, terrorists take over a plane Dark Blue (2002) - Corrupt cops Miracle (2004) - Hockey gold Poseidon (2006) - remake of the 1970s classic Bone Tomahawk (2015) - 1800s cowboys on a rescue mission DO NOT watch with Carly Guardians of the Galaxy II (2017) The Christmas Chronicles I (2018) II (2020)

Javier Hernandez

Goldie Hawn: Private Benjamin (1980) - we're in the Army now Protocol (1984) - fish out of water type story Wildcats (1986) - woman coaches high school football Bird On A Wire (1990) - man on the run turns to ex-wife for help Death Becomes Her (1992) - Do you want to live forever? First Wives Club (1996) - exactly as the title implies The Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2 (2018, 2020)

Richard Maurer

Wrong and wrong, all three are great. But The Thing is more important than either of the other two.

Richard Maurer

Who's Pee Wee Herman?!? Cassie, you need to watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure - ASAP!

Johnny Salinas

Check out "Swing Shift" they started dating when they made that one. 😊

Richard Maurer

@ Mike Lemon - I'll give you Escape from LA, no defending that one. But EfNY is isn't meant to be taken too seriously. From the crazy premise to the over-the-top characters, to the hyper macho ending it's Carpenter's own of the version of the gung-ho low budget action movies that were common in the 80's, just with more style.

Bill Bowman

The rom/com and romance movies are your vein of gold. Your reaction elevates the movie you watch. Overboard is silly, ridiculous but fun. It seems more substantial with your commentary and enjoyment. I hope you set up a romance or romcom of the month,. It is fun experiencing your exploration of new genres, but you come alive with a romantic movie. Your smile, face, and body language are that of a person in their happy place.

Randolph Tirazona

Told ya it was a great show! Gotta see this with Carly: Coal Miners Daughter 1980. Mom loved this one, and so do I :)

Mike Carey

Kurt Russell suggestion: Backdraft

Richard Maurer

Rom-coms are definitely not my thing but I enjoyed Cassie's reaction anyway. Which says more about Cassie's ability as a reactor than the quality of this film.

Adam Doyle

Another Great Kurt Russel movie you should watch is Backdraft!

BlueChip300

BREAKDOWN (1997) is another great Kurt Russell movie. It is suspenseful and thrilling.

Ron Choe

Breakdown is one of my favorite suspense films, I second this recommendation

Ria Grix

YES, IT IS ABSOLUTELY ROM COM GOLD!

Christopher Carr

This one is SO much better than the recent remake that switches sees in the main roles. Women deserve all the opportunities that men do in acting, but remakes the switch sex roles just because don't usually work. Exhibit A: Ghost Busters redux.

Larry Darrell

If Gender Swapping roles is a way that Hollywood is trying give Actresses better Opportunities that they feel weren’t available to them before, then in the case of the Overboard Remake, they Messed Up. The part Goldie Hawn originally played was the Better part. The Character Arc for her was way Larger than Kurt Russell’s. There were more Opportunities to showcase an actresses range in the original. (That being said, I haven’t actually seen the Remake. Just basing this off the Original) Really looking forward to the day when Hollywood gets Creative and starts coming up with Original ideas again. So many great possible stories for Women, that haven’t been told yet. Also, so many that have been told, but Hollywood has forgotten.

Harald Mahr

For RomCom Gold with Goldie Hawn: HouseSitter (1992, with Steve Martin), love it. On a little bit darker side: Death Becomes Her (1992 with Bruce Willis). And for Kurt Russel: Escape from New York (1981), The Thing (1982), Breakdown (1997) and of course Big Trouble in Little China (1986). All fantastic movies, absolutely worth  watching.

Hondo the Cat

I mean the bigger crime with the Ghost Busters remake was that it was just painfully unfunny. But I guess part of that may have been that the only idea they had for it was "but women!" Contrast that with Ghostbusters: Afterlife where the young girl in the central role was likeable, sincere and the whole movie was respectful to the originals and tied into them. I'd watch that kid play around with the insides of a PKE meter over Melissa McCarthy yelling "ONE WONTON!" any day of the week. And then the producers of the remake start yelling "sexist" and "incel" at everybody who said their movie was crap. I'm not one to say everything is just virtue signalling but every interview and online puff piece for that remake really was just "Watch our movie. FEMALE! Inclusion" (As if no woman ever liked watching Egon or Winston!)

Hondo the Cat

Big Trouble in Little China is a flawless movie. I love it. I got a woman from Hong Kong that I was dating to watch it and asked her what she thought. She said: "They got the Chinese characters spot on. Every time the men weren't fighting they were eating!" I love that movie. Did you know that the set-up scene at the beginning with Victor Wong / Egg Shen in the lawyers office was mandated by the studio because they were worried that the audience wouldn't see Jack Burton as heroic enough. Nice to know that even back then movie executives didn't understand their product at all.

Chris Davis

I've been a Kurt Russel Fan for Decades! My favorites are (In Chronological order) The Best of Times w/Robin Williams 1986, Big Trouble in Little China w/James Hong 1986, Overboard w/Goldie Hawn 1987, Tequila Sunrise w/Mel Gibson 1988, Backdraft w/Robert De Niro 1991, Tombstone w/Val Kilmer 1993, Miracle 2004, Poseidon (Re-make of "The Poseidon Adventure from the '70's) 2006. He's done tons others, but these are my Favorites. Of my list the ones that often overlooked are Overboard and Best of Times. You've seen one, Popcorn, now see the other! You won't regret it!!!!
