HELLO!! Hi, welcome to the last week of January! So close! I hope you guys all had a great weekend. I coached 2 basketball games (we lost both) but the kids are still pumped about the treat at the end so that's all that matters ;) Taylor and Travis won though so that was fun (again, don't roll your eyes, I love LOVE) but I think it's going to be hard to tell those two teams apart in the Superbowl, so hopefully someone is on that!

We have a lot going on this week in the Kernel Club! First there is a new LA LA LOVE POLL-go vote on it! I also posted a YT MEMBERS SEQUEL POLL for movies i have watched recently that apparently have great sequels (Kill Bill Volume 2, Grumpier Old Men, 3 Men and a Little Lady and Crocodile Dundee 2) Guess which one is winning?

ALSO PATREON POP QUIZ TRIVIA NIGHT #6 is 2/1 @ 6:30MST It is going to be so so fun! And guess what?! I get to play! Our amazing @itsmedave has done the quiz so that I can participate-sheesh pressure is on! I can't wait and hope to see you all there BYOP

Had to do a little switcheroo last week and uploaded ST5 instead of Tron Legacy, so TL will be the first upload this week (TODAY-TUESDAY) Also The Lakehouse which I have since watched six YT videos explaining it me since watching it and ST6, the last one with OG cast right? I will probably take a little break in February and start watching TNG epi's in March!

Next week there will be only 2 uploads-It Happened One Night and the winner of the LA LA LOVE Poll!

We are still trying to get Spider Verse and Irobot to pass copyright for YT (#35th revision for iRobot) Don't worry I'll chat with Mr. Disney when I'm at the parks soon to see if he can release the claim ;)

Ok I will see you all Thursday! May the odds be ever in your favor!

xo Cassie

3 men and a baby is a guitly pleasure

Raj K. Dixit

Kill Bill 2 is, in my opinion, less interesting than the first one, but it's good to see how the story ends. More of a character study than an action flick.

Cole Jennett

Grumpier Old Men has 2 shots at least, but don’t think it’s going to matter.

Choof

Yep. Part 6 is the last with all the OG cast and my third favorite the entire series. The guy who directed Wrath of Khan returned to handle it. I'm so excited for you to get to a few Next Gen episodes and then the Next Gen movies, particularly part 8 which is my second favorite.

Robert Jewell

Really looking forward to It Happened One Night!

Mike LL

So I was thinking there was a chance for MY FAIR LADY next week until I read your next week spoiler info. Still, I have to be thrilled that you are watching IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT! And I am! Beyond thriled! The only thing to make it better would be to have Carly watch it with you, but I know that is a big ask. Everyone wants you to watch their favorite movie with Carly! I just love all the upcoming films, (well, I've never seen THE LAKE HOUSE) it keeps getting better and better here!

Stick Figure Studios

Can't say I'm thrilled about THE LAKE HOUSE getting a reaction. I never cared for it, but you might like it. Totally understandable why you moved TRON LEGACY to this week. I think you'll enjoy that. But the film I'm most excited about is STAR TREK VI. After the disappointing FINAL FRONTIER, this is a rousing sendoff for the original crew. I'm confident you'll love it. My guess is KILL BILL is winning the YT poll and that's probably appropriate since it really us just the second half of one movie. The other sequelscare good, but they are more standalone stories. Not necessary to watch after the first one, while KILL BILL 2 literally completes the story and is imo thd better of yhe two movies.

William Bryan

Don't even get me started on Taylor. She can't sing and was born rich already. Eminem I have mad respect for- raised in horrible conditions

Jason Fulbright

You lived in KC for a little while so you are legit Chief's Kingdom eligible.

Matt Rose

I hope you do IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT with Carly. You'd both have a blast with it.

Biggman83

Too Many good films, and I can’t vote for them all!

Cole Jennett

The Lake House is super confusing, but I’m glad you chose it, and have to imagine you both really loved it.

Patrick Egan

I’m SO pumped for your Tron: Legacy reaction!

Gábor Árki

I would be surprised if KILL BILL doesn't win the poll. Especially, because it's not even a sequel, but the second part of the story. But after I ROBOT won the last one, anything can happen. 🙄 I think it's a good call to take a break in the ST journey. Even though I do enjoy those reactions very much, having variety is more important. Cassie, do you have a plan for how many TNG episodes you will watch? The ST community on Discord might compile some suggestions based on that. I'm sad to read this trivia is going to be at 2:30am. I was hoping it might be happening in a more European friendly time. Maybe next time.

Bryan Erickson

Lake House is not a great movie(IMO). Keanu and Sandra have amazing chemistry, and they’re on screen together for about 7 minutes of the movie.

Pickupthepieces76

Recently someone mentioned a list of 8 TNG episodes that would prepare you best for the movies and give a (best of) taste of TNG. I agreed with that list and I think most TNG fans would too, give or take an episode. You don't really want to poll for these episodes, that is gonna be a mess. And the chosesn eps need to be watched in order. Even though it is still pretty episodic, there is character and general development which would make it a shame to watch out of order.

sarCC

Really excited for the Star Trek VI watch. Such a great ending adventure for the TOS crew.

James UK

Star Trek 6 is the one this week that really appeals to me. Looking forward to it. It might just be my favourite.

Anthony Perez

Can't wait to see if you watch the Star Treks with Chris Pine as Captain James Tiberius Kirk.

MertzRocks

ST6 is the last with the FULL TOS crew. You def need to watch certain TNG eps before movie #7. Others have made lists I'm sure. :D

Mark Vaderr

Hey there, Cassie. Great write-up, except for Taylor & Travis, I'm a Bills fan, so I'm sure you understand. I promised you my wish list for the 3rd Annual Poppies, and here it is. This was not easy to put together. The process of elimination was difficult. Let me remind you that this is what I am hoping to see be nominated, these are NOT predictions. I have 14 categories, all of which coincide with the Poppies from the past. I have added a new category (Best Western Reaction) since you did watch a good amount of them in 2023. Also, I am basing these picks solely on YOUR REACTION to them, not because I love the movies themselves. All categories have 6 nominations, except for Best Picture which has 10 nominations. I know you did not have a Best Picture category last time, but you just in case you choose to bring it back for this year. Without further ado, here's my Poppies Wish List! Enjoy! Best Picture Reaction: "3:10 To Yuma", "As Good As It Gets", "Cinderella Man", "Crimson Tide", "The Departed", "Galaxy Quest", "The Game", "Little Miss Sunshine", "Rain Man", "Unbreakable" Best Drama Reaction: "3:10 To Yuma", "As Good As It Gets", "Crimson Tide", "The Departed", "The Game", "Rain Man" Best Comedy Reaction: "Galaxy Quest", "Grumpy Old Men", "Kindergarten Cop", "Little Miss Sunshine", "Romancing the Stone", "Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil" Best Sisters Reaction: "Cinderella Man", "Crimson Tide", "The Departed, "The Game", "Licence To Kill", "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" Best Crime Reaction: "The Departed", "Die Hard With A Vengeance", "Lethal Weapon 3", "Minority Report", "Primal Fear", "Zodiac" Best Action Reaction: "Crimson Tide", "Die Hard With A Vengeance", "Licence To Kill", "No Time To Die", "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", "RRR" Best Sports Reaction: "42", "Cinderella Man", "Days of Thunder", "For Love of the Game", "Seabiscuit" Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Reaction: "The Abyss", "Galaxy Quest", "Minority Report", "RRR", "Star Trek The Motion Picture", "Unbreakable" Best Western Reaction: "3:10 To Yuma", "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid", "Jeremiah Johnson", "The Magnificent Seven(1960), "Open Range", "Tombstone" Best War Reaction: "13 Hours", "Behind Enemy Lines", "The Bridge on the River Kwai", "Crimson Tide", "Courage Under Fire", "Enemy at the Gates" Best Romantic Reaction: "As Good As It Gets", "Blast From the Past", "Fools Rush In", "Roman Holiday", "Romancing the Stone", "Tucker & Dale Vs. Hope you enjoyed this. I eagerly await the nominations list. Have a beautiful day! :)

Jason Murawski

Had an idea which Im sure someones probably had before, with March Madness right around the corner, how about MARCH MONSTER MADNESS where you watch some of the monster/creature features you havent gotten to see on the channel. Godzilla (2014 bc its just a better watch) King Kong (pick your poison, just not the 1976 one) and whatever else might have been suggested over the years

mikethemotormouth

Speaking of sequels, IT CHAPTER TWO?? WHEN?!

DM DC

There is one more Star Trek movie that features some of the OG cast. It's called Star Trek Generations it released in 1994. It might actually be one of my favorites of all the movies to be honest, aside from Star Trek 4 and 6. Two of my favorites that only feature the orignal cast. However having said that Star Trek 3 The Search for Spock features a performer that is undoubtedly my favorite Klingon ever.

Philip G.

Still need to watch the greatest love story of all time ...your name

MotoDork

No there’s one more. Star Trek Generations. But you should watch some episodes of The Next Generation first.

LightsCameraJake

Star Trek Nex Gen has the original cast plus the new cast. it's a send off for kirk and crew "passing of the torch" if you will. Worth watching! Then you can move on to the new timeline with Star Trek as Chris Pine as kirk.

Kristin D

Not First Contact? Generations was decent (just my opinion), but I thought First Contact was phenomenal. Agreed on the Klingon, if you mean Christopher LLoyd. In fact, I read some where that Leonard Nimoy specifically offered that role to LLoyd so that he could step out of the spacey/addict image he'd gained from being on the tv show Taxi. He's such a great actor. While a minor role, he was great in Nobody. I'd love to have Cassie watch that. It's like John wick, but with a family.

AdrianF

I'm only like a 6-8 month sub but the times are never EU friendly. It is what it is.

Robert da Spruce

You’re gonna take part in the Quiz? That’s awesome! Time to test your knowledge! 😄 I know you’re a Taylor/Travis supporter. But go 49ers!!! That’s my team!!

Phil Stubblefield

🤢 Gag! Please don't start pushing horror so soon! One month of that schlock is more than enough for me... 🤮

Phil Stubblefield

I agree that First Contact is the superior movie! I also really enjoyed Insurrection, which struck me like a fan love letter with lots of inside jokes.

Gray

Rats, I really wanted Crocodile Dundee 2. Guess it's gonna be a wait before we get it

Mario

The Superbowl is a worst case scenario for me. I don't like either team in it.

Luke Godfrey

Can’t believe Cassie hasn’t seen The Lake House. This one is right up here street. She’s going to love it.

Joe Mallard

When are the Planet of the Apes movies coming?

Richard Maurer

Dismissing an entire genre because you personally don't like it is lame. No other genre is confined to just one month, so horror shouldn't be either.

Richard Maurer

CLASSIC HORROR POLL. Tried to come up with a witty way of ask for it but I've got nothing, so,,,,,,Classic Horror poll.

Cody Nelson

I’m looking forward to all of these, of course, but I’m most excited for Star Trek six! I think you’re going to really love this one. It’s a beautiful sendoff to the original crew! I’m also really looking forward to when you eventually watch some episodes of TNG. I think you’ll really like that show and all the characters as well. Though if you’re starting with the first episode, I will warn you that the first season of that show is not very good to say the least. Hence why I suspect and hope that most of the episodes you watch are going to be from seasons 2-5. Live long and prosper!

Shawn Kildal

I didn't see any mention of the livestream this upcoming Saturday (the Poppies?). Is that still happening

DM DC

Nope. First Contact was good for sure, but not my favorite. Insurrection was also good but it didn't feel like a movie; ratherit felt more like an extended episode. The plot of that one was a bit too low key for a movie in my opinion. Generations just spoke to me more than most of the films. Same with 4 and 6. Christopher Lloyd was such a great Klingon. I really loved him in Clue, he's got such great comedic timing. Also loved him in The Adams Family and Adams Family Values. Of course Back to the Future is just iconic! He's got such range, and Kruge is still my favorite klingon. He was ruthless, cunning, and just a formidable and frightening opponent.

Joe

Cassie, why put Kill Bill 2 on a poll? Everyone just assumed you would watch it since it completes the story. Vol 1 & 2 are just one story broken up into two films.

Tim Raths

Like others have said, Kill Bill Vol 2 isn’t a sequel. It’s just the second half of a movie.

Clay F

Leonard Nimoy very much liked Star Trek (2009): The movie has "great heart with the characters." "I had a great time. I thought that J.J. and his writers had captured the essence of the fun of the Star Trek characters, the chemistry between the people, the excitement of becoming part of that crew and going out on this adventure. I thought it was a great ride as a film. I was pleased with how they treated the Spock character. I thought that they really got it. When they first called me and asked me to come to a meeting, I went to meet with J.J. and Orci and Kurtzman, and the conversation was very moving to me, because I thought these guys really understood what an audience really loves about Star Trek and what an audience loves about the Spock character.... When I read the script I called J.J. immediately and I said, 'Let’s go. Let’s go to work. I love it.' I had a great time doing it." "I finally got a real good sense of closure for myself with Star Trek, and I was very happy to see Zachary Quinto take over the character. I think he’s an excellent, well-trained actor and excellent for the job." "This movie contains a very broad spectrum of Spock’s character. I had a wonderful time making the movie. It was very close to myself. I felt totally comfortable, very much like I feel personally. Having arrived where I am as a person, and the place that Spock has arrived, I felt very, very comfortable with it. It was totally like slipping into a warm bath or an old, comfortable sweatsuit." ------------- Star Trek (2009). RT 94% (Audience score 91%). "Star Trek (2009) reignites a classic franchise with action, humor, a strong story, and brilliant visuals, and will please traditional Trekkies and new fans alike." The Chris Pine Star Trek trilogy is well done, slick and entertaining, and does an excellent job with the characters. Canon with alternate timeline and honors the Star Trek franchise.

Timothy Williams

PLEASE WATCH THE CREDITS WHEN YOU WATCH Star Trek VI. The sign-off by the original crew with signatures is moving.

Shane Myers myers

Star Trek 6 is the last with the Original Series Cast all together. It actually one of the better movies. All of the even numbered movies were the best in my opinion. I started watching reruns of Star Trek back in the early 1970s at my Babysitter's house. 😊🖖✌️

My_Cousin_Mose

I managed to read the la la love post just fine but my eyes rolled back so far on this one I got a headache. Sucks to hear you guys lost the games but good that the kids spirits are high. It's just little league right? Looking forward to trivia night. I'm out of work the next few weeks so I'll actually be able to play. Would rather not be out of work but I'll take the good with the bad.

Clay F

For the YT MEMBERS SEQUEL POLL, I would have to go with Kill Bill Vol 2 because less violent and more character development than Kill Bill Vol 1. I notice that Crocodile Dundee 2 earned a 9% rating on RT (don't often see a single digit rating).

David Woodbridge

At one point last year, you mentioned watching "Lincoln" on Abraham Lincoln's birthday (February 12). I hope that is still happening.

Hail to the King

You should probably acknowledge Cassie doesn't actually like horror movies also. Honestly I would would advise her to not watch any more, it's not healthy to be made that tense by watching films

Mike Lemon

Nobody cares about Rotten Tomatoes critics' scores. Critics's scores have been a joke since before Siskel and Ebert. Add in a corrupt website who has been caught manipulating scores and it is a recipe for "so what?".

Joe

No kidding Sherlock! BTW, I didn't ask you.

Clay F

Crocodile Dundee II. Metacritic = 41%. IMDb = 5.7. I care about RT critics' scores. Just one piece of info. "Retelling its predecessor's same joke with diminishing returns, Crocodile Dundee II sees the franchise's enjoyability go down under." The RT audience score is 38%.

Björn Karlsson

If you love LOVE, well then I know a perfect movie. Agnes here to the left agrees, but she is a little bit shy 😆

Joe

Silly that KB2 would even be on a sequel poll, it's just the rest of the movie (haha).

Richard Maurer

Maybe she needed a good excuse to watch it now? As she said, not really a surprise it's winning that poll. And the fact that vol. 1 is at 195K on YT is probably a good reason to do vol 2 also.

Clay F

LINCOLN (2012) [nominated for Best Picture Oscar] is stunningly good. Daniel Day-Lewis transformed himself into Lincoln. Daniel Day-Lewis winning Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Lincoln well deserved. Tommy Lee Jones and Sally Fields nominated for respective Oscars.

Shawn Kildal

I could have sworn Jonjohns s wrote during a YouTube premiere that it was 2/3. Maybe I miss read it or he meant to write 3/2.

Richard Maurer

"Not healthy to be made that tense by watching films" - Really? Do you have a peer reviewed study to back that claim up? And just to remind everyone, Cassie chose to watch It Chapter 1 of her own volition, no one here had to vote for it. So apparently she forced herself to watch a movie she doesn't like and knew it would make her "unhealthily tense".

Brian McGovern

Star Trek 6 directed by the same person who breathed life into the movies by directi g Star Trek 2 as well. I love the opening score for 6 as well and the title sequence how the colours of the credits keep transitioning.

Scott Macaulay

Back to form for Trek, then no more good movies. Great shows though. TNG might be my favorite

Dan M

Very much like the OG’s during the end credits for Avengers: Endgame. Good call!

PickettsChargingPort

I don't usually do love movies but I really enjoyed the lake house

Darreld Studie

Oooohh! Love the Lakehouse. Love Sandra Bullock. Love Keeanu Reeves.

David Woodbridge

I couldn't agree more, Clay! It's one of my all-time favorite movies. As you said, Daniel Day-Lewis transforms into Lincoln, somehow conveying Lincoln's humanity and greatness.

Mark Vaderr

Not entirely true, Cassie did like "Christine", "Misery" and she was into "The Lost Boys" and "Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil". I think she should see more old school horrors, like the Universal Monsters and the Val Lewton films.

Dan M

I have an easy way for you to tell the 2 Super Bowl teams apart, Cassie. Which ever team is winning, that will be the Chiefs. 😉 I’ve haven’t seen The Lakehouse, so looking forward to enjoying that with you and Carly. Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves reunited! I guess relationships based on intense experiences DO work.

Clay F

At least Planet of the Apes (1968). Also, the newer trilogy is good.

Joe Mallard

Nice. I like the OG, but the Andy Serkis trilogy is on another level.

Larry Darrell

What if the Lake House had been built on Crystal Lake? or maybe if Sandra Bullock's character had been named Jessica. I once knew a Jessica who was mortally scared on a lake, back in the early 70s. That's all I got. ;-)

Mario

Cassie literally mentions the Superbowl in her post.

Robert da Spruce

Does anyone know from what movie to what movie this Pop Quiz covers?

Hail to the King

Last time you were saying Star Trek 2009 must be good because Leonard Nimoy liked it, now you're saying CDII must be bad because the critics say so. Do you not like any films that critics don't?

SeanATX

Wish I was going to Disney World soon!

Hail to the King

John Liebling

1991 ST 6 Shatner and Nimoy are 61 years old at the time. Shatner is still alive. In two months, he'll be 93. Amazing someone of his girth could still going strong and have so much energy at that age.

Marja

Ok, I just joined Patreon and love trivia! How does it work here? Do you play in a team or singularly? Is it an app on the phone…details, please!!!

Marja

It’s too old, most likely. Which personally hurts, but I’m old. Whaddayagonnado?!?!

John Liebling

Shatner was in the movie Judgement At Nuremberg in 1961 he was also in two twilight zones, which are viewed as classically good episodes. He was in an Outer Limits in the early 60s and a Man From UNCLE which happened to include a young Lenard Nimoy at the time. About two years later they'd be in Star Trek together.

Marja

Val Lewton films would be amazing! I’ve recently (a year ago) discovered a podcast that dramatizes his life with a vast amount of movie information and process. I’ve heard movie rights have been sold. The Invisible Man with Claude Rains really holds up! And it’s super short, like the other Universal Monster movies, so she could do a few in a row. Just sayin’…

Marja

A whole month devoted to 30s romcoms and screwballs would be a dream come true. I watch another channel that focuses on classics, but her output is so tiny compared to PiB. I need more folks to discover and enjoy our film roots. I’m even smitten by the idea of doing a series of remakes, starting with the original, i.e., Shop Around the Corner = The Good Old Summertime = You’ve Got Mail or Love Affair = An Affair to Remember = Love Affair!

John Liebling

TNG started in 87 and ended in 94...you have a long list of possible Borg episodes, given to you many weeks ago. You'll need that to give you enough background for future films. But if you really want an in-depth look at the Borg's interaction with other Trek crew personal, you'll need to look into another Star Trek series starting as TNG ended. Voyager. The character 7 of 9 took star trek in an exciting direction as it relates to Borg stories. Thank you, Cassie, for officially joining the Trekkie club.

Cole Jennett

She will provide a link to a trivia host site on the day of. It will pertain to all movies she’s reacted to that hit YouTube since the last trivia night. So should cover from Red Dawn through Jingle All the Way.

John Liebling

You think Cassie and Carly would enjoy another Debbie Reynolds film Tammy and the Bachelor?

Cole Jennett

I couldn’t tell you what you saw, but my understanding is it had initially been planned for late February, and during the Butter tier Hang, I think, she was thinking March 2nd.

John Liebling

Cassie did you or Carly ever watch the 1973 Charlotte's Web cartoon? With Wilbur the Pig? The voice of the spider was Debbie Rynolds.

Planner

I misread this as asking what movie the cover in the post was from and spent about an hour looking for it 😂 So, to answer the question you didn't ask, it's from The Perfect Storm reaction, 00:49:49 in.

Mike

Of the sequels mentioned in the YT poll, yes Kill Bill Vol 2 is necessary (BUT) the Crocodile Dundee 2 is just great, a real sequel and very enjoyable—I'm certain you and Carly will love it just as much as the audience!

Gábor Árki

I've been around for more than 2 years. I recall that some YT premiers used to accommodate EU time zones back then, but now they are mostly between 1-3 am. Sadly, the trivia nights have always been scheduled around 2-3 am so far. I managed to attend one despite that, but it was challenging. But at least Cassie learned how to pronounce my name there.

Clay F

I do like films that critics don't like. I don't always agree with the critics. There are movies that I watched (including up to decades ago) that struck a positive chord with me, and have a RT critic rating, for example, of about 50% meaning half the critics recommend the movie. Also, I don't always like movies that critics like. When I am choosing from thousands of movies to watch and trying decide what movies to dedicate my limited free time, I look at critic ratings (including reviews by particular critics I have generally agreed with in the past). I typically avoid movies that have universally bad critic ratings across the board, such as a 9% at RT. I also ask people I know well (family/friends) their opinion. Further, I look at audience scores. I will do a double take on a low critic score when the audience rating is high. On the other hand, if there is a high critic score but low audience score, I will question the movie and try to understand why. I don't always go with the audience majority, and have tended to like movies with high critic score/low audience score more than low critic score/high audience score -- but not always. Sometimes a low audience score is telling in that while critics like the movie, the movie may be too esoteric for me. Of course, it helps when both the critic score and the audience score are high, such as with Star Trek (2009) [RT critics = 94%, RT audience score = 91%]. I watched that movie and loved it.

Happy Hanukkah

And then you have Destination Wedding (2018), which is practically nothing but Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder together. But...

Happy Hanukkah

Poll inspired by the upcoming movie :-) : The House by the Lake (Death Weekend) (1976) The House by the Edge of the Lake (Sensività) (1979) * House by the Lake (2017) House on Elm Lake (2017) (* This would serve as consolation for Moonstruck not being chosen. :-) )

Happy Hanukkah

"I coached 2 basketball games (we lost both)" Boo! You suck, Coach! "but the kids are still pumped about the treat at the end" Yay! You go, Coach! :-) "The Lakehouse which I have since watched six YT videos explaining it me" Let me try to explain: it is called a lake-house solely because it is a house built *next* to a lake. Other than that, *it is a completely ordinary house*. Despite what the name "lake-house" might lead you to believe, *the house itself is not a lake* in any way, shape, or form. There. I hope I have managed to remove any confusion you might have had. :-P "I'll chat with Mr. Disney when I'm at the parks" I dunno if that will help; I hear the man is pretty cold*. "May the odds be ever in your favor!" I sure hope so, 'cuz the evens are real SOBs. Life may be but a dream, but this movie is all too real, to the loud discontent of many. :-) (* Urban legend.)

Richard Maurer

Winston - you don't get chronic stress from watching a 2 hour horror movie. Please stop this nonsense.

John Liebling

It would be good if Cassie watched two Lincoln movies. First the Raymond Massey Abe Lincoln in Illinois before the Lincoln with Daniel Day Lewis.

John Liebling

Same guy who directed "Time After Time" And that movie has actors in Star Trek 6 and the first TNG film...what Cassie would consider as Star Trek film #7.

John Liebling

It's a very Cassie and Carly selection. Surprised they haven't seen it yet.

RJ MacReady

Voyager may be too much, I think the select few TNG episodes so she is familiar with the crew and the plot up until Generation and First Contact at least.

RJ MacReady

In fact that was a direct reference and homage to Star Trek VI at the end of Endgame.

Brian McGovern

Critics look at a film from all aspects. Writing, acting, prod design etc. Audiences don't really give a hoot about all that. Critics, as a rule, don't really like sequels in the first place, so they are already predisposed to panning sequels. I for one am surprised that Crocodile Dundee 2 has quite a bit of love from members here already. Some saying it is BETTER than the original. I am certainly not in that camp. I was not a fan of 2. I feel it lost a bit of its charm dealing with a heavier storyline. I do not think I have seen it since it first came out. I watched a bit the other day, but I do not remember most of it. I will watch along if it comes up, but for this poll, I am backing Vol2 as it makes the most sense to watch that and conclude The Bride's story while it is still fresh in Cassie's mind.

John Liebling

I agree with not delaying the TNG films by watching too many Voyager episodes first. But after she watches First Contact, she might want to delve into Voyager. Or not. Cassie is very busy. She's created an excellent reaction site. Many movies that cover a wide range. Many PIB Patreon hope she will watch more musicals after getting a taste of Singing In The Rain and react to many classic 1930s, and 1940s rom-coms.

John Liebling

You think Cassie would enjoy Robin Williams in Patch Adams?

Oscar Lopez

What day will TRON Legacy come out?

Shane Myers myers

Dude, did you happen to catch last film with "ALL" the original cast together???? I know that Star Trek 7 Generations has three of the original cast in it. I have been watching Star Trek for 50 plus years.

Carol Rocha

Can’t wait for The LakeHouse.

StaticBlaster

When I first started working at a movie theater, ‘The Lake House’ was just hitting the screens.

Björn Karlsson

Yeah 😔 As you said: It is what it is. We just have to deal with it. I mean, a huge majority of her fans is from that side of the pond 🙂

John Courtright

Me too! It's one of my favorites! About 16 months ago (Nov 6, 2022), I sent a DM to Cassie suggesting that she and Carly watch The Lake House. She replied 2 days later with , "I'll look it up, thanks!!" Better late than never! LOL

John Liebling

Based on Cassie's track record, even if a film isn't that great, she'll continue and complete all of them. We all know the cross over #7 is average, and #8 First Contact is one of the better TNG films, and #9 is once again average, and #10 we get a debate which is worse, that one or ST5? After those films I am sure Cassie will eventually tackle the Kelvin Timeline with Chris Pine...I would suggest before she reacts to that she goes back to the original Shatner and Nimoy lead TV and watch the full Menagerie, parts I and II. That way she has a sense of who Captain Pike is.

Dan M

Rest in peace Apollo Creed

Anthony Férnandez

You will love Generations. It has some of the most epic scenes in the saga and some of the best dialogues. The score by Dennis McCarthy is absolutely epic as well.
