Well we had a Classic Romance Poll and now for some more LOVE for February (don't you roll your eyes;) These are romance/romcoms I have not seen yet and I can't wait to see what wins!

I will be watching The Lakehouse already (PPOTM) and Tin Cup very soon so that's why they are not on the poll!

Update post incoming....

Comments

Chris

It's too bad I can only vote once! No matter which one wins, you have got to do grumpier old men!

Dave Sees Movies

I was going to ask how four weddings and a funeral had so few votes, but then I saw there were only 24 votes thus far. Best opening of any romcom ever!

Danny (Icarus)

I really liked An Officer and a Gentleman. Richard Gere, Louis Gossett and Debra winger, very good cast. 👍

Katie Lawson

Forever Young is not a romcom. 😭😭😭

Roger Hagerty

“Don’t you roll your eyes”! I had no idea you could see me!!!!

Cole Jennett

Choose One????😂

Ronald Carpenter

Yay for Doc Hollywood, Michael in his fresh young days on the silver screen. Touching, fun, all cast accomplished actors.

LightsCameraJake

This time of the year is the loneliest time for me and Rom Coms and romance movies in general just make me feel sad and left out. I wish I didn't feel this way because these are truely great movies and you'll love any one of these that win. So good luck to the winner, but no good luck for me heh 😅😖

Alex Gorell

Really can’t go wrong with any of these. But my vote is for an Officer and a Gentleman.

Chris Davis

Yay!! Tin Cup Coming Soon! One of my absolute favorites!!

Steve Slayman

Grumpier old men definitely. Moonstruck and forever young are also definitely. All three you and Carly would love love! Grumpier old men, cause A. It’s great. And B. You guys need to finish it. Moonstruck well there is something special about Cher and Nicolas Cage. Forever Young you and Carly would love what Mel Gibson does for love. Plus it’s Mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis and a Young Elijah Woods

Bill Maurer

Skipping this poll. Enjoy!!!

Kent

Gross Pointe Blank is in my top 10 favorite movies, so I obviously have to vote for it. But Grumpier Old Men and Silver Linings Playbook are both great as well. All of these are fantastic choices really.

Jay

Moonstruck! So good

Nick Thousan

Doc Hollywood is totally underrated

Blake Evans

Grumpier old men is the best Com on this list and Forever Young it’s the Rom and best overall. I distinctly remember watching it on VHS back in the day.

Mike LL

Voting for GROSSE POINTE BLANK, as that is one of my five films I would submit to Cassie if I ever won the trivia contest! Too bad MOONSTRUCK is in with such heavy hitters as Cassie would love, love, love that movie. Much to swoon over. Of course AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN is right up Cassie's alley and is a heavy hitter in the love category. Might have to get that one out of the way at this time. Mark it down and watch it.

Paul Murphy

Shakespeare In Love is sadly not getting much love from this crowd. It's criminally underrated and yet it won seven Oscars and beat out Saving Private Ryan for Movie of the Year!

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Cassie you would love Silver Linings Playbook, it was so romantic Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper were so good together. However I have to go with an Officer and Gentleman because the ending was such a classic. I love Romcom's I have been craving movies like this after Star Trek 😴. Seriously though I think you should choose that for your pick of the month.

Raj K. Dixit

You will enjoy Tin Cup; hope Carly watches that one with you as she'll enjoy it too!

Bill Hayden

You should try to watch Tin Cup with Carly, since it's about golf.

Anjolie Lanel

I’m actually surprised that Cassie hasn’t seen Shakespeare In Love. It’s one of my favorite movies. Everyone in it is absolutely brilliant. Wonderfully written and directed. It’s about love and romance and this movie won several Oscars as well. Although it’s lagging in the polls, I hope it manages to eek out a strong finish

Jeff Vargas

I like Grosse Point Blank, but I wouldn't category it as a rom com

Cliff Endicott

"An Officer and a Gentleman" is one of the greatest movies of the 1980s. Really hope it wins. "Grosse Point Blanke" is a terrific popcorn flick, but more of an absurdist black comedy than a "love" movie.

Marcus Merrell

Umbrellas of Cherbourg should be on here--it was (a lot of) the inspiration for La La Land!

brooke atkins

It’s not going to win but Cassie you would love forever young with Mel Gibson. Please consider watching it sometime.

Cole Jennett

What a great time for movies the 90’s were! Having said that, my vote went to Silver Linings Playbook.

dlb737

Never considered Officer and Gentleman a romcom. Not sure why it's on the list.

Michael McErlain

I’m surprised that Doc Hollywood isn’t doing better. Cassie would enjoy that one

Kristin D

Someone said that Grosse Pointe Blank is like the black comedy of John Wick. It's one of my favorite movies. I absolutely love GPB, and I'd love to see Cassie react to it.

Kristin D

I completely agree. It is not a rom com, and I wouldn't even classify it as a romance. It has romance in it, but it's not like Pretty Woman, which it's often compared to because of Gere. I don't think she will like it, honestly.

Cole Jennett

It’s likely losing votes because a lot of people held its Oscar win against Harvey Weinstein. I think it was a deserving winner, but Saving Private Ryan was incredible too. Such different movies though, so a lot of polarization over it not winning

Rod Reavern

Brooklyn (2015) is my favourite romantic film of the last 10 years. I hope it makes it on a Patreon poll someday.

James UK

So many on this list that you’d love. I remain amazed that you’ve never seen Four Weddings and a Funeral. It ticks so many boxes for you.

Randolph Tirazona

Lake House is Good! Doc Hollywood is Good too!!!

pinkdino99

OMG I bloody love you guys ! Grosse Point Blank is sooo funny and underrated, and Minnie Driver is absolutely brilliant.

Katie Jackson

Sad to see Nine Months and America's Sweethearts didn't make the poll. Some good choices though. I ended up voting for Forever Young

Cole Jennett

Nine Months! I’ve forgotten about that one. Have to add it to my request list.

Tyler Foster

I need Moonstruck with Cassie and Carly. I'm all for GPB as well, especially as that is a movie that seems overlooked by the reaction community. But argh!

Mike Lemon

How many times is Shakespeare in Love going to be on a poll? You have said many times you want to watch it, just watch it. You don't need our permission. That said, you can't really go wrong with any of those.

Katie Jackson

Yeah, I've been hoping for that one for a while. With Julianne Moore, Hugh Grant, Jeff Goldblum, Joan Cusack & Robin Williams in the cast you really can't go wrong

David Blount

Officer and a Gentleman! The last 20 minutes will wreck her.

Cole Jennett

The Poll says it’s Romance/Rom Com, and it’s definitely got Romance. Having said that, I don’t want it to win

D. T. Nelson

Wouldn’t be disappointed with any of these, though there are a couple of them that are not romcom, Tthey have romantic elements and are good movies, but they aren’t movies you think of when you imagine romance or Valentines Day.

Brian Wood

Gone with the wind, please

Alex Laime

Only one vote not enough! I went with Silver Linings Playbook, but I'd like to see Grosse Point Blank and Doc Hollywood. IMO Silver Linings is so good.

Michael G

In honour of Canadian, Norman Jewison recently passing. The vote has to be for Moonstruck.

Kevin Kuma

"The Lake House" has a soft like flow with enough warmth to be February fit. Although at times it feels like a fire that just wont stay lit, anything with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock is a film library must. As for "Tin Cup", there are few flicks that make watching movies easier than this one. Funny, exiting, romantic, Kevin Costner...a true classic in every sense.

James

Forever Young is outstanding. Such an underrated movie. Obviously not many people have seen it or it would be ranked higher.

Walter

Tin Cup! Woot! That's on my Popcorn In Bed wishlist. Very happy. As for this list - strong list...I was all in on Moonstruck but then I saw Grosse Point Blank. But seriously, the PIB team needs to watch many of the films on this list.

Patrick Fitzgerald

Grumpier Old Men! The C & C movie watching machine has to see it!

ContrabandDonut

Four Weddings and a Funeral is fun. I find it highly unlikely it will win, but its fun.

Doc Larry

Forever young is an outstanding movie underrated, Mel Gibson gives a wonderful performance, so does Jamie Lee Curtis. It’s probably a generational thing that it’s not doing so well.

Luke Godfrey

I hope Grosse Point Blank wins. Second time it’s been in a poll so I think Cassie wants to watch it.

Above Average Dave

Wow - Moonstruck - a movie about true love is loosing to...Grosse Point Blank - a fun movie but, uh, OK...

Gary Birch

You will LOVE Forever Young! A young Mel Gibson being a heart throb will make you have to fan yourself! : ) And yes, Carly should join you for this!

Björn Karlsson

I know a swedish movie about love 🫣

Raymond Terry

In for Grosse Point Blank!

Ria Grix

Four Weddings guys!!!! COME ON GUYS this is brilliant and funny, peak Richard Curtis and Hugh Grant. Remember how much she loved About Time.

Cassie Tremblay

Nine Months sounds so good! I just looked it up and realized I have seen Americas Sweethearts, i think when it came out so a long time ago!

Bruce C Snell

This is impossible -- I found four I want to win. This needs to be a "Rank 'em" not a poll. With choices like Shakespeare in Love, Four Weddings, Doc Hollywood, and Grosse Point Blank, whichever one wins it'll be great and for the losers, this is a tragedy.

Ria Grix

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love Officer and Silver Linings movies.

Katie Jackson

Nine Months is really good. The cast is staked and it has everything you love in a rom com. The comedy side is great to. I laughed so hard at the end the first time I saw it I was crying. Plus very tender moments. I look forward to you eventually getting to it.

Javier Hernandez

Maybe honor fellow Canadian Michael J Fox with a poll? Light of Day (1987) Secret of My Success (1987) Bright Lights Big City (1988) Casualties of War (1989) Doc Hollywood (1991) The Hard Way (1991) For Love of Money (1993) Life With Mikey (1993)

Cole Jennett

You may have to be strategic. There’s always a chance she watches the top 2!

Marja

The first dvd I bought was Moonstruck. ‘Nuff said!

zynjams

officer and a gentleman and Silver linings playbook are the best on this list.

Matt Rose

MOONSTRUCK all the way.

nick bell

Moonstruck please

Scott Cressotti

Serendipity is also a good one

Dan M

Nine Months is such a great movie! One of my favorite Hugh Grant movies ( along with Love Actually and Music & Lyrics). The scene where Van Morrison’s song “These Are The Days” makes me tear up every time.

Eli van Aggelen

I would only consider one, maybe two, of these movies a romcom. There are some really good 90s/00s actual romcoms that, at least according to the request/ranking site, Cassie hasn't seen yet... Feels like a real shame they aren't on here.

Dan M

Wow! This is tough! A lot of good movies in this list. Its a toss up between An Officer And A Gentleman or Forever Young for me.

Eli van Aggelen

I agree, but unfortunately a significant portion of her patrons are men who look down on romcoms and prefer voting for anything else.

Don

COME ON GROSSE POINT BLANK! One of my all time favorites

Judy M. Goodman

Even if Grumpier Old Men doesn't come in second, you should schedule it sometime -- or just watch it. You SOOO enjoyed Grumpy Old Men, you really shouldn't miss it! I started to salivate at Shakespeare in Love and continued throughout the list. Now that it's time to choose, I'm totally dry (as usual). Never saw the Silver Linings Playbook. Since the century turned, I've been going out to movies less and less. But most of the rest are all classics, to my way of thinking! If I needed to choose one, I would be stuck between Shakespeare in Love (Judy Dench won best supp. Oscar for this), Moonstruck (Olympia Dukakis won best supp. Oscar for THIS), and 4 Weddings & a Funeral is VERY funny and full of suprises (Oscar nominations for best picture and best original screenplay). I wish you luck with the winner, though I suspect you'll enjoy whatever wins!

Kuskesh Haramzadeh

Gross Point Blank definitely has the best soundtrack

Cole Jennett

Just because you mentioned Oscar’s, Silver Linings Playbook won Best Actress for Jennifer Lawrence, and had nominations for all 4 acting categories.

Dan M

Mel Gibson in this movie probable gives Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall a run for his money.

sarCC

Yay! It's finally time for Grosse Pointe Blank to shine. Minnie Driver is so great in this, one of my favorite modern romance leads. So excited for everyone to watch it.

Odd Thomas

Grosse Point Blank obvs

Biggman83

I went Forever Young as that’s been requested a lot in the past, but equally Shakespeare in Love or Four Weddings (even though it’s showing its age a little these days)

Jay Davis

Glad to see Grosse Pointe doing well. Hope it wins. Got my vote.

Walter

man, this is really a great list...

Keyuana Gray

Silver linings playback is so underrated

ContrabandDonut

Anyone know off the top of their head, is Rowan Atkinson in 4 Weddings.....pre-Mr. Bean or post-Mr. Bean? Also 4 Weddings is streaming commerical free on a Tubi. Google it, I don't want to post a link for fear of pissing off Cassie.

Ronny Boss

I think you ladies might enjoy Knight and Day. It's a romantic comedy starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz

Judy M. Goodman

Cool! I'll have to see it sometime. I have a very long list now thanks to streaming!

Mike H

My sister would kill me if I didn't throw my vote to Debra Winger, since my fave -GPB- is already leading!

Mike H

Dan and John couldn't be more in love, that's what makes it a rom-com 😂

Mike H

I was in HS, but genuinely can't recall this one at all. Even after looking it up on imdb

baz0348

Forever young Mel Gibson is amazing grumpier old men is a definite as you already did the first one the sequel is probably better than the first

James UK

One Fine Day is another that gets overlooked. I quite enjoy that one.

Mike H

Replace KC with Renee Russo and I'll agree 💯 😍

Mike H

Brooklyn was way better than I expected. Put it on one night for background noise while I was staining a project and the project still isn't stained 3years later!

jdj830

I can’t believe the lack of love for MOONSTRUCK. Great film that you will love. The others are fine but this is required viewing.

Art of Free Speech

Officer and a Gentleman quite literally was the driving force behind me choosing a career in military aviation. I've been so excited for her to watch it, but as I've joked before, it's in my top 10 films of all time, thus restricted from ever winning a poll.

Tara

Young Richard Gere in An Officer and a Gentleman!! Honestly Cassie, you should watch all the these movies!!

Kristin D

It's a great movie and severely lacking in awesome reactions.

James Young

Need to add "Serendipity" and "Can't buy me love" to your future love list. GPB for me

Cole Jennett

She’s seen Serendipity many times before the channel, and she has a reaction to Can’t Buy Me Love.😊

Tara

I want to see Cassie’s reaction to young Richard Gere. She only knows him as a “silver fox” from Pretty Woman. Cassie, why not just watch all of these for February? You could do a few each week throughout the month

Mike LL

I like that you like Grosse Pointe Blank, and I'm pretty sure you mean the pop songs that were selected to be in the movie and not the actual music score written for the movie, so I forgive you! 😂

Mike LL

So, a missed opportunity for WORKING GIRL, with Cassie's favorite, Harrison Ford, to be in the poll!

Dan M

Have either of you seen He Said, She Said with Kevin Bacon? Similar themes as Nine Months, and a good mix of laughs and tender moments. I think Kevin Bacon gets overlooked for his acting range.

Long-time Sci-Fi Enthusiast

Hi Cassie, Please consider the 1941 Comedy/Romance film (Ball Of Fire) starring Gary Cooper & Barbara Stanwyck, for future polls.. Also known as a screwball comedy, a genre of films from the `30`s & `40`s that I think you would enjoy. Another is the 1936 Comedy/Romance film (My Man Godfrey) starring Carole Lombard & William Powell.

Justtired

Can we have an “all of the above” option? I’d love to see a reaction to over half this list. 😂🤣

Chris H

Grosse Point is a great movie, but Forever Young is such a 1990s classic, cheesy and earnest love story.

Richard Maurer

Voted Grosse Point Blank - it's the only film on this list that I actually like, but to be honest I've only watched 3 of the films on this list. Doc Hollywood's not bad but it's clearly not going to win.

Yaisu

Cassie probably would've enjoyed all of these

sarCC

They said soundtrack and when you buy the soundtrack, it has all the songs on it, not the score. The score is usually on a different album. (Though the one song Joe Strummer wrote for the score of the film is included on the soundtrack...and it's a good track!)

sarCC

It was a highly successful movie that got 8 Oscar nominations and won several critics awards. Pretty highly-rated.

zynjams

I was in the Army when Officer came out. I GOT NO WHERE ELSE TO GO

Kuskesh Haramzadeh

The CD says soundtrack on the cover. It has the songs, mostly punk rock and ska and new wave and however you may describe Madness and The Specials. I'm guessing they are labeled as 2nd wave Ska. Or British punk/ska

Clear Light

Siver Linings. It's a modern day classic. Laughter, tears, surprises... and LOVE.

zynjams

and yes, my top 10 will lose every poll also, luckily I watch other reactors that dont have these same voters

David Collins

This is a great list, so things could be a lot worse, but if "Benny and Joon" can't even get on a "romcom(ish) movies Cassie hasn't seen" poll, many of which aren't really romcoms, I don't know what to say. Grosse Point Blank is easily my favorite on this poll. It's excellent. I refuse to vote for it in a "love" poll. Far and away the least romantic movie on the poll lol.

Joshua s. Jackson

Please put " Untamed Hearts" in your next love pole, it stars Marisa Tomie and Christian Slater.

Georges Jarjour

Yeah working girl was a great movie. No one asks for Lady Hawk. How I would love for you and your sister would react to that movie! Does anyone else like this movie?

Roger Banks

I’m not sure “Grosse Point Blank” belongs in this list but since it is I voted for it.

Shawn Kildal

Soon as I saw Grosse Point Blank was on the poll, knew it was going to win. Much like Red Dawn.

Tina P

Really great list. Lots of good movies, especially Silver Linings, Forever Young, An Officer and a Gentleman and Doc Hollywood.

Katie Jackson

No I haven't seen it but I'll add it to my list of movies to check out. Thanks

leo tierney

gross point blank, what?? your fans are spoofing u. if you want a john cusac movie - light hearted rom com - say anything [of course widely quoted], Americas sweet hearts [Julia Roberts, catheran zeta, need i say more?].

Steve Miller

A poll in which I don't care which one wins because I would be glad to watch any of these with both of you.

Steve Mercier

Silver Linings Playbook, Moonstruck, and Grosse Pointe Blank are all spectacular...but I think have to go for Silver Linings Playbook just because I think it will produce the best reaction.

Jacob King

Grosse Point Blank is one of the few modern romcoms I’d pick over Silver Linings Playbook. I would have really struggled if the choice had been between GPB and the last 15 minutes of Silver Linings.

Björn Karlsson

Nah.. not that one 😄 I want Cassie to do a reaction of Fcuking Åmål aka Show me love from 1998 🥰🥰

Ramah Mustangs

Grosse Point Blank is a great movie I discovered while I was in the Marine Corps. It is a lot of fun that gives you your romcom moments as well as humor and action you’ve been introduced to since you started your show.

Orcagirl78

Oh yes!! Working Girl! Harrison is so good in that! So charming and funny. Man, what a witch Sigourney Weaver is in this movie. I always make time for this one!! Ladyhawke is such an underrated gem of a film!! Cassie & Carly would LOVE it!!

Clay F

The last 15 minutes of Silver Linings Playbook is some of the best 15 minutes in movie history.

Clay F

I voted Silver Linings Playbook (Jennifer Lawrence WON Oscar for Best Actress in Leading Role). Such a heartfelt movie. Stunningly good movie. Great story. Incredibly well acted. I am surprised that Cassie hasn't seen Silver Linings Playbook. An evolving love story between two people on the spectrum that captures you as a viewer. Silver Linings Playbook nominated for 8 Oscars including: -Best Picture -Bradley Cooper (wow) -Robert De Niro (De Niro transformed himself), and -Jacki Weaver (I have to mention her because she is so damn good acting in this movie). Honorable mention goes to An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) because a classic. I like Grosse Point Blank (1997) but ...

Dan M

I added it to the PIB suggestion page. Cassie hasn’t seen it either. Hoping it gets enough votes to get it into the top 100 🤞

Dan M

Whoops! My bad! I wrote the wrong movie title. Its called She’s Having a Baby. Still starring Kevin Bacon. However, He Said, She Said is still a good movie…starring Kevin Bacon 😁

Cole Jennett

She’s seen them both, including a reaction to Say Anything on the channel already

Tara

@James at the top of her home page, she has some links and one is for the movies she has already seen and whether it’s on the channel. There is also the list of most requested movies that you can vote for to move it up the list. That is what she used for the recent 51 to 100 ranked poll

Clay F

An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) is a classic. I am a Debra Winger fan. My duaghter likes that movie.

Dan M

Hi Cassie. I’d like to suggest another movie for future Love polls. Or perhaps a Popcorn Pick of the Month. Its called She’s Having a Baby, starring Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth Perkins. Very similar themes as Nine Months. Definitely has a Cassie and Carly vibe, with a good mix of laughs and tender moments.

Silver Machine

“High Fidelity” - it still has Catherine Zeta-Jones, but with better music!

Silver Machine

Moonstruck is in a class of its own. It’s got my vote!

Mike LL

Yeah, I really really hate how the word soundtrack has been abused in the last few decades. All my great soundtrack albums from the 60's and 70's like John Barry's Goldfinger, Jerry Goldsmith's Planet of the Apes, and Ennio Moriconne's The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly all contain what you all call the music score, but they are all labeled the original soundtrack. So yes, I never consider the pop songs that are chosen to be in a picture to be the soundtrack, they are just what they are, music songs chosen to be in the picture. When I want to listen to songs, I always listen to the radio, not go see a movie. I realize I sound awfully pendantic, and thanks for the rant.

Robert Haynes

TNG episodes in March!? That's awesome! TNG has always been the quintessential Star Trek for me, so I am excited.

S Elphick

Silver lining playbook is a good watch

mattosh79

Finally Grosse Point Blank is here. I quite enjoyed Must Love Dogs with Cusack and Diane Lane too. Hopefully for the near future.

Joe

🙄🙄🙄...😉

Paul Browne

Looks like GPB will win handily, and while I love that movie, An Officer and a Gentleman blows all of these out of the water romance-wise. Hopefully you two will get to it at some point.... And I can't wait for it. Nice list for February, some fantastic movies on there.

PickettsChargingPort

Not sure Grosse Point Blank belongs here, but I love that movie

Darreld Studie

Personally, while I normally like John Cusack movies, Gross Point Blank left me disappointed. It was rather boring and the humor was too subtle and dark for me. Doc Hollywood is a great romance movie with Michael J. Fox as is Moonstruck with Cher, but I think, Grumpier Old Men is my pick as it is three romances in one, plus you get Ann Margaret, Sophia Loren, Daryl Hannah, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and Kevin Pollack all together. A star studded event. For the serious dramatic minded, An Officer and a Gentleman is a great pick also. Has Richard Gere ever made a bad movie?

D.M. Lipkin

Cassie is gonna have to spend a Popcorn Pick of the Week on Shakespeare in Love. She's been wanting to watch for years, but it keeps getting beaten.

StaticBlaster

The Lakehouse is a pretty good movie. You'll have a great time watching that one.

Constantine

Four weddings and a funeral is good. Let's just say I identify with Hugh Grant's character a little too much.

David Conroy

I agree Officer and a Gentleman is the better romance, and it's probably the most highly regarded film on this list for critics old enough to have seen it, but I voted GPB anyway because I like it too much.

Eric Haefele

So many good choices. I went with Forever Young. but it is way down in the poll. No worries all the choices are good ones.

leo tierney

i didnt know the girls saw them already. but still, GBP not better than Ja Law, looking fine, & Bradley doing Bradley things, so Y , SLP will be the winner. oh by the way, Officer & a Gentlemen is a rough movie.

Don Dunco

American Giggilo, Pretty Woman, need I go on? Richard Gere has always been an overrated pretty boy. You know, the male version of I'm so pretty I don't have to act a whit. An Officer and a Gentleman is the lone exception to his terrible acting and That's only because Louis Gossett Jr. lifts him out of the gutter and forces him to act.

Rodger Johnson

GBP is one of my favorite movies ever, but I'm not sure I'd call it a "classic" love story. The love story adds to the weirdness and fun, but I don't think it belongs in this group of movies.

Happy Hanukkah

Bjorn, we're not mind readers. How do you expect to get this movie if you've never even mentioned it?! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

If Cassie has seen and enjoyed and enjoyed Brooklyn, then does it get any more romantic than Last Exit to Brooklyn?! :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Nah, it's us bitter Winona Ryder fans! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0138097/trivia/?item=tr1860441 Oh well, at least she went on to win an Oscar the next year for Girl Interrupted...

Happy Hanukkah

/looks at the poll Ooh, it's so good, it's so good, it's so good, it's so good, it's so good, ... :-)

Kristin D

Pleas add French Kiss to later romance polls. It's a funny movie that needs some Cassie and Carly love.

Larry Darrell

I’m happy with any of these, by the way… but just realized how close the spread at the bottom is. 43% of the votes are for 6 out the 9 films which are almost tied for last place. I’m curious if the Top 3 were removed, where would those votes fall? Or Vice Versa by removing the 6?

Carol Rocha

When do we get to see “Shall We Dance” (if she hasn’t watched it) it’s one of my favorite Richard Gere movies!

Carol Rocha

I’m putting in a request for “SHALL WE DANCE” with J Lo & Richard Gere w Susan Sarandon. ❤️

Darreld Studie

I will second Shall We Dance.

Junior

First, I would not classify An Officer and a Gentleman as a Rom/Com. Secondly, I’m glad to see Gross Pointe get recognition. Very underrated movie. Excellent writing and cast.

Patrick Dillon

The original Japanese version is great too. I have both, and prefer the Japanese version, but for a reaction the English version would be best.

James Matthews

"Moonstruck" is a lovely film. I had no idea how great Cher could be as an actress, and all the family interactions were brilliant. I am confident that Cassie and Carly would warm to this one.

Greggory Shaw

Yeesss, Grosse Point Blank - (23%), Cassie you will love this one I have been waiting to re-watch it! Someday => True Romance (1993) needs a poll listing.

Matthew Folz

Very happy to see Grosse Pointe Blank winning this poll. Eagerly awating the reaction to it.

pinkdino99

True Romance is VERY violent ! Not had much uber violence outside of Kill Bill on the channel as yet. It is wonderful though ^^

Mss Lee

Officer and A Gentleman has got to be watched- that’s the one you’ll really love.

Mss Lee

INDEED. Two different genres. Love both movies but Cassie and Carly would LOVE An Officer and A Gentleman

Paul Browne

Gotta agree Moonstruck is great too.... Can only pick one though! I hope pib can get to all of these at some point.

Paul Browne

Ha! I know the feeling. But they will definitely get to it, and love it when they do I'm sure. I'll happily wait.

sixstr1ng

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. It's funny how nobody reacts to that film, it was the biggest film of the mid 80s. You couldn't find anyone who hadn't seen it at least once.

Dean Holt

Shame about Doc Hollywood, feel it got bypassed by a long of people and it’s a really good comedy.

Seymor Butz

GPB will win and is a great film, but Shakespeare in love is the more Cassie movie. Don't forget in GPB to listen out for the word popcorn

Walter

I'd be torn between Moonstruck and Four Weddings and a Funeral...but this is a really good list - I don't think anything here is bad.

Ronald Carpenter

Isn't GPB about an assassin who goes back to his High School prom or something? I saw some of it and had to turn it off.

Clay F

Maybe she will additionally react to the 2nd place Silver Linings Playbook (2012).

Guessing too few of the younger generations saw Moonstruck. Cher won Best Actress. And it launched the career of Nicolas Cage onto the A list.

BRT

Both of those are great faves for me. I thought of Working Girl many times but considering what wins in the polls I didn't want to suggest it just to get frustrated.

BRT

IKR?!? Hoping Cassie will quit her job and watch movies with us every day 😆

BRT

I've been hoping for Moonstruck a long time. Maybe in a few....years....

BRT

@Winston Yeah and she's great in it. It won three Academy Awards and scores high on all the ratings sites.

BRT

Yeah the selection is very broad and I think too many choices in one poll

Moonstruck is the best film on this list, no contest. It's one of the best films ever. Hit it SOMEDAY.

Yes. I actually wrote the back of the video box when it first came out and watched the Oscars at the studio with all the employees who shouted with joy when she won.

I commented above. I'm thinking the younger generations have never seen it. The score is amazing.
