I’m immediately fascinated by the story of Dani Clayton and the children of Bly Manor. This show has done an incredible job of introducing these characters, making me care about them while also layering in intrigue that has me questioning everything.

Welcome! Since this is the first episode of the series I've made this available for everyone! You will need your own copy of the episode to watch along, I have purchased the series on Amazon Prime Video.

I upload these episodes to Patreon, but some people prefer the youtube video player so I provide a YouTube link as well.

Enjoy!

Hill House was already quite stretching the definition of "adaptation," and this one goes even farther, as that credit "Based on the work of Henry James" isn't kidding. While the main story is based on his most famous book The Turn of the Screw, characters and plot points from quite a few of his other books are also thrown in, and somehow it doesn't feel overstuffed at all, and everything makes sense together. First off, the family's last name is never given in that book, and the name Wingrave is taken from The Romance of Certain Old Clothes.

Oh this is based on that? Funny coincidence since I’ve just watched The Innocents from 1961 which is also based from that
