This is a love story. I just hope all who dare to love inside the walls of Bly Manor are not destined for the same fate. There are a lot of layers to this story, but the people of this house coming together in the wake Peters potential return was great to see.

This show got quite a bit of mockery for some cast members struggling with their accents, but luckily the worst offender Henry Thomas has a smaller role so it’s easier to get past. And with Flanagan now having built his reputation so much more, it’s a lot harder to find people who admit it was a deal breaker for them.

You're absolutely right that this is a love story. I think that some of the reason why people weren't as fond of this as of Hill House when it first came out, is that Hill House was very much Gothic Horror/Drama and this leans into the Gothic Romance more.

if there's something Mike Flanagan does well, it's transitions. I clocked the Dani and Jamie romantic spark in episode 2 when they were yelling at each other over the roses, lol. also, I love Hannah and Owen so much. they warm my heart. <3

I did wonder if someone more familiar with accents would take issue with any in the show. Nothing really stands out to me and I love the story so it wouldn't likely break my immersion completely anyway.

It's interesting to me how very much like and how very much different it is from hill house. It clearly is a show that fits right in with its predecessor to me in tone and style, but maybe some didn't connect with the story right away. Which is a shame, because it's great.
