This might be the most onion show I’ve ever seen. You start off with one picture and episode by episode they remove layers showing a much more intriguing and insane story that you could have ever imagined! This week was all about Henry and why he has stayed away from Bly Manor for so long.

I suspected something was going on because of the looks they gave each other when Charlotte was giving birth, but I never suspected that Henry was Flora's father. that was a huge twist for me! that monologue by Jamie is one of my favorites; Flanagan does like to do monologues and imo he knocks them out of the park every time. the soldier Henry was talking about befriending as a child can be seen as a hidden ghost throughout the series, but more specifically, he can be seen between the stairs in the second episode when Dani and Hannah are talking to the police officer. I'll talk more about the hidden ghosts in a later episode because they are fascinating!

I had no idea Henry was Flora's dad until the birthing scene - Flora being "early" coupled with the look Henry and Charlotte exchanged while Charlotte was in labor made me go "OH. Okay. So that's what's up." I love how this show unwraps itself as a whole and all of the characters individually. It's a slow burn of a story, unlike Hill House where it slams into you full force in the first episode. I think Bly is often seen as the bridesmaid because it commits the sin of being Not Hill House, which was the first one aired, but they are kind of different genres or sub-genres - horror-mystery vs. mystery-horror, if that makes any sense, and can appeal equally depending on the viewer. (I love all of Flanagan's pieces, but I'll admit I'm itching for you to get to Midnight Mass and Usher ;) )

Yes the little boy ghost moves the dolls around to let Flora know where everyone is. He is why the doll in the basement in episode 2 was sitting up. He was in the process of putting it back where it belonged when Dani came downstairs.

Oh yea, I clocked the look, but dismissed it as, "why are you in here" 😅 I'll have to look for the soldier, but I'll forget and not see him I'm sure lol

It's so interesting to me because I like Bly just as much. It's certainly not a WORSE show, just different and a slower burn. Excited for Midnight Mass!

That little boy was so much less creepy before she put the doll face on him.
