I really needed this today. Thank you. One of my favorite stories from one of my favorite seasons. The writing is just superb and Toby Jones is one of my favorite actors to watch. I really love this one.

this sits alongside with Gridlock as an episode I would describe as a perfect little slice of Dr Who!! honestly, just everything - acting, writing, themes, direction, chefs kiss

I usually take a sentence or thought from every DW episode that really touches me. This episode's sentence, hands down, is: "There's only one person who hates me this much." every time I watch this episode, I look forward to the reactor's reaction to this moment. nobody ever guesses correctly (and neither did I when I first watch it) but on a second watch I think it is obvious. each of us is our worst enemy. we tend to think that the Doctor has bigger enemies than we do (quick tangent: Steven Moffat also wrote BBC Sherlock and he gave his Sherlock an archenemy, to which Watson replied: "There are no archenemies in real life. Doesn't happen." this is another example of Moffat repeating himself in a way). and he does have big enemies. yet, he cannot escape from himself - he remains his own worst archenemy. I find this very empowering in a strange way - it always reminds me that I can be riddled with self-doubt and still make progress towards my goals. we contain multitudes ^^ what is one sentence from this episode that will stick with you?

also the Doctor saying that there's only one person in the universe who hates him as much as the Dream Lord seems to - himself. Chilling.

The title of a strip in Heavy Metal Magazine, back in the 70s-early 80s, pops into my head with this one. 'What Is Reality Papa?'
